Weekend Weather: Creepin' Up!

The National Weather Service has updated its forecast for this weekend, when the Red Rock Balloon Rally will be taking place. The percentage for snow showers and/or rain are creeping up.

We've been discussing what effects, if any, rain and snow showers will have on the rally. Most said that the balloonists are a pretty hardcore hardy bunch and will go ahead with ballooning. The only concern are winds.

So, basically, if the winds are calm or very little, the balloons will likely be launched.

The new forecast:

Thursday
Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
Thursday Night
A slight chance of rain showers before 11pm, then snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Friday
Snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Friday Night
A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26.
Saturday
A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36.
Saturday Night
Snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Sunday
A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31.
Sunday Night
A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16.
