Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE) has decided to drop the proposed arena (at least for now) and move forward with other projects that are part of their Graceland expansion plan.
According to Local Memphis:
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - There’s a change in tune from leaders at Elvis Presley Enterprises.
In an update to the Memphis city council Tuesday, Joel Weinshanker from EPE said he’s now open to setting aside a proposed 6200-seat arena as part of a planned Graceland campus expansion so the other portions can get built.
That arena piece is part of an ongoing lawsuit tied to FedExForum’s non-compete clause.
EPE also wants to add a manufacturing facility, soundstage, and stores with the help of tax incentives.
