In preparation for travel to California for Christmas, I went to Red Rock Park today to use their dump station to empty all of The Beast's tanks (fresh water, grey water and black water).
Since the temperatures drop below freezing at night in Albuquerque (where my plane departs), and I have no electrical plug-ins for the holding tank heaters at the airport RV parking lot, I had to empty all of the tanks. There's nothing to freeze if they're empty.
After finishing emptying the tanks, I headed over to the office to pay for the use of the dump station. The lady in the office said there's no charge. Nice!
While we were talking, I mentioned that I camped at the Red Rock Park Campground for the Red Rock Balloon Rally. She said that the winds were strong and shifted, so no balloons were launched. I had already figured that it would be the winds and not the snow that would abort the balloon launching.
Since my return flight to Albuquerque on Thursday doesn't arrive until after 1:00 in the morning, I will likely either sleep in The Beast at the airport parking lot or go part way and stay either at Route 66 RV Resort or at the RV park at Sky City Casino and head home later. We'll see.
