Snow Hath Arrived

Above, the front yard tonight. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

The snowstorm started this afternoon as I was watching the John Wayne movie, Sands of Iwo Jima (1949).

As the evening wore on, the snowflakes got larger and began to accumulate on the ground. Right now, it looks like about an inch had fallen.

It has been at least a couple of days since I've seen P.K. Her kittens have been here, but I have been hearing them calling for her. I hope she's okay.

The National Weather Service forecast through Friday night:

Tonight
Rain and snow likely before 2am, then a chance of snow between 2am and 5am, then a chance of rain and snow after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 35. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday
A chance of rain and snow showers, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 41. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 25 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 17. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast after midnight.
