I live in an area with an abundance of trees. Yet some bird has decided to build a nest atop the front door storm door frame.
The bird has been trying to build the nest over the past two weeks but the high winds keep blowing the twigs and other nesting stuff off the door frame, leaving a mess.
D.K. regularly comes to eat and drink water at the front porch, but that hasn't detered the bird's building efforts. Sierra sits at the front door to stare at the bird. That hasn't detered it either.
Finally, I got tired of sweeping the mess and got the idea to put old cigar boxes on top of the door frame. They are a perfect fit.
After I put the boxes on the door frame, the bird came back and saw that there's no room to build a nest. Hopefully, it will find a nice tree to build the nest.
