The cyber-attack on the Colonial pipeline on the east coast has caused problems for sure, but are the "shortages" actually the fault of the attack?
To answer this question, RV Travel took a look at how real the shortages are.
They start their article with:
Last week’s cyberattack against the major East Coast oil pipeline set up circumstances that could potentially create fuel shortages. At mid-week, about 1,000 stations reported “out of gas” situations. What’s being done to help drivers along the East Coast get that precious motivator back in their tanks? And are the fuel outages really the fault of the pipeline shutdown?
Much of it is being caused by hoarders (probably the same people who hoarded toilet paper last year) who are filling up multiple gas containers, plastic bags and (as shown above) laundry baskets.
