More Rain This Week

Above, the gang yesterday morning at Denny's at the Flying J.

Yesterday afternoon and evening, the monsoon rains came and dumped some precipitation in the Jamestown, New Mexico area with some lightning and thunder.

More of the same will occur today (40% chance). We should consider ourselves fortunate since we need the rain and the rest of the country is sweltering.

According to the National Weather Service:

There is a continued threat for scattered thunderstorms, heavy rain, and isolated instances of flash flooding throughout the Four Corners region and the Southeast and central Gulf Coast through the end of the week.

 Today

A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the morning.
Tonight
A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. South wind 10 to 15 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight.
Thursday
A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Thursday Night
A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday
A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the morning.
