While Much of the Country Will Be Roasting...

While much of the rest of the country will be boiling in excessive heat, Jamestown, New Mexico will continue to receive thunderstorms of monsoon season.

Last evening, we received a nice thunderstorm that provided me with a lightning display and heavy rains. That's entertainment!

Much of the same will be happening this week, if the National Weather Service forecast is correct.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tonight

Scattered showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Showers and thunderstorms likely after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Southeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
