LEGISLATIVE UPDATE   Stay engaged and ready to take action!  Tuesday January 31, 2023 Today, Democrats tabled every Republican anti-crime bill designed to hold criminals accountable in the House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee.  These included: HB 57 - TORT IMMUNITY FOR SHOPLIFTER APPREHENSION HB 58 - ADDITIONAL VIOLENT FELONIES HB 59 - UNLAWFUL FIREARMS WHILE TRAFFICKING HB 60 - ENHANCED SENTENCING FOR FENTANYL HB 61 - FELON IN POSSESSION OF FIREARM PENALTY House Republicans put out a statement saying, "The Democrat lawmakers persistently moved to “table” (or blocked) every Republican crime bill, sometimes before any lawmaker or member of the public had a chance to digest the legislation, ask questions, or make comment on the proposed legislation.
