Republican Party of NM Responds To Governor

Republican Party of New Mexico Responds to Governor Lujan Grisham’s Face the Nation Interview

ALBUQUERQUE, MAY 12—The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) rebukes Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s alarmist claims made on CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday, where she resorted to fearmongering about federal Medicaid cuts. While she attempted to paint a dire picture to deflect from her failures, her own secret efforts to divert New Mexico’s tax dollars to healthcare for non-citizens jeopardize Medicaid access for our state’s most vulnerable citizens.

In response, RPNM Chairwoman Amy Barela issued the following statement:

"Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s recent interview on Face the Nation was nothing more than fearmongering dressed up as leadership. What she didn’t say is just as dangerous as what she did. The truth is, New Mexicans are at greater risk today because of this Governor’s continued decision to put illegal immigrants ahead of our own citizens.

Her push to provide taxpayer-funded health insurance for individuals who are here illegally is not only fiscally irresponsible—it’s a slap in the face to hardworking New Mexicans. Our state is already struggling to meet the healthcare needs of its residents, and now we’re being told to stretch an already limited budget even further. This reckless policy threatens to strip deserving citizens of the coverage they rely on.

We need real solutions—not political stunts and federal talking points. It’s time for Governor Lujan Grisham to stop adding to the problem and start putting New Mexicans first."

A recent report revealed that Governor Lujan Grisham attempted to approve a $1.75 million contract as part of a $56 million healthcare expansion program that included services for “undocumented immigrants” funded by state tax dollars. Further scrutiny of this no-bid contract with a close friend and former business partner was halted only after public and media scrutiny.

Lujan Grisham’s warnings of presumed federal Medicaid cuts ring hollow when her own actions prioritize non-citizens over New Mexicans who rely on Medicaid. RPNM calls on the Governor to cease her lies about the federal government and focus her attention on protecting Medicaid for New Mexico's most vulnerable legal citizens.

RPNM Statement On Biden

The Republican Party of New Mexico issued the following statement on His Fraudulency Joe Biden's withdrawal from the campaign:

ALBUQUERQUE, JULY 21—Today, after weeks of consistently proclaiming he's not dropping out and will be the Democratic nominee, President Joe Biden announced in a statement that he is dropping out of the presidential race. Joe Biden also announced shortly after that he is endorsing Kamala Harris for President.

The Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce issued the following statement in response:

"New Mexico Democrats have been betrayed and lied to by the Democratic Party. Democrats have spent 3 1/2 years claiming Trump will destroy democracy. Now, by forcing Biden out without any legal framework to do so, Democrats have shown they have no respect for democracy and that their criticisms of Trump are simply projection and gaslighting.

"In a desperate bid to hold onto power, the elites have managed to undermine the votes of 111,049 New Mexicans who supported Joe Biden in this year's primary, only to install a new ticket. New Mexico Democrats have been cheated of their voice and the democratic process.

"Yesterday, we saw reports of big donors refusing to fund candidates, including Senator Martin Heinrich, if they didn't call on Biden to drop out of the race. What has become increasingly clear is the Democratic Party favors the opinions of billionaires and party elites over the voices of New Mexicans. This is not the party of democracy. There is nothing White House insiders didn't know about Biden's fitness and ability to lead for at least a year, which they know now. They simply couldn't hide it from the public any longer.

"Today, Biden's handlers also announced that they endorse Kamala Harris for president. Kamala Harris would be just as ineffective as President as she was in her role as the so-called Border Czar. What is clear is Republicans in New Mexico and nationwide are strongly united and enthusiastic about electing President Trump and every Republican up and down the ballot to get our state and country back on a prosperous and secure path."

Facebook Accused of Silencing NM GOP Candidate

Above, GOP candidate Angelita Mejia.

It looks like Facebook is gearing up to interfere in the 2024 election campaign.

The latest is the removal of a Republican candidate's Facebook page with no explanation, except their usual "community standards" violation bullshit.

According to PiƱon Post:

In a recent development that has sparked controversy and debate over freedom of speech on social media platforms, Angelita Mejia, a Republican candidate for the New Mexico House of Representatives, found herself censored by Facebook. Mejia, who is running unopposed in District 58 in Chaves County, had taken to Facebook to announce her candidacy and seek support in the form of ballot petition signatures, a requirement for official candidacy in New Mexico.

Mejia’s campaign and personal Facebook pages were abruptly deactivated within a day of her posting about her campaign and the need for petition signatures. Facebook cited a violation of its “community standards” as the reason for the shutdown but failed to provide a specific explanation for the action. This left Mejia and her campaign in the dark, unable to reach potential supporters through the platform as the crucial deadline for signature submission approached.

Steve Pearce, the Chairman of the Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM), expressed his concern over the incident, calling it an attempt by Facebook to silence a conservative voice. He said, “This is clearly an attempt by Facebook to silence a conservative Republican woman and to prevent her from being able to collect signatures needed to place her name on the ballot for the upcoming primary election.”

Staying Home

Above, this morning's light dusting. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

It was a good thing that I cancelled going to Santa Fe for tonight's GOP legislative dinner.

I took a look outside a few minutes ago and we are starting to get a light dusting of snow. I kept tabs on the weather reports for Jamestown and Santa Fe the past several days and decided that it wasn't worth the 185 mile drive in this weather. Truckers on the interstates here don't seem to know how to slow down.

So, two days ago, I contacted the Republican Party of New Mexico and told them I won't be going to the dinner and they have my okay to let someone else use my dinner ticket.

RPNM Responds to Gov. MLG's "Public Safety" Legislative Priorities

RPNM Responds to Gov. MLG's "Public Safety" Legislative Priorities

January 12—Today, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham held a press conference to unveil her public safety legislative priorities. During her conference, the governor outlined propositions for additional firearm bans, among other plans to give her more executive authority to remove New Mexicans' rights.

The Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman and former Representative of NM's Second Congressional District, Steve Pearce, issued the following statement:

"What the governor proposed today was another egregious attack on New Mexicans' Second Amendment rights." Pearce said.

"If the governor really cares about keeping our communities safe, she will focus on giving tougher penalties to criminals, keeping criminals behind bars while supporting law enforcement and allowing them to do their job. Republicans will be putting forth multiple bills this session that will get tough on criminals without infringing on the rights of law-abiding citizens. The governor's continued assaults on New Mexicans' constitutional rights must be stopped."

RPNM Announces Lawsuit Against Governor and NM Secretary of Health

RPNM Announces Lawsuit Against Governor and NM Secretary of Health

Albuquerque, September 11—Today, we announce the Republican Party of New Mexico is preparing to file a lawsuit against Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and the New Mexico Secretary of Health, Patrick M. Allen, for deliberately violating the United States and New Mexico Constitutions with their emergency public health order that includes a ban on concealed and open carry within Albuquerque and Bernalillo County.

RPNM Chairman and former Congressman Steve Pearce issued the following statement:

"The Governor and the Secretary of Health's egregious overstepping of New Mexicans' rights may be the worst we have seen in the nation. Our lawsuit will challenge the Governor and the Secretary of Health's authority to supersede our federal and state constitutions with the stroke of a pen.

America is watching this case unfold in New Mexico. We must set a precedent for the rest of the nation that politicians and unelected officials do not have the right to declare an emergency anytime they want to override your constitutional rights.

The Governor made her stance clear when she said, "no constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute." Michelle Lujan Grisham must be held accountable for her unlawful stunt. This must never happen again in our state or the rest of the nation. We want New Mexicans to know the Governor was wrong, and you have rights."

Our litigation is in addition to the New Mexico House and Senate Republican's lawsuit and several other independent entities filing lawsuits regarding this order.

RPNM Statement on Governor’s Unconstitutional Firearm Order

RPNM Statement on Governor’s Unconstitutional Firearm Order

Albuquerque, September 8th—Today, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed an executive order to ban open and concealed carry of firearms in Albuquerque and Bernalillo Counties as part of her declared public health emergency for gun violence in New Mexico.

According to the Governor, she will reevaluate and renew her public health order every 30 days. The order is for all of New Mexico, but only Albuquerque currently meets the requirements of 1,000 violent crimes per 100,000 people and more than 90 firearm-related emergency department visits for the ban to apply.

The Governor's order violates gun rights within the New Mexico Constitution and the Concealed Handgun Carry Act of 2003, which guarantees the concealed handgun rights of New Mexicans who qualify for and obtain a permit.

The Governor admitted she knew her order is unconstitutional, stating she wasn't sure she would win a legal challenge against it.

"She knew her order was illegal but did it anyway, just like the lawbreakers in our state. Criminals won't be affected by more laws since they don't follow our laws now nor are they held responsible for breaking any of them," said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce.

"This order removes protection from law-abiding New Mexican gun owners, leaving them and their families vulnerable in a city with the highest violent crime. How does that make sense?

Dangerous criminals won't be affected by the Governor's order and will continue to prey on vulnerable targets. Those who will be affected are the many responsible, gun-carrying women and mothers who will be left defenseless and unable to protect themselves and their children.

The Governor has let violent criminals out of prison. She weakened our police. She and the Democratic legislature allowed softer penalties for violent crime while stopping tough crime bills from passing. We have an open border where fentanyl and deadly drugs pour onto our streets and a mental health crisis exacerbated by the Governor's lockdowns.

This violent crime crisis is most prominent in blue cities nationwide, like Albuquerque, directly resulting from weak Democratic policy. Instead of reversing her failed approach, the Governor strips the rights of responsible gun-owning New Mexicans.

Her order puts citizens in a dangerous situation and is outright illegal. We expect to see the Governor's order challenged and defeated in court."

RPNM Statement On Trump Arraignment

RPNM Statement on Trump Arraignment

America is facing an epidemic of political injustice.

Albuquerque, April 4 — Today, former President Donald Trump voluntarily surrendered himself to Manhattan authorities to hear his indictment charges and formally respond to them. The former president's previously unsealed indictment charges were made public this afternoon. Trump pleaded not guilty to all thirty-four felony counts made against him.

Republican Party of New Mexico and former Congressman Steve Pearce issued the following statement:

"The charges released today only add more questions about the credibility of this indictment. No new information was given in the unsealed documents. Federal and district prosecutors previously decided not to charge the same allegations made against former President Trump almost seven years ago. Prosecuting district attorney Alvin Bragg was rightfully asked today, 'Why now?'

We all know why.

It's disheartening that cases of political vengeance can prevail in America. Our country is facing an epidemic of political injustice, something New Mexicans experience daily. Progressives refuse to hold violent criminals accountable and release them back onto our streets.

Alvin Bragg also has a long, disturbing history of letting violent criminals off the hook. Some of the most alarming cases include him offering a sweetheart plea deal to a suspect charged in the brutal anti-Semitic beating of a Jewish man. Additionally, he gave a sweetheart plea deal and released a man accused of raping his teenage relative who then went on to allegedly commit five more sex crimes.

People are fed up and can see through the hypocrisy. In a CNN poll, 76% of people said they believe politics played a role in former President Trump's indictment. We cannot allow our justice system to be politicized, but unfortunately, that's exactly what the left is doing."

RPNM Statement On Trump Indictment

RPNM Statement on Trump Indictment

Trump indictment sets a dangerous precedent.

Albuquerque, March 30 — Today, a Manhattan grand jury voted to indict former President Trump on charges believed to be associated with alleged hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels. The indictment has not been unsealed, and the exact charges are unknown.

Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman and former Congressman Steve Pearce issued the following statement:

"We've known from the beginning that this is a political witch hunt against the former President. We had a rogue, Soros-funded district attorney with a political agenda facing intense pressure from the left ahead of an election year.

Many Democrats have criticized this case for lack of credibility and condemned the biased judicial system in New York. This indictment sets a dangerous precedent for the future of the nation. If a former chief executive officer of the United States can be arrested on dubious charges, the same thing can happen to others.

It would be great to see the same fervor for the solid evidence against the Biden family and their ties to Communist China, or better yet, let's see an investigation into our Governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham, and her alleged hush money payments made from her campaign funds. I wonder how long U.S. and New Mexico prosecutors will continue to sit on their hands with the precedent that has been set in New York."

RPNM Statement on the State of the Union

His Fraudulency Joe Biden gave his State of the Union speech last night before congress. The reactions I've been hearing and reading was that it was a bunch of B.S. and outright lies. I didn't bother to watch it.

But others did and here's the reaction from Steve Pearce, Chairman of the Republican Party of New Mexico:

Logo

REPUBLICAN PARTY OF NEW MEXICO STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT BIDEN’S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS

Albuquerque, February 7—President Biden delivered his State of the Union Address with lies and empty promises this evening. The actual state of the Union is that Biden has weakened America.

Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman and former Congressman, Steve Pearce, issued the following statement on the President's State of the Union Address:

"Tonight, we heard President Biden continuously boast about the economy when the truth is that most working, middle-class Americans are hurting. Inflation has been surging at or above five percent for twenty months. Forty-one percent of Americans say they are financially worse off since he took office.

In my state, New Mexicans are struggling to feed their families when necessities like eggs have become unaffordable. Working New Mexicans are seeing their wages and disposable income both decrease. We‘re experiencing record crime but Biden repeated his plan to weaken police and leave citizens unarmed.

Biden made empty promises about securing the border despite allowing deadly drugs, like fentanyl, to pour into our nation every day for the past two years. Biden inherited the most secure border in history, but since he took office, there have been 5.8 million illegal border crossings.

Biden lied about Republicans wanting to cut Medicare and Social Security. Speaker McCarthy made it clear when he said, "Cuts to Medicare and Social Security they are off the table." Biden's weak foreign policy allowed China to orbit our skies. Biden only acted once China's balloon crossed the entire United States. It's very clear Biden does not have America's back.

While President Biden ignored the struggles of the American people tonight, Republicans are offering a brighter future. Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders' rebuttal of the State of the Union sharply contrasts Biden's weak administration with Republicans' strong, secure, and prosperous vision for America. Congressman Juan Ciscomani, the first Mexican-born American elected to Congress, gave a powerful Spanish-language address tonight focusing on how Republican policies preserve our American dream. As the Democrats continue to push their failed agenda, Republicans offer a clear contrast that empowers Americans."

New Mexico's Legislative Democrat Sh*t Show

Above, New Mexico Second Amendment Sanctuary Counties in green.

The 2023 New Mexico legislative session is really turning into a Democrat sh*t show. So far.

Far left Democrats are passing anti-Second Amendment bills in their controlled committees while tabling Republican-sponsored anti-crime bills without the benefit of hearing the merits or discussion. Those bills would be far more effective in battling crime. But they aren't interested in that, they are only hell-bent on letting felons get off Scott-free, while at the same time, turning responsible gun owners into felons.

From the Republican Party of New Mexico:

House Republicans put out a statement saying, "The Democrat lawmakers persistently moved to “table” (or blocked) every Republican crime bill, sometimes before any lawmaker or member of the public had a chance to digest the legislation, ask questions, or make comment on the proposed legislation.

Rep. John Block:

Dems just killed a bunch of bills in House Consumer and Public Affairs to stop the crime/fentanyl problem seemingly just because they were sponsored by a Republican. Criminals are laughing at us.

Remember, over half of New Mexico counties have declared themselves a "Sanctuary County" against Democrat sh*t show anti-Second Amendment laws.

This is a clear example that stupid people should not be allowed to vote. They are trying to turn New Mexico into a one-party state like Commiefornia.

They are flooding this session with a slew of bad bills. Go here to see how bad things are.

Lunatic voters elected these idiots.
