The temperatures have been in the 80s and the winds have tapered down for the past several days. But all that is going to change in the next few days.
Starting tomorrow, we will be in a Fire Weather Watch through May 20 at 9:00 PM. On Friday, gusty winds return.

.Widespread critical fire weather conditions are expected today
across all of northern and central New Mexico. Strong southwest
to west winds and single digit humidities will be the rule. This
evening and overnight, a strong cold front will switch winds
around to the northwest. Expect a one to three hour period of very
strong winds behind the front, which would keep any ongoing fires
active into the overnight period. Winds will remain breezy to
windy on Tuesday, and though temperatures will be below normal,
very dry conditions will persist. Therefore, critical fire weather
conditions may return for the Sandia, Manzano and Gallinas
Mountains and the East Central Plains Tuesday.
