Bob Saget: When and Where Stricken Makes A Big Difference

Tinseltown is shocked over the report of comedian/actor Bob Saget being found dead in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida.

According to police, there were no indications of foul play or drugs at the scene. This leads me to think that Saget died suddenly of natural causes, such as from a heart attack, stroke, aneurysm, blood clot or anything else that could cause sudden death.

Prior to this, Saget seemed to be a healthy 65-year-old man. But appearances, especially at that age, can be deceiving. It is likely that Saget had no idea that something was critically wrong with him. Who knows what goes on inside one's body. I can only go by my own experience three and a half years ago.

Back then, I had no health issues and was an active 64-year-old. But while attending the Wells Fun Run car show and rally in Wells, Nevada, I was stricken by a heart attack at a restaurant. Luckily, I was with friends at the time and fast action saved my life. I ended up getting two stents in a coronary artery that became blocked. Perhaps this is what happened to Saget. Unfortunately for him (I am speculating), he was stricken while alone and possibly asleep (if he was found in bed). Had he been with people, he quite possibly could have been saved as I was. We won't know until the Orlando medical examiner completes the autopsy on Saget's body.

It is weird how so many celebrities have died in hotel rooms due to various causes. Janis Joplin, John Belushi, Don Drysdale and William Holden come immediately to mind.

It all boils down to when and where one is stricken. It can, and does, happen to anyone. In my case, I consider myself very lucky.

Trump Triumphs At CPAC

Former President Donald Trump gave a rousing speech today at CPAC in Orlando, Florida.

He paid tribute to Rush Limbaugh, who passed away two weeks ago. His widow, Kathryn, was present to receive Trump's tribute.

He also strongly hinted that he will be running again in 2024 (Holy Grover Cleveland, Batman!). He also said that he will be out campaigning for America First Republicans and against RINO Republicans (he listed the RINOs he'll be going after).

Of course, he attacked His Fraudulency Joe Biden for his disastrously bad 40 days in office.

Trump also won a straw poll of CPAC attendees by over 50%.

The Beast Repaired and Clean

Above, while The Beast was being worked on. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

The Beast is all repaired.

I took it in to Niel's RV in North Hills this morning and got the new passenger rear side marker light replaced. I had crunched it with a pole I couldn't see.

the Orlando shooting victims. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

The part came in yesterday and set an appointment with Niel's for this morning.

Following the completion of the repair work, I headed off to the coin-operated car wash and gave The Beast a bath. A lot of tiny bugs were squished on the side view mirrors.

So now The Beast is as good and clean as new.

At least until the next camping trek.

Trump Statement On Orlando Terrorist Attack

DONALD J. TRUMP STATEMENT REGARDING TRAGIC TERRORIST ATTACK IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA

Last night, our nation was attacked by a radical Islamic terrorist. It was the worst terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11, and the second of its kind in 6 months. My deepest sympathy and support goes out to the victims, the wounded, and their families.

In his remarks today, President Obama disgracefully refused to even say the words 'Radical Islam'. For that reason alone, he should step down. If Hillary Clinton, after this attack, still cannot say the two words 'Radical Islam' she should get out of this race for the Presidency.

If we do not get tough and smart real fast, we are not going to have a country anymore. Because our leaders are weak, I said this was going to happen – and it is only going to get worse. I am trying to save lives and prevent the next terrorist attack. We can't afford to be politically correct anymore.

The terrorist, Omar Mir Saddique Mateen, is the son of an immigrant from Afghanistan who openly published his support for the Afghanistani Taliban and even tried to run for President of Afghanistan. According to Pew, 99% of people in Afghanistan support oppressive Sharia Law.

We admit more than 100,000 lifetime migrants from the Middle East each year. Since 9/11, hundreds of migrants and their children have been implicated in terrorism in the United States.

Hillary Clinton wants to dramatically increase admissions from the Middle East, bringing in many hundreds of thousands during a first term – and we will have no way to screen them, pay for them, or prevent the second generation from radicalizing.

We need to protect all Americans, of all backgrounds and all beliefs, from Radical Islamic Terrorism - which has no place in an open and tolerant society. Radical Islam advocates hate for women, gays, Jews, Christians and all Americans. I am going to be a President for all Americans, and I am going to protect and defend all Americans. We are going to make America safe again and great again for everyone.

I'm Big In Florida

Above, an introductory video/slideshow at the start of Haruo Nakajima's and Akira Takarada's
session. Both were watching from "the wings" while this was shown. Photo courtesy of Tim Price.

The Spooky Empire's MAY-HEM! convention is currently being held in Orlando, Florida.

The two top kaiju guests are Haruo Nakajima and Akira Takarada.  Tim Price (Big In Japan) took this shot from their session. On the screen are Nakajima and I from last year's Mad Monster Party in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was part of a "fan appreciation video" shown at the start of the session that was made by Price.

Nothing like being in Florida without actually stepping out of California!

Here's the original photo of Nakajima and I getting "photo-bombed" by Godzilla:
