Nice Day

Above, after today's Jeep drive. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Since today is a nice sunny day (right now it is 60° outside), I decided to head into Gallup to do some grocery shopping.

Before doing so, I stopped in at the Silver Screen restaurant at the El Rancho Hotel for some breakfast. It has been about a month since I last ate there, so it was nice to stop in. I had the Monument Valley enchiladas.

Since we're nearing the holiday season, the market had some egg nog, so I bought some. I am having a brandy and egg nog right now.

After shopping was done and I put everything away, I went into the garage to fire up the mower (it needed a jump start) and mini bike. The cold temperatures aren't good for batteries, so I need to periodically start them up.

Then, since it was nice out, I took a little Jeep drive around the community. I had been about a week since I last drove it.

This week is supposed to be a drier and warmer week.

A Relaxed Saturday

The snow we received last night is already starting to disappear.

It is around 37° outside. The roads are clear and so is my driveway.

I took the Jeep down to Denny's at the Flying J for our Saturday coffee/breakfast. The roads were already clear when I left the house, just wet. Some of the guys said they got around 2-3 inches of snow overnight.

Later, after getting home, I saw some tracks in the snow on my driveway that weren't the Jeep's. It turned out to be from Federal Express delivering a package from Cabela's.

This afternoon, I poured myself an egg nog and brandy. That's one thing I really enjoy during the holiday season.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from Lake Havasu, Arizona!

Last night, we had a Christmas Eve party at Mitch and Holly Geriminsky's with three different stews/soups instead of the usual (and boring) turkey dinner. Each were quite good and everyone was filled up.

We also had a Christmas gift exchange game which was fun. I received a set of jumper cables that will go into the Jeep when I get home.

As Christmas Eve was also Egg Nog Day, Mitch and I celebrated with egg nogs and brandy.

After dinner, to took a ride in Mitch's golf cart around the neighborhood near the Lake Havasu Golf Club.

Below is my Christmas gift to Mitch and Holly, a yard gnome with a LED lantern:

One resident has a nice T-rex metal sculpture in their yard. I'm guessing it is about 10' tall:

Too Cold To Venture Out

Above, the "Three Mesas" painting by Asya in my living room. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Since it is a nice tropical 27° outside, I thought it would be a perfect time to fix myself a glass of egg nogg and brandy (with a dash or two of cinnamon).

I don't think I will venture out much today, except (maybe) heading down to the Flying J to check my mailbox at the post office.

It is sunny here right now, but it is probably a different story to the east of here (including Albuquerque) where there is a winter storm warning.

So I'm staying inside at home. How's that for social distancing?

Errands Done

Above, enjoying a brandy and egg nog.

Well, I got my errands in Gallup done.

I had to deposit a money order (a rather sizable one) at my bank's ATM. Following that, I headed over to the market to pick up a few things I forgot to get the other night.

One additional item I picked up was a bottle of egg nogg.

Once I got home, while listening to Rush Limbaugh, I made myself a brandy and egg nog.

Now to enjoy a peaceful lockdown.
