Sec. Haaland Hit With Ethics Complaint Over Chaco Canyon

For those of us who are familiar with the lack of ethics on the part of Leftists, this really should not come as a surprise.

Secretary of the Interior Secretary Deb Haaland has been "smacked" with an ethics complaint over the land grab of the area surrounding Chaco Culture National Historical Park (also known as Chaco Canyon).

According to Piñon Post:

Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT) has taken a significant step by filing an ethics complaint that calls upon the Department of the Interior (DOI) Inspector General to thoroughly investigate a potential ethics violation involving DOI Secretary Deb Haaland. The complaint arises from Secretary Haaland’s recent exercise of regulatory authority to implement a contentious moratorium on oil and gas leasing near Chaco Canyon National Historical Park. This move has raised concerns about pre-determined decision-making, prompting PPT to question whether the Secretary fulfilled her impartiality and ethics obligations.

Secretary Haaland’s involvement in the documentary film Our Story: The Indigenous Led Fight to Protect Greater Chaco, narrated by her child, Somah Haaland, has raised eyebrows regarding her impartiality in this matter. The film features footage of Secretary Haaland expressing opposition to oil and gas leasing at Chaco, including what seems to be a one-on-one interview near the site. PPT sought a comprehensive investigation into whether the Secretary adhered to her ethical responsibilities.

New Mexico's "Dr. Death"

Remember Jack Kevorkian, known as "Dr. Death"?

Kevorkian assisted about 100 people in committing suicide due to their terminal illness. This is known as Physician-Assisted Suicide.

The American Medical Association (AMA) still is against physician-assisted suicide. 

Their position is:

Physician-assisted suicide occurs when a physician facilitates a patient’s death by providing the necessary means and/or information to enable the patient to perform the life-ending act (e.g., the physician provides sleeping pills and information about the lethal dose, while aware that the patient may commit suicide).

It is understandable, though tragic, that some patients in extreme duress—such as those suffering from a terminal, painful, debilitating illness—may come to decide that death is preferable to life. However, permitting physicians to engage in assisted suicide would ultimately cause more harm than good.

Physician-assisted suicide is fundamentally incompatible with the physician’s role as healer, would be difficult or impossible to control, and would pose serious societal risks.

New Mexico has its own "Dr. Death" in Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham.

According to the Piñon Post:

According to a report from the Santa Fe New Mexican, around 30 people, “possibly more,” have killed themselves using Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s extreme anti-life assisted suicide law, H.B. 47, which she signed in April. When signing the bill, she said, “It is done.” 

The law, which was opposed by multiple disability rights groups, the Navajo Nation, and many patients living with terminal conditions, sought to further normalize a culture of death in New Mexico by letting medical professionals prescribe lethal drugs to patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness that could take their lives anytime up to six months.

The bill would legalize doctors to prescribe a “cocktail” of lethal drugs to patients suffering from terminal illnesses, which will save insurance companies money.

Improper Gifts Received By Arizona Memorial Employee

It does seem that there's nothing sacred these days.

The News & Observer reported:

HONOLULU - A National Park Service employee at the USS Arizona Memorial accepted gifts from tour operators in violation of ethics regulations, U.S. Department of Interior investigators said Wednesday. 

The gifts included a $50 jacket and golf course green fees valued at about $85, the department's inspector general said in a three-paragraph summary of their report on the case. 

Investigators didn't release their full report for privacy reasons and because it contained law enforcement information. 

The report says the U.S. Attorney's Office in Hawaii declined to prosecute. 

Investigators launched their probe after hearing a Park Service employee may have had improper relationships with tour operators to whom he distributed memorial tickets. The report didn't identify the employee or say when he received the gifts.

That's certainly a very good way to mess up one's career and lose a job.

Maxine Waters In Hot Water Over Ethics Violations

California Congresswoman Maxine Waters, D-Los Angeles, is in hot water over ethics violations according to a House Ethics Committee panel.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting:

WASHINGTON — In accusing Rep. Maxine Waters (D- Los Angeles) of violating House ethics rules, congressional investigators have focused on a meeting she arranged with Treasury officials that they say centered on the fortunes of a single bank — one with ties to her husband.

Three months after Waters called Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson to set up the meeting during the financial crisis, OneUnited Bank received $12 million in bailout funds.

Waters' husband, Sidney Williams, served on the bank board from 2004 to 2008 and at the time of the Sept. 9, 2008, meeting was a stockholder in the bank, according to a report from the Office of Congressional Ethics made public Monday.

Waters' husband was on the bank board until April 21, 2008, according to the report. According to Waters' 2008 financial disclosure report, Williams had two investments in OneUnited that were valued between $500,000 and $1 million.

This follows on the heels of the ethics violations of Rep. Charles Rangel, D-NY. A bipartisan House investigative committee formally charged Rangel, who represents the 15th District in Manhattan, with 13 ethics violations last Thursday.

Looks like Maxine's chickens are coming home to roost.
