Hot-Air Balloons Over Red Rock Park

Yesterday, I was heading to Gallup to have breakfast at the El Rancho Hotel and do some grocery shopping when I noticed, ten miles ahead, hot air balloons rising from Red Rock Park.

I wasn't aware if there were any balloon festivals or other events. 

As I got closer, I saw that there were about ten balloons in the air or about to be launched. I exited Interstate 40 at the McGaffey exit and proceeded down Historic Route 66. I stopped at roadside pull-out near the park and took a few pictures of the balloons.

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta RV Sites Booked Up

If you were planning to attend the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta this coming October and staying there in your RV and haven't booked a reservation for a space, you're out of luck.

RV Travel reported: 

If you didn’t get your RV site reservation last Wednesday, Jan. 5, for the Oct. 1-9, 2022, Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta® you may be out of luck.

More than 20,000 RV reservations for the event were booked within an hour and a half of the reservation start time last Wednesday. By 10:30 a.m., they were gone.
