Reports of Voter Intimidation In Otero County

Above, graphic by the ACLU.

Some election officials are already pulling some shenanigans (I could use a stronger term) during early voting in New Mexico. The following is allegedly happening in Otero County.

According to an article in the PiƱon Post:

Tuesday is Election Day, and there are some reports already of voter intimidation during early voting that concluded on Saturday.

According to elections expert Erin Clements, Otero County Clerk Robin Holmes “is telling her poll workers that if voters want to use their own blue pen to fill out their ballots… to WRITE DOWN THEIR NAMES AND REFER THEM TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY,” adding, “That’s  VOTER INTIMIDATION from a public official!”

According to NMSA 1-12-57, “After marking and preparing a paper ballot in a polling place, the voter: A. shall not show it to any person in the polling place in such a way as to reveal its contents; And B. shall feed the paper ballot into the electronic vote tabulator.”

Therefore, the poll workers should not be able even to know if the individual used a blue or black pen to fill in the ballot.

Let's get one thing straight, voter intimidation is illegal, no matter who is doing it!

To read more, go here

UPDATE:

Since I blogged this article earlier today. I looked further into this. One has to wonder just who were the ones complaining. Robin Holmes is a Republican, so it seems odd that she would be trying to intimidate anyone. Intimidation is the Democrat modus operandi, not Republican. Maybe Democrat plants? Just be extra cautious when voting.

Catholics Sue Obama Administration Over ObamaCare

The Chicago thugs who occupy the White House and the machinery of the Democratic Party thought they could make the Catholic Church capitulate to them over ObamaCare.  They thought wrong.

CNSNews.com is reporting:

The Archdiocese of New York, headed by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., headed by Cardinal Donald Wuerl, the University of Notre Dame, and 40 other Catholic dioceses and organizations around the country announced on Monday that they are suing the Obama administration for violating their freedom of religion, which is guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Constitution.
The dioceses and organizations, in different combinations, are filing 12 different lawsuits filed in federal courts around the country.
The Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. has established a special website--preservereligiousfreedom.org--to explain its lawsuit and present news and developments concerning it.
"This lawsuit is about an unprecedented attack by the federal government on one of America's most cherished freedoms: the freedom to practice one's religion without government interference," the archdiocese posted on their website. "It is not about whether people have access to certain services; it is about whether the government may force religious institutions and individuals to facilitate and fund services which violate their religious beliefs."
The only thing bullies respect is when the victim(s) fight back.  A mighty big one is fighting back.

Obama Attempting To Intimidate Romney Donors

President Obama and his minions are attempting to intimidate donors to Mitt Romney's campaign.

The Wall Street Journal posted:

Try this thought experiment: You decide to donate money to Mitt Romney. You want change in the Oval Office, so you engage in your democratic right to send a check.

Several days later, President Barack Obama, the most powerful man on the planet, singles you out by name. His campaign brands you a Romney donor, shames you for "betting against America," and accuses you of having a "less-than-reputable" record. The message from the man who controls the Justice Department (which can indict you), the SEC (which can fine you), and the IRS (which can audit you), is clear: You made a mistake donating that money.
This past week, one of his campaign websites posted an item entitled "Behind the curtain: A brief history of Romney's donors." In the post, the Obama campaign named and shamed eight private citizens who had donated to his opponent. Describing the givers as all having "less-than-reputable records," the post went on to make the extraordinary accusations that "quite a few" have also been "on the wrong side of the law" and profiting at "the expense of so many Americans."
These are wealthy individuals, to be sure, but private citizens nonetheless. Not one holds elected office. Not one is a criminal. Not one has the barest fraction of the position or the power of the U.S. leader who is publicly assaulting them.
Remember when Richard Nixon was crucified over his "enemies list" and "abuse of power"?  This is one thousand times worse than anything Nixon allegedly did.  The mainstream media looks the other way when it comes to Obama.

The article ends on a perfect note:

The Obama campaign has justified any action on the grounds that it has a right to "hold the eventual Republican nominee accountable," but this is a dodge. Politics is rough, but a president has obligations that transcend those of a candidate. He swore an oath to protect and defend a Constitution that gives every American the right to partake in democracy, free of fear of government intimidation or disfavored treatment. If Mr. Obama isn't going to act like a president, he bolsters the argument that he doesn't deserve to be one.
Amen.  What we have here is a tyrant who recognizes no rules.

Strife May Be Excuse To Keep Obama In Office Through Martial Law

Back on March 16, President Obama signed an executive order giving the White House absolute control over all the country’s natural resources in case of a natural disaster or during a time of war.

According to Fox Nation, Obama "granted to himself the authority to approve the dispensing of all domestic energy, production, transportation, food, and water supplies as he deems necessary to protect national security."

This action was troubling to a great many people. And it should.

Fox Nation posted:

Despite the national defense hurdle that ostensibly must be jumped in order for the order to take effect, the text of the document itself does not limit implementation to a time of war. In fact, the specific sections of the order make it clear that the President can take complete command and control of the country’s natural resources in peacetime, as well.

Jim Garrison at The Huffington Post (hardly a stronghold of conservative thought) goes even further:

President Obama's National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order of March 16 does to the country as a whole what the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act did to the Constitution in particular -- completely eviscerates any due process or judicial oversight for any action by the Government deemed in the interest of "national security." Like the NDAA, the new Executive Order puts the government completely above the law, which, in a democracy, is never supposed to happen. The United States is essentially now under martial law without the exigencies of a national emergency.

Even as the 2012 NDAA was rooted in the Patriot Act and the various executive orders and Congressional bills that ensued to broaden executive power in the "war on terror," so the new Executive Order is rooted in the Defense Production Act of 1950 which gave the Government powers to mobilize national resources in the event of national emergencies, except now virtually every aspect of American life falls under ultimate unchallengeable government control, to be exercised by the president and his secretaries at their discretion.

Isn't it interesting that this action took place during an election year in which Obama is in political trouble and is in danger of being tossed out of office?

Isn't it also interesting that we've seen an escalation of political strife that is being orchestrated by Leftist allies of Obama? The Occupy movement. The attacks on Rush Limbaugh/conservative talk radio, their sponsors and Fox News. The phony "War on Women" campaign. The thuggery involving the Trayvon Martin incident (the New Black Panthers putting a bounty on George Zimmerman's head, Spike Lee's posting of an erroneous Zimmerman address, etc.). Union thuggery. The fermenting of racial strife. And so on.

All the while, the White House has not denounced any of this.

With all this going on, it wouldn't be at all surprising if Obama loses the election in November or if his pre-election poll numbers show him about to lose, he invokes this order and declares martial law to keep himself in office (Garrison feels we're already in martial law). I am not saying this will happen. But it is interesting that recent events seem to be pointing to the White House and political operatives allied with Obama.

I'm just saying. It is definitely food for thought.

Media Matters Thuggery Exposed In Memo

The Looney Left Report

Media Matters a supposed media watchdog group has targeted Fox News and Newsmax (amongst others) for harassment. All this is in close coordination with the Obama White House.

According to an article in Newsmax.com:

Newsmax and the Fox News Channel are among the conservative media entities targeted by an “opposition research team” formed by the left-wing media watchdog group Media Matters for America.

That eye-opening disclosure came to light in an internal Media Matters memo obtained by The Daily Caller, which lists targets including conservative websites, conservative think tanks, media outlets, and politicians.

A Media Matters memo actually went so far as to call for the hiring of private investigators to look into the private lives of Fox News employees and to harass them at their homes.

In addition to the Fox News Channel and Newsmax, the target list includes The Heritage Foundation, Cato Institute, Fox News websites, Fox Business Network, and the American Enterprise Institute.

Also on the list are several News Corp. executives, including Rupert Murdoch; Fox News executives, including CEO Roger Ailes; Fox personalities Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, and Sean Hannity; conservative donors; and politicians, including John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Mitch McConnell.

These actions against conservative media outlets may be illegal as Media Matters is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit group and partisan political activities are forbidden.

Tyranny In Action: Obama Intimidating GOP Donors

Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez must be smiling today.

President Barack Obama is reaching back to his thuggish Chicago politics roots. He is contemplating two means of attack against potential GOP donors. Does the term "abuse of power" sound familiar? This definitely smacks of Chicago politics or Venezuela.

FoxNews.com is reporting:

Is President Obama running scared? That’s certainly one explanation for two recent efforts to squash the flow of money into GOP campaign coffers.

Not only is the White House pushing an executive order requiring would-be federal contractors to disclose political donations – a proposal so blatantly partisan that even Democrats are crying foul – but now the IRS has climbed aboard by challenging gifts to politically involved not-for-profits.

The proposal demands that companies hoping to do business with the government disclose political gifts made within two years of the contract submission. A preview statement from Chairman Darrell Issa described “bipartisan alarm” over the suggested rule, which many think could lead to a “spoils system”. (A system, for instance, that would not be out of place in Chicago.) As Mr. Issa points out, noticeably absent from the White House Executive Order is any such requirement for unions.

Scurrying to develop other ways to clamp down on GOP money-raising and influence, the Obama administration also has the IRS scrutinizing gifts made to non-profit groups that have political leanings. The tax authority has sent letters to five wealthy donors questioning, for the first time, the treatment of gifts to such advocacy groups. President Obama has long been on the warpath against such entities, that are organized as 501(c)(4)s and that have become increasingly powerful vehicles for political activists.

If the goes through with these plans, it would be an obvious executive abuse of power (wasn't Richard Nixon crucified for using the IRS against political opponents?) and should be denied re-election or, if necessary, impeachment and removal from office.

Union Fires Worker Over USS George H.W. Bush Clothing

A union worker working in setting up a stage for President Obama's appearance today at the University of Southern California was fired by a union boss for wearing a cap and sweatshirt of the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush.

The union boss asked that the worker, identified as Duane Hammet, remove his hat and turn his sweatshirt inside out. Hammet refused.

According to Big Hollywood.com:

The IATSE (Local 33) union fired the worker even after he explained the shirt to his bosses. The shirt didn’t explicitly support George H.W Bush but that of the aircraft carrier named after the former President and the aircraft carrier his son has served on for the past many years and is currently deployed.

The stage at USC was for the campaign appearance of Obama supporting Democrat candidates such as Jerry Brown and Sen. Barbara Boxer.

It appears that the union thuggery state of Obama reared its ugly head again.

Mama's Boy Brad Sherman Still Won't Debate Mark Reed

Mama's boy Rep. Brad Sherman, D-CA, still won't debate his Republican opponent Mark Reed.

The closest thing to a Sherman-Reed debate came last July when Reed attended a public town hall meeting Sherman was holding at Temple Ramat Zion in Northridge. There, Sherman’s mother yelled at Reed, “You don’t belong here, you’re a bad man!” At least Sherman's mother has more cojones than her son.

This was the same meeting where armed Temple security guards, members of Sherman’s office, and the LAPD got in Reed's face.

Sherman is afraid to debate Reed as he'd have to defend his voting record in congress, his legislation on killing "Right-To-Work" laws and supporting cap-and-trade (the job-killing energy tax scheme).

According to Reed's campaign:

Congressman Brad Sherman continues to refuse a debate with Congressional Candidate Mark Reed on competing ideas of importance to Voters of the 27th District. Several community organizations have invited the Congressman and Mark to participate in a debate and the former has continued to reject them stating "These are unacceptable organizations to host a debate."

Just what exactly is an "acceptable" organization to host a debate? ACORN? The Communist Party USA?

That is just an excuse by Sherman to weasel out of defending his record. C'mon Brad, get out from under mama's apron and debate like a man!

Brad Sherman To Face Buzzsaw Again

There's one thing I have to give Rep. Brad Sherman credit for, and that's holding another town hall meeting in his district after going through buzzsaws during the last couple of them and putting his foot into his mouth.

I received this in an email from Sherman's office (click on image to view larger):

Last month, Sherman held a town hall meeting at a Jewish temple in which his operatives, along with rent-a-cop thugs and renegade LAPD officers, accosted his GOP opponent Mark Reed.

Then, he held another town hall meeting at Reseda High School in which Sherman said he wasn't aware of the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case, which made the national news and the radio talk shows.

That's why I have to give Sherman credit for facing the buzzsaw again on August 29.

Now, let's see if he has the cojones to agree to a one-on-one debate with Mark Reed. Thus far, he hasn't. Mark Reed's ancestors (he has Native American lineage) would probably call Sherman "Chief Bald Chicken."

Brad Sherman's Lousy Month

July has not been a good month for Rep. Brad Sherman. We are only a little more than half way through with the month!

It started out at a town hall meeting at a Jewish temple in which Sherman had GOP candidate Mark Reed bullied out of the meeting by rent-a-cop thugs and some rogue officers of the L.A.P.D.

Then, a YouTube video surfaced showing Sherman losing his cool while being questioned by a constituent.

And, finally, Sherman exposed his ignorance at another town hall meeting when he said he wasn't aware of the New Black Panthers voter intimidation matter from 2008. This received national news exposure, despite the "state-controlled-media's" silence on it. This story prompted talk show king Rush Limbaugh to call Sherman "hapless."

Despite registration numbers in the 27th Congressional District that favor the Democrats, Sherman seems to be pretty nervous over the upcoming election. Well, he should. He voted for the stimulous/porkulous bills, Obamacare and other Leftist pieces of legislation. Additionally, he also supports cap 'n trade.

Small wonder Sherman refuses to debate Reed. What a wienie!

Sherman should have more months like this.

Your Chickens Are Coming Home To Roost!

From Wikipedia:

The Christian concept of reaping what you sow from Galatians 6:7 can be considered equivalent to Karma.

According to karma, performing positive actions results in a good condition in one's experience, whereas a negative action results in a bad effect. The effects may be seen immediately or delayed. Delay can be until later in the present life or in the next.

Some people just don't seem to get the concept. They will pull dastardly deeds on people over the years and will scream bloody murder when the tables get turned on them. That is the way of the bully or thug.

They are of the type of person who "can dish it out, but can't take it" variety.

Sooner or later, karma will nail these people. When that happens, their "chickens are coming home to roost!"

Boycott Regency Centers and El Camino Shopping Center in Woodland Hills

The following message was received this morning:

As Of Yesterday, Village Coffee Roaster Closed It’s Doors

And Moved Out of the El Camino Shopping Center

Since Regency Shopping Centers (who own/run the El Camino Shopping Center in Woodland Hills) caused this, all I can say is to Boycott Regency Centers and El Camino Shopping Center in Woodland Hills for their thuggish behavior in this matter.

It appears that rather than spreading goodwill and cooperation with its tenants and the car clubs, their paying customers, they prefer to drive business away and they don't really deserve anyone's patronage.

They used harassment, intimidation and legal actions against customers and tenants. That's nothing but gestapo tactics in my book. If anyone has information on the "brownshirt" security company who harassed customers at the center, send me the information and I'll post it.

UPDATE: Here's the information on the "brownshirt" security company and the tactics they used:

Standing in the center of the parking lot, the security guards and a large dog have approached the classic car drivers as they drive in. One has operated as the process server, and with a stack of copies of the lawsuit and attempts to serve the drivers.

O’Linn Executive Security Services, the Agoura-based business hired by Regency Centers, would not comment on the allegations for this story.

O'Linn is located at 30423 Canwood Street Agoura Hills, CA 91301-4315 - (818) 707-4597.

They are licensed by the Department of Consumer Affairs - B.S.I.S. in Sacramento. Call them at (916) 322-4000 if you wish to file a complaint against O'Linn Executive Security Services.

UPDATE #2: This letter appears in today's Daily News:

Never go back

Re "Classic court battle" (Dec. 16):

A few weeks ago my wife and I decided to pick up a few items at the Vons in the El Camino Shopping Center. Being that my `32 Ford high boy was in the driveway, we decided to take her out. As I pulled onto the lot, we were stopped by a very unruly and unkempt security guard who verbally accosted us.

Never in my 66 years have I heard such language. He had no reason to talk to us that way. I tried to explain that if we are not welcome we'll leave. But no, he had to slap his hands down on my hood, and when I told him to take his hands off the car I was told "get out now or you won't be able to get out when I'm done with you."

We left, and as far as I am concerned, we will never go back to the El Camino Shopping Center again.

- HARVEY APPARIS

Canoga Park

The guard who accosted them isn't too bright. I guess he assumes that if someone drives into the center's parking lot in a vintage vehicle that automatically they must be there for a rally. Also, he made a threat to the writer, which is against the law. Definitely grounds to have his guard permits revoked and his employer sued.

Libertarians to Democrats: Call off the thugs

White House orders Dems to ‘punch back’ as union organizers attack citizens

WASHINGTON -- America’s third largest party Friday called on Democrats to end what appears to be a budding campaign of union violence targeted at citizens who differ with the White House at town hall meetings across the country. Libertarians oppose not only the White House’s plans for government-run medicine, but the use of violence to achieve political or social goals.

A Tampa Bay Tribune story and a video posted to the Drudge Report both report physical assaults on dissenting citizens by union organizers brought to meetings by Democrats. In Tampa, union organizers blocked citizens who differed with the White House from entering a public town hall with Rep. Kathy Castor (D-FL,) and allegedly scuffled with some of them. A video posted to YouTube appears to show union organizers physically attacking citizens who disagreed with the White House.

“The Libertarian Party is founded on one principle. We do not support the initiation of force to achieve political or social goals,” said Donny Ferguson, Libertarian National Committee Communications Director. “Democrats seem to think differently. When the Obama administration ordered Democrats to ‘punch back twice as hard’ against citizens who question them, Democrats responded. This Chicago-trained White House has brought Chicago-style union violence to small towns across America.”

“The White House told Democrat leaders Thursday to ‘punch back twice as hard’ when citizens express disapproval. That kind of irresponsible rhetoric is never proper when discussing popular dissent. They also made it clear they will bend Senate rules and force through government-run health care whether or not America supports it. That is a frightening departure from the traditional American practice of governing though popular will,” said Ferguson.

“If bringing in union thugs is an attempt by Democrats to scare citizens into not questioning them, it won’t work. Union violence may be how communities are organized in Chicago, but the American people won’t stand for people who think violence is the proper response to the fact they no longer have majority support.”

“Americans still believe in the consent of the governed. Libertarians urge Democrats to listen to the American people, call off their union enforcers and drop their wildly unpopular scheme of government-run medicine,” said Ferguson.

For more information on this issue, or to arrange an interview with the Libertarian Party, please call Director of Communications Donny Ferguson at 703-200-3669, or email DonnyFerguson@gmail.com.

The Libertarian Party is America's third-largest political party, founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties. You can find more information on the Libertarian Party by visiting http://www.LP.org. The Libertarian Party proudly stands for smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom.

Democrats Unraveling

The Democrats are unraveling. With protests against Obamacare mounting, the Democrats are calling upon their union thug allies to show up at townhall meetings and some are getting violent.

Here's a YouTube video of the Tampa meeting:

In Tampa, Florida, FoxNews is reporting:

A freelance videographer was roughed up in an altercation, which damaged his camera equipment and glasses, and at least one man was treated for minor injuries after a scuffle left his shirt partially torn from his body.

Union thugs push out opponents and close doors:

Elsewhere, it is reported:

Inside, Democratic lawmakers had a difficult time delivering their opening remarks, as they were met with shouts of "You work for us!'' "Tyranny! tyranny! tyranny!'' and "Read the bill!" the Tampa Tribune reported.

In Mehlville, Mo., St. Louis police arrested six people, some on assault charges, outside another forum that was billed as a meeting on aging but was attended by activists on both sides of the health care debate.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the police showed up toward the end of the forum held by Democratic Rep. Russ Carnahan. One conservative activist, interviewed at a local emergency room where he was being treated for injuries, said he was attacked by some of the individuals who were arrested as he passed out "Don't tread on me" flags.

FoxNews.com also is reporting:

Top White House officials counseled Democratic senators Thursday on coping with disruptions at public events on health care this summer, officials said, and promised the party and allies would respond with twice the force if any individual lawmaker is criticized in television advertising.

The Democrats are withering under the heat of protests.

Columnist Peggy Noonan wrote (I have not been a big fan of hers since her antics during last year's campaign, but she is calling it right today):

We have entered uncharted territory in the fight over national health care. There’s a new tone in the debate, and it’s ugly. At the moment the Democrats are looking like something they haven’t looked like in years, and that is: desperate.

They must know at this point they should not have pushed a national health-care plan. A Democratic operative the other day called it “Hillary’s revenge.” When Mrs. Clinton started losing to Barack Obama in the primaries 18 months ago, she began to give new and sharper emphasis to her health-care plan. Mr. Obama responded by talking about his health-care vision. He won. Now he would push what he had been forced to highlight: Health care would be a priority initiative. The net result is falling support for his leadership on the issue, falling personal polls, and the angry town-hall meetings that have electrified YouTube.

What the town-hall meetings represent is a feeling of rebellion, an uprising against change they do not believe in. And the Democratic response has been stunningly crude and aggressive. It has been to attack. Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the United States House of Representatives, accused the people at the meetings of “carrying swastikas and symbols like that.” (Apparently one protester held a hand-lettered sign with a “no” slash over a swastika.) But they are not Nazis, they’re Americans. Some of them looked like they’d actually spent some time fighting Nazis.

Obama Threatens California

The Los Angeles Times is reporting:

The Obama administration is threatening to rescind billions of dollars in federal stimulus money if Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and state lawmakers do not restore wage cuts to unionized home healthcare workers approved in February as part of the budget.

Schwarzenegger's office was advised this week by federal health officials that the wage reduction, which will save California $74 million, violates provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Failure to revoke the scheduled wage cut before it takes effect July 1 could cost California $6.8 billion in stimulus money, according to state officials.

As much as I opposed the stimulous bill and don't like the way Schwarzenegger and the Democrat-controlled legislature have run California into the ground fiscally, I find this move by the Obama Administration another example of thuggery, Chicago-style.

The Obama Administration isn't interested in keeping California (somewhat) solvent, it is more interested in pandering and giving paybacks to the labor unions.

Black Panther Thuggery For Obama

A poll observer in Philadelphia notified the police after witnessing what appeared to be voter intimidation by two members of the Black Panthers.

The two Black Panthers stood in the doorway of a polling location where the observer attempted to enter. One Panther was brandishing a nightstick, Fox News reported.

One of the panthers said “the black man was going to win the White House no matter what.”

The Black Panther with the nightstick apparently was taken into custody by the police. The other one argued with a reporter from Fox News.

More Obama thuggery you can believe in!

Obama Truth Squad Thuggery

As mentioned in my update on Obama: Thuggery You Can Believe In, the News 4 television station is trying to back off the report on prosecutor intimidation in the Missouri Obama "truth squads." They are now claiming that the story got "twisted."

Newsbusters.org posted this in response:

News 4 reporter Mills has more recently tried to back away from his original report:

“If they think a group has put out a misleading ad, they’re basically going to call a press conference and say the ad is misleading," reporter John Mills told the News-Leader on Sunday. "I’m sure the Republicans would do the same thing."

In his TV report, Mills said the prosecutors "also say that they plan to respond immediately to any ads and statements that might violate violate Missouri ethics laws."

..... In Mills' Sept. 23 report, there is no mention by St. Louis County Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Attorney Jennifer Joyce that they would invoke their prosecutorial powers to stop any perceived mistruths from being spread about the Democratic presidential candidate.

Horse manure.

These people are prosecutors.

How do prosecutors "respond" to actions they feel violate the law? They prosecute. Most reasonable viewers would have concluded that they were planning to act against "offenders" in their official capacities.

This backoff by Mills is baloney. The original plan, from the Obama campaign, comes from people who simply didn't realize how ugly what they were saying, planning, and probably still doing, sounds -- and is.

Like me, they aren't buying the "official" clarification. The Obama campaign has a track record of intimidation and threats against opponents. That is Chicago-style thuggery, plain and simple. Just ask the NRA, Stanley Kurtz and David Freddoso.

Additionally, The American Thinker posted this:

St. Louis prosecutor Jennifer Joyce, member of the Obama "Truth Squad" in Missouri made up of members of law enforcement pleads innocent to charges of intimidation of political foes.

The Political Fix has her statement:

As a citizen, I believe that elections should be about issues. I also have enormous respect for our First Amendment and freedom of speech. My sole purpose in participating in this initiative is about getting truthful information to the voters. This has never been or never will be about prosecuting people.

Clearly there are those who are attempting to twist the purpose of this initiative for their own benefit. This attack is a great example of how the truth is distorted in campaigns and what we're trying to stand up against.

Nice strawman, Jennifer. No one on this side is talking about prosecution either - only the threat of prosecution which everyone knows is a time honored tactic of prosecutors who desire a certain result in court but can't prove wrongdoing.

In this case, there's a little old thing called the First Amendment that stands in the way. But that wouldn't stop an aggressive prosecutor from sending letters hinting that opponents could be arrested if their version of the "truth" were in conflict with the official Obama line.

And where's MSM on this story? There's nothing but dead silence from them. Of course, if it were the McCain campaign doing this, the story would be on the front page of every newspaper and it would be the lead story on the television news.
