Make Your Counterfeit Coins Legal To Own

Did you know that counterfeit coins are illegal to possess, buy or sell?

According to ACEF, they are:

According to federal law, counterfeit coins are illegal to possess, buy or sell. Hence, once a victim becomes aware that a coin is counterfeit, he/she should turn it over to the nearest Secret Service agent or local law-enforcement official. Often that is impractical because of distance or law enforcement being reluctant to spend time to recover one or two counterfeit items, especially fake coins.

When I bought some counterfeit silver coins a few years ago through an ad in Facebook, I thought they looked wrong and tested them with a magnet. They stuck to the magnet. Silver is not magnetic. It turned out that they originated from China.

I notified the local sheriff and gave the coins to them as I was aware that they are illegal to possess. Thankfully, I got my money back when I notified my bank of the fraud.

However, one can possess counterfeit coins and ACEF tells you how to do so.

By the way, according to ACEF, the Morgan Dollar is the most counterfeited coin:

The Morgan silver dollar is the most frequently counterfeited U.S. coin, according to coin dealers responding to a survey conducted by the Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force in June 2018.

Woman Pleads Guilty In Graceland Scam

On the heals of the passing of Lisa Marie Presley, a Missouri woman tried to defraud the Presley Family and take possession of Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee.

Fortunately, the scheme was foiled and now the woman has plead guilty to a count of mail fraud.

From Billboard:

A Missouri woman has pleaded guilty to mail fraud for her role in an alleged scam to steal the Elvis Presley family’s ownership interest in the famed Graceland mansion.

Lisa Jeanine Findley, who has gone by various aliases including Lisa Holden and Lisa Howell, initially pleaded not guilty to mail fraud and aggravated identity theft last year. But during a hearing before a Memphis federal judge on Tuesday (Feb. 25), Findley agreed to plead guilty to one count of mail fraud. According to court documents, the other charge — a count of aggravated identity theft — will be dismissed as part of the plea deal.

Findley was arrested in August on the charges, with prosecutors alleging she posed as three different people affiliated with a fake company named Naussany Investments & Private Lending to claim that Presley’s daughter, the late Lisa Marie Presley, had utilized the music legend’s Memphis, Tenn., home as collateral for a $3.8 million loan she had failed to repay. Findley also allegedly falsified loan documents and forged the signatures of both Lisa Marie and a notary public in order to file a false deed of trust with the Shelby County Register’s Office, as well as a false creditor’s claim with the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles.

Judge Stops Graceland Foreclosure Sale

A Memphis judge has halted a foreclosure sale of Elvis Presley's Graceland mansion that was scheduled for today.

AP News reported:

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A judge on Wednesday said Elvis Presley’s estate could be successful in arguing that a company’s attempt to auction Graceland is fraudulent as he halted a foreclosure sale of the beloved Memphis tourist attraction.

Later Wednesday, a statement from someone who appeared to be a representative of the company said it would drop its claim, which the Presley estate has argued is based on fake documents. Online court records did not immediately show any legal filings suggesting the claim had been dropped.

Shelby County Chancellor JoeDae Jenkins issued a temporary injunction against the proposed auction that had been scheduled for Thursday in Memphis, where the king of rock ‘n’ roll’s former home is located. Jenkins’ injunction essentially keeps in place a previous restraining order issued at the request of Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough.

Gas Station Credit Card Scams On The Rise

In these days of Bidenflation, there are some out there who are scamming people and their credit or debit cards. The problem is on the rise, particularly at gas stations.

RV Travel has posted an article on not falling victim to gas station credit card scams.

They begin it with:

Picture this: You pull up to a gas station, swipe your card at the pump without a second thought, and go about your day. Harmless, right? Wrong. Gas station credit card scams have been on the rise across the country, leaving unsuspecting consumers vulnerable to identity theft and financial loss.

It’s been happening in my neighborhood lately and is the topic among local NextDoor and Facebook groups. It’s happening to our community members at grocery store gas stations, but it could happen anywhere… and it is.

Another Counterfeit Coin Facebook Ad

Facebook has been very lax in vetting advertising from so-called silver coin dealers and allowing obvious fraudulent ads appear on the social media platform.

The latest is a scheme to sell alleged proof American Silver Eagle coins with presentation boxes for $9.98 each by a company called Avaliry. This price is way below the current silver spot price of a little over $23.00/toz. 

I bought an American Silver Eagle Proof coin directly from the U.S. Mint at the National Money Show for $80.00. While doing so, the director of the U.S. Mint, Ventris C. Gibson, autographed my purchase.

Other similar ads have been popping up on Facebook with the same format (under different names) using a video. Some were even offering the "proof" coins for $7.98 each. No doubt these are Chinese counterfeits.

Silver Coins, Promised Profits and An Empty Vault

It is too bad that there are crooked people out there, even within the coin and bullion investing industry.

A silver dealer was recently fined $146 million for defrauding investors on American Silver Eagle coins that mysteriously vanished from the dealer's vaults. This involved two companies this particular dealer ran.

According to Yahoo! Finance:

Hundreds of depositors who handed millions to a silver dealer in exchange for precious minted coins were told their vaults were actually empty following an investigation by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Two firms run by precious metals dealer Robert Higgins have been ordered to pay out  $112.7 million to the victims of an alleged complex fraudulent scheme, and $33 million in a civil monetary penalty.

The investigation into Higgins and two connected companies began last year.

According to a statement from the CFTC, between 2014 and 2022 Higgins conducted a fraudulent silver leasing scheme via two companies: Argent Asset Group LLC (Argent) and First State Depository Company, LLC.

The scheme

The plot, sold to customers as the 'Maximus Program', offered to pay owners of silver coins a lease fee in exchange for Argent's use of the commodity.

The payments were on a "scale" and would increase or decrease depending on how many of their coins the client was willing to offer.

The coins were either already owned by the customers, or could supposedly be purchased through Argent, and were apparently in storage at a vault owned by First State Depository Company in Delaware.

Customers were also told their investments were guaranteed and fully insured.

Coins such as these—silver American Eagle dollars—are often purchased by investors who want to see something tangible for their money, as opposed to government bonds or stocks.

Maggie Toulouse-Oliver Used Illegal Software to Combine Election Results

George Soros-backed New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Loulouse-Oliver appears to have used illegal software to combine election results and tried to cover it up, according to an article in the Gateway Pundit.

According to the article:

As the Democrat-controlled New Mexico legislature barrels ahead with legislation that would put the nail in the coffin of honesty and transparency in New Mexico’s elections, the corruption of the Secretary of State (SOS), Maggie Toulouse Oliver, continues to be exposed.

After hearing public testimony during a November Torrance County public meeting, the Estancia News has done a deep dive on how election results in New Mexico are finalized, or “canvassed.”  It turns out the SOS has illegally centralized this process, cutting out the clerks, and breaking multiple state and federal laws in the process.

This series of articles will outline the framework put in place by Toulouse-Oliver and corrupt Senator Daniel Ivey-Soto that could be the mechanism used to illegally undermine elections in New Mexico. 

WHAT DOES NEW MEXICO LAW SAY ABOUT REQUIRING COUNTY CLERKS–NOT THE SOS–TO PERFORM ELECTION CANVASSES?

During the canvass, each of the county clerks are to create a “report of the canvass” which gives detailed election results by ballot type and precinct for all the races on the ballot.  State law explicitly states that the canvass report is the sole responsibility of the county clerk: “The county clerk shall:  prepare the report of the canvass of the election returns by carefully examining the returns of each precinct to ascertain if they contain the properly executed certificates required by the Election Code and to ascertain whether any discrepancy, omission or error appears on the face of the election returns.” (NMSA 1-2-31.F). 

Next, the County Commission must review the canvass report and other election documents and accept them if they find no errors, thus certifying the election in the county.  Only after this process has been completed within the county are the canvass reports to be sent up to the SOS for the completion of the state canvass, which combines the individual county’s canvass reports into the official election results for the state.

Democrats Elect 2 Dead People, Plus Fetterman

It has been widely reported that Democrats use dead people to cheat in elections over the years.

Well, the following will top that. They elected two dead people, plus John Fetterman.

According to Headline USA:

(Headline USA) Democrat voters elected two dead people on Tuesday night, one in Pennsylvania and another in Tennessee, according to reports.

In Pennsylvania, Democrat Tony DeLuca, who died last month of lymphoma, was reelected over Green Party challenger Queonia “Zarah” Livingston. Election officials claimed that because his death occurred so close to the election, they could not change the ballots in time. Now, a special election must be held to choose a proper candidate to take his seat.

In Tennessee, voters elected state Rep. Barbara Ward, who died in October. Her funeral was held on Nov. 5.

She won 73% of the vote, while her Republican challenger Michael Porter won 27%.

“Memphis elected a deceased Democrat to the Tennessee state house. The Bluff City prefers dead Democrats over live Republicans,” said conservative talkshow host Todd Starnes.

Tuesday night’s election results in Pennsylvania were largely a disappointment, with GOP gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano losing handily to Democrat Josh Shapiro, and Democrat Senate candidate John Fetterman beating Republican Mehmet Oz.

Some Twitter users joked that Pennsylvania voters elected not just one, but two dead people, citing Fetterman’s serious mental incapacitation following a stroke he suffered earlier this year.

One of them, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez was photographed being led away by police supposedly handcuffed.

A closer look reveals that she was not handcuffed.

Cassidy Hutchinson Texts Leak - Make Her Look Like Fraud

Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony before the January 6 congressional kangaroo court is falling apart.

Before she testified before the committee, she was singing a different tune and even sought legal help through CPAC.

The Western Journal reported:

It has been revealed that Cassidy Hutchinson, the Democrat’s surprise star witness at its January 6 show trials, was singing a different tune months ago in text messages where she called the left-wing kangaroo court a bunch of “BS.”

Hutchinson, a former aide to President Donald Trump’s White House chief of staff Mark Meadows in 2020, was brought in for what the Democrats and their compliant media operatives called “bombshell” testimony, though most of what she said was quickly debunked as fake news. After it was all said and done, it was more fizzle than bombs, but the left played it as big, big news.

Indeed, after her testimony, the cameras caught a telling moment when embattled Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney was seen throwing her arms around Hutchinson and offering great thanks for her quickly discredited claims.

During her testimony, Hutchinson made several key claims, none of which ring true.

In one case, she claimed that Donald Trump actually assaulted members of the Secret Service and tried to take control of the presidential SUV on Jan. 6 with the intention of driving to the Capitol Building to join the rioting there.

Hutchinson testified that Tony Ornato, former Trump Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, told this story to her in the days after the riot.

But since then, Ornato says that he was nowhere near Trump and the SUV and that he never heard such a story before — and he certainly never told any such tale to Hutchinson.

$200 Million Spaceport America Lawsuit Starting To Get National Attention

The $200 million lawsuit by the former CFO of Spaceport America is starting to garner national news. 

The story is being widely reported in New Mexico and this does not bode well for Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who is up for re-election this year.

She already has problems with other financial, coronavirus lockdowns and sexual groping scandals. 

The story has been picked up by U.S. News & World Report via the Associated Press.

They start it with:

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The former chief financial officer for the New Mexico Spaceport Authority filed a whistleblower lawsuit alleging that he was forced to resign after raising concerns about financial malfeasance that he said cost taxpayers millions of dollars.

Among numerous allegations, Zach DeGregorio said in the lawsuit filed Dec. 28 that top officials committed securities fraud by refinancing spaceport gross receipts tax bonds under false pretenses.

He also said secret meetings held between state officials and Spaceport America’s most notable tenant — Virgin Galactic — may have resulted in violations of the state's anti-donation law, which restricts government donations to personal and private-sector enterprises as a precaution against graft and corruption.

The civil complaint filed in state district court lists numerous officials, including Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, Economic Development Secretary Alicia Keyes, officials with the New Mexico Finance Authority and members of the Spaceport Authority board.

According the a recent post by The Hill, Lujan Grisham is one of the most vulnerable governors this election year. Small wonder, considering she's loaded with scandals. She has raised over $2 billion in campaign contributions.

Ex-Spaceport America CFO Files $200 Million Lawsuit Against Gov. Lujan Grisham and Others

Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham bankrupted 40% of New Mexico's small businesses with her lockdowns during the last two years, now she is about to sock it to the rest of the state if a $200 million lawsuit against her and other state government officials succeeds.

The Piñon Post reported:

On Monday, Zach DeGriego, the former Chief Financial Officer of Spaceport America from December 21, 2015, to June 21, 2020, announced he had filed a civil complaint in the First Judicial District Court against Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham over an alleged fraud of $200 million.

In a statement, DeGriego said:

I’ve never spoken about this publicly until now, but the continued retaliation from New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and her staff has forced me to make this statement to set the record straight,” DeGriego said in a video statement.

“Many of you know I was the former chief financial officer of Spaceport America in New Mexico. I left that position after making multiple whistleblower complaints. I was forced to resign when I had to choose between keeping my job and committing crimes. After the governor and her staff got rid of me they have done everything in their power to retaliate against me and destroy my life to keep me silent.”

“At the same time, they proceeded to violate multiple federal laws. Today, I have filed a lawsuit against the State of New Mexico for violations of the New Mexico whistleblower protection act and malfeasance by the state auditor. The complaint names 21 individuals who participated in a conspiracy including leaders at the highest levels of state government including Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, Attorney General Hector Balderas, New Mexico State Auditor Brian Colón, Economic Development Cabinet Secretary Alicia Keys, and current managers at Spaceport America.” 

“The complaint provides evidence of extortion, bribery, illegal drug use, sex discrimination, procurement fraud, securities fraud, and multiple violations of federal law. The complaint describes how after I left, the defendants proceeded to commit over $200 million in fraud when they issued bonds under false pretenses with disclosure documents containing fraudulent information.” 

This, no doubt, is going to be interesting to follow as things develop.

Cheating RV Dealers Hit With Fine and Orders

Over the years, I have seen complaints in RV forums about the RV dealer industry where unfair and dishonest practices took place such as "bait-and-switching" and excessive repair times.

Many states don't even bother to investigate or prosecute these dealers for their practices. But, according to an article in RV Travel, at least New York state has taken action against a couple of dealers. Other states should make note of this and protect consumers similarly.

The article begins with:

Two major national RV retailers have been hit with strict orders and one with a $50,000 fine by New York state. RV One Superstores, Inc. and RV Retailer East, LLC signed off on agreements after the New York Attorney General’s office investigated complaints by consumers. The two outfits were found to have cheated customers in multiple ways. They also dragged their feet when making repairs to customers’ RVs.

RV One Superstores previously owned Albany RV in Latham, New York, and Buffalo RV in West Seneca. The big outfit sold both of these dealerships to RV Retailer in December 2018. Even before the sale, consumers raised a hue and cry that both Albany and Buffalo cheated customers. The complaints were made both to the Attorney General and to the Better Business Bureau.

Pet Angels: Is It Jax or Not?

The following video reminds me of when I worked for United Pacific/Reliance Insurance Companies back 40 years ago.

Some of the company's insureds were cemeteries, mortuaries and crematoriums. There was a spell in which liability claims were coming of missing cremains, co-mingled cremains and other claims involving cremains. If screw-ups like this can be done with human cremains, it can also happen with pets.

The topic of the video by Eric Jacobs, the Nomadic Fanatic, concerns the cremains of Jacobs's late cat Jax.

When he received the package from Pet Angels, a pet cremation company, Jacobs noticed something amiss. The card with Jax's paw print seemed to be from another cat. In the video, at one point Jacobs held up the paw print image to the camera, I noticed immediately that the print couldn't have been Jax's.

The paw print Jacobs received had four toes. Jax was a rarity, he had seven toes on both front paws as a polydactyl cat.

Now, it could be the technician who made the paw print may have missed the extra toes. There's no way of knowing. Also, this leaves doubt in Jacobs's mind whether the cremains in the urn are actually Jax's (Jacobs paid for a private, single cremation) and the lock(s) of fur that were sent with the urn were Jax's.

Understandably, Jacobs is quite upset with Pet Angels.

On the fur, a DNA test can be done on the fur sent with fur on Jax's brush or veterinary blood samples. Pet Angels should be willing to pick up the cost of a DNA test to prove they were on the up & up.

Still, this boils down to the big question: Is everything actually Jax's or not? Pet Angels definitely has a major public relations problem over this.
