CA Politician Calls For Fixing Prostitution Problem By Legalizing It

California is in a mess in many ways. Much of it is due to Democrat crime policies that have turned the once "Golden State" into a shithole.

Now, the state has a prostitution problem that is out-of-control thanks to a law signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom (who else?) decriminalizing it.

Now there are calls to legalize prostitution to solve the problem. Right, that's really going to solve it.

Fox News reported:

A San Francisco County leader voiced support to legalize prostitution in the city as brazen soliciting spirals across the state after a new law took effect this year.

"What’s happening right now on Capp Street is it’s become more brazen, and bigger than we’ve ever seen it before," county Supervisor Hillary Ronen told The Los Angeles Times last week.

"Instead of repeating the same cycle that we’ve repeated for decades, it’s time to try something new."

Ronen called the situation "out of control" in comments to the San Francisco Chronicle, and pushed for San Francisco to install barriers on Capp Street in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District, after it became lined with prostitutes and pimps.

This week, she is expected to announce a resolution that will urge state lawmakers to legalize prostitution.

"I don’t think this is going to happen tomorrow. This would be a major change in policy and direction," Ronen told The LA Times "I certainly won’t be the first person to try to urge the legalization of prostitution, and I won’t be the last."

The surge in prostitution and apparent human trafficking in California comes after a change in law took effect last month that repealed a ban on loitering with the intent to engage in prostitution. The bill's sponsor, Democratic state Sen. Scott Wiener, argued the change would protect transgender women whom he said are disproportionately targeted by police.

Democrats would really love to legalize prostitution so they can tax it. Just watch!

Return To Brothel Land

Above, Donna's Ranch, one of the brothels of Wells, Nevada. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

As of now, I'm almost days away from heading to Wells, Nevada for this year's Wells Fun Run car show and rally. It was in Wells last year that I had my little heart episode that led to two stents into my artery in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Hopefully, this year will be more of a fun time and that we will be in Jackson, Wyoming after the Wells Fun Run to do some sight-seeing of Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park and whitewater rafting on the Snake River.

It was interesting to see the brothels in Wells and in Ely, Nevada. Prostitution is legal in some Nevada counties, but is heavily regulated.

It is interesting to note that the brothels offer tours.

Above, Mitch, Bill and I last year in Wells. The next day, my Mustang shirt was cut to shreds by the paramedics.

I was, understandably, reluctant in going back this year (returning to the "scene of the crime"), but one of our friends since junior high school, Bill Wilson, has come down with a blood cancer (he had to retire from trucking a few months ago because of it). He is undergoing chemo and blood transfusions. We are hopeful the treatments are working.

As such, this may be the last time Bill, Mitch Geriminsky and I can get together in a fun setting. That is why I decided to go this year. Since we'll be almost "in the neighborhood", a trip to Jackson was added to the itinerary.

Last year, I was pleasantly surprised how different northern Nevada is from the dry desert of the south.

On Monday, The Beast will be getting an oil change and trip check in preparation for the trek.

Looney Left Report: Democrats In California Just Legalized Child Prostitution

Yes, you read that headline correctly!

Just when you thought that the Democrats who control the state legislature, along with Governor Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown, couldn't do any more crazy things, that notion gets severely dispelled.

According to the Washington Examiner (and this is no joke):
Beginning on Jan. 1, prostitution by minors will be legal in California. Yes, you read that right.
SB 1322 bars law enforcement from arresting sex workers who are under the age of 18 for soliciting or engaging in prostitution, or loitering with the intent to do so. So teenage girls (and boys) in California will soon be free to have sex in exchange for money without fear of arrest or prosecution.
This terribly destructive legislation was written and passed by the progressive Democrats who control California’s state government with a two-thirds “supermajority.” To their credit, they are sincere in their belief that decriminalizing underage prostitution is good public policy that will help victims of sex trafficking. Unfortunately, the reality is that the legalization of underage prostitution suffers from the fatal defect endemic to progressive-left policymaking: it ignores experience, common sense and most of all human nature — especially its darker side.
The unintended but predictable consequence of how the real villains — pimps and other traffickers in human misery — will respond to this new law isn’t difficult to foresee. Pimping and pandering will still be against the law whether it involves running adult women or young girls. But legalizing child prostitution will only incentivize the increased exploitation of underage girls. Immunity from arrest means law enforcement can’t interfere with minors engaging in prostitution — which translates into bigger and better cash flow for the pimps. Simply put, more time on the street and less time in jail means more money for pimps, and more victims for them to exploit.
To see that this is REALLY not a joke, go here.

And, it that not enough to make a good, red-blooded American's hair turn grey, here's something from political commentator G. H. Thornhill:
Want more fun news? Starting next year about 50,000 felons, many still in prison, will be allowed to vote in state elections. And how about this one: next year if you go hunting with a friend and let him (or her) use your shotgun you will be breaking the law. I don't think it's possible for the California legislature to have their head any more up their arse than they do now.
Maybe we need a "sanctuary state" to get away from lunatic liberal Democrats!

Stewardess Salaries Drop, Some Turn To Part-Time Prostitution

Above, an ad for a Yokohama "delivery health" outcall service with a flight attendant theme.

It appears that salaries for flight attendants in Japan aren't what they used to be.

The Tokyo Reporter has posted a story that says slumping salaries are forcing some flight attendants to take up the world's oldest profession on a part-time basis in order to supplement their incomes.

They reported:
According to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, salaries for Japan’s flight attendants have slumped significantly over the past decade.
From 2004 to 2013, the average annual wage of a stewardess, aged between 25 and 29, dropped from 4.98 million to 3.91 million yen, the report said.
This has lead to some stewardesses engaging in a selection of sultry services on the side, reports Shukan Post (Dec. 26), which provides a number of confessionals.
One such service is a "delivery health" outcall sex service that specializes in stewardesses.
