Thunderstorms May Be Back

Above, the weather was clear, sunny and warm two days ago. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

According to The Weather Channel app, it is 34° outside right now. Autumn is obviously here.

As for the next couple of days, it looks like we may be getting some thunderstorm activity, at least that's what the National Weather Service says. But they've been notoriously wrong many times. We received no precipitation during the time I was in Arizona last week.

Last year, I noticed that The Weather Channel's forecasts were more accurate than those of the National Weather Service.

We'll see.

Anyway, here's what the National Weather Service forecasts for Jamestown, New Mexico:

Today
Isolated showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 10%.
Tonight
Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 49. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Friday
Scattered showers and thunderstorms before noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 72. South wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
