Found Chase & Sanborn Coffee After 20 Years

For 20 weeks in 2003-2004, there was a supermarket strike in Southern California against four supermarket chains by the  United Food and Commercial Workers union. One of the affected chains was Ralphs Markets (Kroger), were my mom and I shopped.

During the strike, some products were not available. One of them was Chase & Sanborn coffee, my favorite coffee brand.

When the strike ended, some products returned but Chase & Sanborn coffee didn't. It wasn't available anywhere. I had to switch to Maxwell House coffee. It was pretty close to Chase & Sanborn in flavor. I haven't seen it any Chase & Sanborn since.

The other day, I thought about it and did some searching to see what happened to it. Well, I never did find the answer, but I did find that it was still available and found some at Amazon, of all places. So I ordered a 30.5 ounce can and it arrived yesterday and I picked it up from the post office this morning.

As soon as my current batch of Maxwell House is gone, I'll be making myself some Chase & Sanborn coffee. I hope it is still as good as it was 20 years ago.

Teamsters Upset Over Ronchetti UPS Visit

One has to give the Mark Ronchetti credit for entering into "enemy territory" when he paid a visit to a UPS warehouse in Rio Rancho yesterday. 

Their union has endorsed Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham in this year's gubernatorial campaign. This is not surprising or unusual, for the union bosses are nothing more than Democrat operatives. The rank-in-file workers welcomed Ronchetti.

Now they're pissed off over Ronchetti's morning visit to the workers.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican:

A Teamsters union that represents UPS drivers delivered a sharp rebuke to Mark Ronchetti on Tuesday after the Republican gubernatorial candidate promoted a visit to a UPS warehouse in Rio Rancho.

Just before 9:30 a.m., Ronchetti took to Twitter to thank UPS for opening its warehouse doors to send off their drivers before their shifts.

“Working New Mexicans are ready for a government that listens and cares about its constituents,” he tweeted along with photos of him speaking to what appeared to be dozens of UPS drivers and shaking hands with one of them. “On November 8, we will give them that!”

Tuesday afternoon, Teamsters Local 492 took to Facebook to decry the visit, writing it was “management” who invited Ronchetti to speak to a room of union members.

“Ronchetti does not represent our Teamster values and we despise his use of UPS teamsters as a prop this morning, to advance his anti-worker agenda,” the union wrote.

The union cited the governor’s “strong record delivering for New Mexico workers and their families.”

People need to be reminded that Lujan Grisham's "strong record" for delivering for New Mexico workers includes using the State Police as her personal Gestapo to harass, terrorize and shut down businesses during the past two years.  About 40% of New Mexico businesses have been permanently shuttered due to Lujan Grisham's edicts, killing off thousands of jobs in the process.

Her record stinks, to put it mildly.

Democrats Saddled California With a $1.3 Trillion Debt

The loony California one-party state government (of, by and for the Democrat Party) has saddled the state's taxpayers with an enormous debt.

Much of this is from the giveaways the Democrats handed the public employee unions (their buddies) with over-the-top pensions and other benefits.

The California Policy Center reported:\

We estimate that California state and local governments owe $1.3 trillion as of June 30, 2015. Our analysis is based on a review of federal, state and local financial disclosures. The total includes bonds, loans and other debt instruments as well as unfunded pension and other post-employment benefits promised to public sector employees. Our estimate of California government debt represents about 52% of California’s Gross State Product of $2.48 trillion. When added to the state’s share of the national debt, we find that California taxpayers are shouldering debt burdens on a par with residents of peripheral Eurozone states. 

Not included are billions of dollars in deferred maintenance and upgrades to California’s infrastructure. To the extent California’s government has not maintained investment in infrastructure maintenance and upgrades to keep up with normal wear and to keep pace with an expanding population, it has passed this cost on to future generations who will have to issue additional debt to pay for this expense. 

This is an update of a 2013 California Policy Center study entitled “Calculating California’s Total State and Local Government Debt.” That study reported total debt between $848 billion and $1.1 trillion. While we retain confidence in the findings of this earlier analysis, our new estimate incorporates a more comprehensive array of data sources and updated methodologies.

I am so glad that I left Commiefornia. If a state official claims there's a budget surplus, they're lying through their teeth. California voters stupidly keep re-electing these crooks.
