For those of you who are curious about the Godzilla rooms at Shinjuku, Tokyo's Hotel Gracery, U.S. News & World Report Best Countries travel page has an article that will give you an excellent idea on what to expect.
Here's a snippet:
TOKYO — At the press of a button, the bed starts shaking and a TV screen switches on. What looks to be live news footage from a helicopter shows a plume of black smoke arising from Tokyo’s skyscrapers. Somewhere, a monster roars. Unable to identify the cause of what seems to be an alien attack, the helicopter attempts to get closer to the fiery scene. The screen goes blurry and the rest is history.
This simulated attack is just one of several displays inside the “Godzilla Room” at the Shinjuku Gracery Hotel in Tokyo.I tried to book one of the Godzilla rooms while planning our October 2015 trip. Unfortunately, they were booked up during our visit, which is not too surprising.
