COVID-19 Vaccination #1 Done

Above, the little sticker I received after getting shot #1. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I set an appointment for COVID19 vaccination for Monday of next week (February 8).

This evening, after I had dinner, the clinic called me at 4:25 and said I had an appointment for today. I told them that was not the case and they said if I could get there by 5:00, I could get the first shot today.

I told them that I set an appointment for next Monday online and gave them my information, they checked and found no record of that set appointment, even with the confirmation number I was given. Definitely a screwed up system!

Nobody called me to set today's appointment and until this call, I had not been contacted by anyone. I told them it'll be close for me to get there by 5:00 as I am 20 miles away .

After getting off the phone, I headed to Gallup. I got there with four minutes to spare (our 75 mph speed limit helped). I got the vaccination almost immediately after completing some paperwork.

My next appointment (I have it in writing) is for February 23.

At least I got the first part done. Before I left the clinic, they handed me a little sticker. Reminds me of the "I voted!" stickers.
