Classic Rock Music Monday

Happy New Year!

The stuff that now passes as "music", particularly rock 'n roll, leaves me cold. So, to start off the week, here's a video of a classic rock artist.

Since today is New Year's Day, here's one from a historic concert from New Year's Eve in 1969 at the Fillmore East of the Band of Gypsys (Jimi Hendrix (guitar, vocals), Buddy Miles (drums, vocals) and Billy Cox (bass). The song is "Message of Love" (mis-titled "Message To Love").

Interesting note: Concert selections were released on the album, Band of Gypsys, through Capitol Records to settle a lawsuit. Jimi Hendrix did not like the photo used on the album cover. He felt that it conveyed capitulation or something of the sort.
