Reagan and Mike Wallace: Fascism

1975 Interview: Former Gov. Ronald Reagan with Mike Wallace of 60 Minutes:

Friday, December 29, 2023

Maine's Fascist Secretary of State Shenna Bellows

Now, under fascist Democrat "logic", challenging the results of a possible fraudulent election is now "insurrection". At least that's according to Maine's leftist Democrat secretary of state.

CBS News reported:

Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows says she was following Maine's election law and upholding the U.S. Constitution when she disqualified Donald Trump from her state's presidential primary ballot.

Maine is the second state to bar Trump from the ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution — a decision the Trump campaign said it would appeal. It is the only state where a challenge to a candidate's qualification is initially the responsibility of the secretary of state rather than a court.

CBS News spoke with Bellows shortly after the release of her decision Thursday night.

The interview was restricted to a discussion of her ruling and the process, leaving unanswered questions about risks to her potential safety. In the wake of the Colorado Supreme Court's ruling to disqualify Trump from holding office — a ruling that's currently on hold pending appeal — the Colorado justices who voted to bar him have been inundated with threats.

"In evaluating the weight of the evidence, it (was) made clear that Mr. Trump was aware of the tinder that was laid in a multi-month effort to delegitimize the 2020 election and (he) then chose to light a match," said Bellows, a Democrat who took office in 2021.

"The U.S. Constitution does not tolerate an assault on the foundations of our government. And Maine election law required me to act in response," she said. "The events of January 6 were unprecedented and tragic. It was an assault not only on the Capitol and government officials, including the former vice president and members of Congress, but on the rule of law itself. … Mr. Trump engaged in that insurrection and thereby, is not qualified to be on the ballot."

Trump has already appealed Colorado's Supreme Court decision to the U.S. Supreme Court. If the U.S. Supreme Court rules in Trump's favor, this will have big ramifications on states where Democrats are using similar tactics. This is nothing less than a conspiracy of election interference in the Republican Presidential Primary by the Democrat Party.

8 Disturbing Similarities Between the Democrat and Nazi Parties

Over the years, the Democrat Party has been likened to either the Nazi Party of Germany or the communist parties of other nations.

Those comparisons have been, for the most part, ignored by people until recent years as people are seeing stark examples.

The American Thinker has posted an article by D. Parker on the 8 similarities between the Democrat and Nazi Parties. It is an article that everyone should read, I recommend sharing it.

It begins with:

Steve McCann's "Eight Startling and Uncomfortable Ways the Democrat Party Emulates the Nazi Party" was just the tip of the National Socialist iceberg.

The fascist far left have always had to lie to survive.  They've always been on the wrong side of history, and the only way they can remain viable is by gaslighting people on a full-time basis.  For decades, their biggest lie has been that the supposedly pro-freedom side of the political spectrum, imbued in the precepts of individual liberty and limited government, is somehow connected to totalitarian collectivist regimes that displayed the exact opposite of those values.

Anyone who has debated leftists for the past few decades has been subjected to the same bluff abuse in their trying to maintain that nonsensical lie.  But the close similarities between fascism and communism have been obvious for at least 75 years:

"In certain basic respects — a totalitarian state structure, a single party, a leader, a secret police, a hatred of political, cultural and intellectual freedom — fascism and communism are clearly more like each other than they are like anything in between".

—Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr., Associate Professor of History at Harvard, New York Times Magazine, Sunday, April 4, 1948

Even if you set aside the preposterous argument that totalitarians would also be proponents of liberty and limited government, there are still a myriad of parallel characteristics between the Democrat party and the National Socialist German Workers' (Nazi) Party.  That's what was so startling about the first eight ways.

Our follow-up along those lines will make the case even more.

Daily Caller: "Full Monty Mussolini"

His Fraudulency Joe Biden has kicked off a huge backlash over his speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

For one thing, using two Marines as props behind Biden at a political speech didn't sit too well with many.

But, the biggest outcry was over the speech itself. He's now trying to walk back his comments.

From the Daily Caller:

President Joe Biden’s Thursday evening speech targeting supporters of former President Donald Trump was mocked on social media, with many users poking fun at the stage.

The speech, held in Philadelphia, marked continued attacks on supporters of Trump, reiterating earlier attacks in which he claimed Republicans embraced “semi-fascism” at an Aug. 25 fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee in Maryland, and also attacked “MAGA Republicans” during a Tuesday speech in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Biden called “MAGA Republicans” a threat to democracy and doubled down on his rhetoric calling supporters of former President Donald trump “extremists.”

WMAL talk show host Larry O’Connor threw the epithet Biden directed at Republicans back at the president.

“Dude… This isn’t even ‘semi’ fascist,” O’Connor posted on Twitter. “This is full monty Mussolini.”

Michael Moore's 28th Amendment

The NRA posted this on Twitter:

As one responder put it:

“Sometimes it’s not a question of whether someone’s a fool, but how big a fool can a fool be”

(This country is already trending fascist from the Left … this would make it all too easy to go there …)

Undoubtedly, this would be an invitation to Civil War.

Papers, Please! Los Angeles County To Require All Theme Park Goers Be Vaccinated

Above, visitors to theme parks like Universal Studios will have to show proof
of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to enter. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

The fascism never ends in Democrat-controlled locales.

The latest is in the County of Los Angeles where thrill-seekers wishing to enter a theme park has to show proof of vaccination to enter starting next month.

According to Travel + Leisure:

Thrill-seekers in Los Angeles will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to enter theme parks next month, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced.

Starting Oct. 7, anyone heading to a theme park within Los Angeles county, including Universal Studios Hollywood and Six Flags Magic Mountain, will have to show proof they have been vaccinated or received a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arriving, according to the department of health. Children under 12 are exempt.

The mandate applies to venues "with more than 10,000 attendees that are ticketed and/or have controlled points of entry to a well-defined area."

Turn New Mexico Red 2020 Facebook Page Disabled

Administrator Audrey Trujillo has posted an announcement that the Facebook page, Turn New Mexico Red 2020 has been disabled by Facebook. She posted the above graphic.

This is a large conservative political group page (over 20,000 members) and Audrey said that no explanation was given on what specific post or posts didn't adhere to Facebook's "community standards". Talk about cowardly actions in disabling a page with no explanation.

This is just another example of the censoring of conservative opinion by the Left. "Community standards"? Meaning: not following leftist/liberal dogma?

First, Facebook blocked Gary Julian's The Federalist blog and now they do this.

Democrat Leaders Need To Stop The Mobs

The Looney Left Report

The tactics of the Left of harassing members of the Trump Administration, congressional members and supporters is becoming more frequent. These actions are nothing less than fascist mob tactics.

Fox Business's Stuart Varney has an excellent video and article.

It begins with:
Maxine Waters famously encouraged her followers to harass anyone connected to President Trump. She said: “If you see anyone in a restaurant, department store, gas station, you create a crowd. Tell them they are not welcome.”
That is exactly what the left did to two conservatives who are regulars on this program. Charlie Kirk and Candice Owens.
They walked into a café in Philadelphia. Four Antifa people were already inside. Far-left people, shock troops – they got on their phones and organized a crowd. That’s right out of Maxine Waters’ playbook: create a crowd. Within minutes they were outside shouting about Nazis. The two conservatives paid their check, walked outside and were immediately surrounded by a hostile crowd. Someone emptied a bottle of water over Charlie’s head. Others blew whistles right in Candice’s face. It was ugly. White kids screaming about white supremacy at a young black woman, and black police officers.
It’s time for Democrat leaders to lay down the law: step up and tell their violent supporters to knock it off. That would be the responsible thing to do.

Socialist Democratic Party

Above, socialists have taken over the California state govenment.

"Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They always run out of other people’s money." - Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

One must be living in a void or just not paying attention to the fact that the Democratic Party is no longer the Democratic Party of your grandparents or even your parents. The Democratic Party has been taken over by a radical fringe of socialists and, incredibly, communists.

The same people who have been trying to smear President Trump and, in some cases the Republican Party as "Nazis" or "fascists" have been embracing socialism, that great philosophy that has ruined Venezuela and other countries (Mexico may be next as a radical socialist has just been elected president. They have taken over the state of California and made a mess of it.

Do you ever wonder why Democrats don't take umbrage over being labeled "socialists" or even "communists" as Republicans rail against being labeled "Nazis" and "fascists"? In so many cases with the Democrats, it is just flat out true!

Small wonder that some liberals (of a more traditional Democrat sense) have started the #WalkAway movement.

AP News has an interesting article on the rise of socialists in the Democratic Party, particularly the Democratic Socialists of America.

Here's part of the article:
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A week ago, Maine Democrat Zak Ringelstein wasn’t quite ready to consider himself a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, even if he appreciated the organization’s values and endorsement in his bid to become a U.S. senator.
Three days later, he told The Associated Press it was time to join up. He’s now the only major-party Senate candidate in the nation to be a dues-paying democratic socialist.
Ringelstein’s leap is the latest evidence of a nationwide surge in the strength and popularity of an organization that, until recently, operated on the fringes of the liberal movement’s farthest left flank. As Donald Trump’s presidency stretches into its second year, democratic socialism has become a significant force in Democratic politics. Its rise comes as Democrats debate whether moving too far left will turn off voters.
“I stand with the democratic socialists, and I have decided to become a dues-paying member,” Ringelstein told AP. “It’s time to do what’s right, even if it’s not easy.”
There are 42 people running for offices at the federal, state and local levels this year with the formal endorsement of the Democratic Socialists of America, the organization says. They span 20 states, including Florida, Hawaii, Kansas and Michigan.
The most ambitious Democrats in Washington have been reluctant to embrace the label, even as they embrace the policies defining modern-day democratic socialism: Medicare for all, a $15 minimum wage, free college tuition and the abolition of the federal department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also known as ICE. [Note: they never give anyone the price tag in taxes and deficits that their utopian plans will cost. - A.]
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Congress’ only self-identified democratic socialist, campaigned Friday with the movement’s newest star, New York City congressional candidate Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old former bartender who defeated one of the most powerful House Democrats last month.
Her victory fed a flame that was already beginning to burn brighter. The DSA’s paid membership has hovered around 6,000 in the years before Trump’s election, said Allie Cohn, a member of the group’s national political team.
Last week, its paid membership hit 45,000 nationwide.
There is little distinction made between the terms “democratic socialism” and “socialism” in the group’s literature. While Ringelstein and other DSA-backed candidates promote a “big-tent” philosophy, the group’s constitution describes its members as socialists who “reject an economic order based on private profit” and “share a vision of a humane social order based on popular control of resources and production, economic planning, equitable distribution, feminism, racial equality and non-oppressive relationships.”
Members during public meetings often refer to each other “comrades,” wear clothing featuring socialist symbols like the rose and promote authors such as Karl Marx.
The common association with the failed Soviet Union has made it difficult for sympathetic liberals to explain their connection.

These radical socialists have to be defeated this coming November.

Reagan On Fascism and Liberalism

Above, Ronald Reagan in Cobo Hall in Detroit in 1980. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

In 1975, former Governor Ronald Reagan gave an interview with Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes. In the interview, Reagan said:
“I think that the heart of my philosophy is much more libertarianism,” Reagan states in the 60 Minutes Overtime interview. “Always has been.”
“How do we call a liberal?” he poses. “Someone very profoundly once said, many years ago, that if fascism ever comes to America it will come in the name of liberalism.”
Reagan then defines fascism as “private ownership, private enterprise but total government control and regulation.”
“Well isn’t this the liberal philosophy?” he continues.
“The conservative so-called is the one that says less government, get off my back, get out of my pocket and let me have more control of my destiny.”

Here's the video of the interview:

Reagan Was Right: Today's "Liberals" Are Actually Fascists

Above, Ronald and Nancy Reagan at LAX. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

From Merriam-Webster Dictionary:
Definition of fascism
1 often capitalized :  a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Today's so-called liberals are railing against the election results of last November. They are using the tactics of the Brown Shirts of Nazi Germany against anyone who have a different political philosophy than theirs by rioting, assaulting and beating people, denying invited speakers at universities the right to exercise free speech. They have turned the mainstream media into a propaganda machine for their cause. What they are today are fascists. The above definition describes them exactly.

Ronald Reagan had them all figured out as the following clip from a 60 Minutes interview from 1975 shows:

Homophobic, Racist Xenophobes Riot At Berkeley

It seems like the late 1960s and early 1970s all over again. Except for one big difference. Last night, fascist mobs rioted at UC Berkeley and there were no police to be found.

Where was Governor Jerry Brown during all of this?

According to Fox News Opinion:
The birthplace of the free speech movement has become its graveyard.
Hundreds of liberals rioted at the University of California Berkeley Wednesday night -- burning stores, throwing Molotov cocktails and clashing with police.

The rampaging mob forced the university to shut down an event featuring gay conservative firebrand and Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos.
“I’m outraged that Milo has been given a platform at UC Berkeley, and there should be no place for him here,” visiting assistant art professor Samara Haplerin told the Daily Californian. “He should be scared that people aren’t going to stand for this.”
Ironically, Milo had planned to deliver remarks defending free speech.
Back during the riots of the late 1960s and early 1970s, then-Governor Ronald Reagan put an end to the violence at Berkeley with the National Guard and Highway Patrol.

President Trump is considering cutting off federal funding to the university. If the fascist mobs and their supporters thought Gov. Reagan was tough, they ain't seen nothing yet!

Stop Internet Blacklisting!

The government fascists are now trying to censor the Internet. There is a bill before the U.S. Senate that seeks to do just that.

You can help stop the fascists by signing an online petition:

PETITION TO THE SENATE: Censoring the Internet is something we'd expect from China or Iran, not the U.S. Senate. You need to stop this Internet blacklist in its tracks and oppose S. 3804.

Here's an analysis on S. 3804 from Public Knowledge.com.

Fascism In America: Car Clubs Banned At Woodland Hills Shopping Center

Lawsuit bans car buffs from shopping center

It was 6:15 a.m. on a Sunday when Tom Bellows pulled his treasured 1979 yellow MGB into the parking lot of a Woodland Hills shopping center and prepared to hang out with other classic car aficionados, as they had for years.

But instead of being greeted by longtime friends, he said, he was surrounded by four security guards hired by the owners of El Camino Shopping Center, who ordered him off the premises.

"They told me to get the blankety-blank-blank out," said Bellows, 71, a family therapist from Northridge. "They said I couldn't park my car there because it was a classic."

It was a startling way to learn of a lawsuit filed Oct. 19 on behalf of Regency Centers, the Delaware-based owner of El Camino Shopping Center. The lawsuit targets the classic car lovers and the Village Coffee Roaster, a tenant that had spearheaded the informal Sunday gatherings.

Filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the lawsuit alleges trespassing and nuisance, and serves as a restraining order against the motorists, listed anonymously as John Does 1-500.

It claims that the owners of the Ferraris, Porsches, Mustangs and other classic cars hog too many parking spots at the 135,883 square-foot, Vons-anchored shopping center off Mulholland Drive near the Ventura Freeway.

Regency Centers would not comment, citing the pending litigation, said spokeswoman Bonnie Hayflick.

Ernie Park, an attorney representing Regency Centers, also would not comment. Vons, with its corporate headquarters based in Arcadia, did not respond to requests for comment.

The lawsuit has forced the classic car lovers to abandon the Woodland Hills strip mall and instead gather for coffee and socializing on Sunday mornings at a shopping center in the 19000 block of Plummer Street in Northridge.
