If there is ever a reason to be grateful for moving out of Commiefornia, this one gets the grand prize!

Last year, the one-party state passed legislation making people's electric bills based on income rather than actual usage. Sounds like something out of a socialist/communist country, doesn't it?

A post in The Federalist blog today caught my attention. So I did some searching. It didn't take long.

According to the Washington Free Beacon:

California governor Gavin Newsom is standing by the state’s soon-to-be-implemented "equitable" policy to base electricity bills on income, rather than usage, even as public and political opposition to the idea builds in the Democratic coalition.

A spokesman for the governor said on Tuesday that Newsom is looking forward to seeing a final proposal from the state's utilities commission "that is consistent with" the 2022 law that required the agency to devise an income-based billing system.

"California must combat climate change by rapidly expanding the use of clean electricity in our vehicles and buildings, while at the same time making it more affordable for low-income Californians," the spokesman said in a statement.

Newsom’s commitment to California’s income-based electricity billing plan followed a press conference by a group of Democratic lawmakers who want to reverse the policy, after they voted in its favor as part of a 2022 budget bill. Citing public outcry, they condemned the plan as another price hike for Californians’ astronomical energy bills that would punish conservation-minded households while also subjecting everyone to invasive income checks. 

See? This is what you get when a Marxist political party has total control of the state's government. They are using the excuse of "climate change" (which is total bullplop) as an excuse to impose this Marxist act.

Biden Administration To Send Crack Pipes To Drug Addicts

Has there ever been a time when insanity is the order of the day by so-called "national leaders" or by the media (well, they're one and the same these days)?

The latest is from The Blaze. The Biden Administration is planning to send, get this, crack pipes to drug addicts! 

Yep, it is our tax dollars at work!

According to The Blaze:

The Biden administration will soon fund the distribution of crack pipes to drug addicts in underserved communities for the purpose of "advancing racial equity," the Washington Free Beacon reported.

What are the details?

The baffling measure is included in the Department of Health and Human Services' fiscal year 2022 Harm Reduction Program Grant program. In the document, the crack pipe plan is described as the dispersion of federal government funds for the slightly more anodyne "smoking kits/supplies."

But a spokesman for the department recently told the Washington Free Beacon that the grant money will do exactly what the headline says it will do.

The distributed kits will provide safer pipes for drug addicts to use when they smoke crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, or "any illicit substance." The spokesman reportedly explained that the supplied pipes will reduce users' chances of becoming infected. Glass pipes often used by addicts can sometimes lead to infection through cuts and sores.

One has to wonder what drugs the Biden Administration are on to come up with such a lunatic plan.

ATF Reveals It Has a National Gun Registry Already in Place

The Firearm Owners' Protection Act of 1986 (FOPA):

As such, FOPA makes it illegal for the national government or any state in the country to keep any database or registry that ties firearms directly to their owner.

 

Having a national gun registry is forbidden by acts of congress.

However, the Biden regime has created one anyway at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This is the first step towards gun confiscation.

According to the New American:

When the Washington Free Beacon obtained documents last November revealing that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) had more than 54 million records of Americans who purchased firearms from local gun dealers, Representative Michael Cloud (R-Texas) and 51 other members of Congress demanded answers. In November he expressed his “concern”:

We are concerned that this Administration is leveraging its power in a way to establish a federal gun registry….

Congress has made it clear … that the federal government shall not create a federal gun registry and has prohibited ATF from creating any centralized databases.

The controversy gets even more concerning.

[ATF Assistant Director Daniel] Board then tried to explain that the ATF’s purposes in keeping such an immense database were benign:

The OBR [database does] not capture and store certain key information, such as firearms purchaser information in an automated file….

The ATF National Tracing Center … only traces crime guns … ATF is confident that it does not violate any laws.

Cloud didn’t buy it, telling the Free Beacon:

A federal firearm registry is explicitly banned by law. Yet, the Biden administration is again circumventing Congress and enabling the notably corrupt ATF to manage a database of nearly a billion gun transfer records.

Under the president’s watch, the ATF has increased surveillance of American gun owners at an abhorrent level. The Biden administration continues to empower criminals and foreign nationals while threatening the rights of law-abiding Americans.

ATF Building A List of U.S. Gun Owners

The ATF is building a database list of all gun owners. The estimated total: 50 million.

A stunning report by the Washington Free Beacon has revealed how the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms has amassed over 50 million records on US gun owners during Biden’s short time as president. The information was uncovered thanks to a leaked internal document that was provided to the outlet by the 2nd amendment advocacy group Gun Owners of America.

According to the leaked ATF document, in the fiscal year 2021, the ATF processed 54.7 million ‘out-of-business’ records that included the personal information and sales records of their customers. Current federal policy dictates that when a licensed gun store goes out of business, its private transaction records are seized by the ATF and stored at a secure facility in West Virginia.

The questionable and dangerous practice of collecting this data has rightfully drawn intense backlash from gun-rights advocacy groups because it essentially allows the federal government to create a database of gun owners and keep track of recent firearm purchases, which is unconstitutional and illegal.

UK Parliament Holds Biden in Contempt for Afghanistan Withdrawal

In an unprecedented move on Wednesday, the United Kingdom's Parliament condemned His Fraudulency Joe Biden and held him in contempt over his handling of the withdrawl in Afghanistan.

The Washington Free Beacon reported:

The United Kingdom's Parliament on Wednesday held President Joe Biden in contempt for his withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan, calling the move "catastrophic" and "shameful."

Members of Parliament, including some who served alongside U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan, accused Biden of "throwing us and everybody else to the fire" with his decision to withdraw. They also attacked Biden for his "shameful" criticism of the Afghan National Army and said it was "dishonourable" to blame Afghanistan's fighting force for the Taliban's takeover.

"Those who have never fought for the colours they fly should be careful about criticising those who have," said Tom Tugendhat, a British Army veteran of the Afghanistan war and the Conservative chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Biden is one of only a few U.S. presidents who have not served in the military.

After the fall of Kabul to the Taliban, Biden said he stood "squarely behind" his decision to pull out, adding that "there was never a good time to withdraw U.S. forces." He blamed Afghanistan's president and military for the collapse of the country.

California Democrats Trying To Save Gun Magazine Confiscation Scheme

California's gun magazine limitation ban had recently been overturned by a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit court, saying it was unconstitutional.

However, that's not stopping the left wing Democrats in the state from trying to overturn that ruling.

According to the Washington Free Beacon:

California Democrats are launching a longshot legal maneuver to protect a gun-control law that a federal appeals court declared unconstitutional. 

Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D.) requested an "en banc" review of a three-judge panel that ruled the state's ban on the possession of any magazine holding more than 10 rounds, even those Californians previously bought legally, ran afoul of the Second Amendment. Such a review would convene every judge in the Ninth Circuit. Chuck Michel, president of the California Rifle & Pistol Association, said gun-rights advocates are willing to take the case all the way to the Supreme Court if Becerra succeeds in his appeal.

"This case may present the opportunity to set things straight on the broader issue of what the standard of review test should be when considering any Second Amendment challenge," he told the Washington Free Beacon. "The Supreme Court seems inclined to do away with the complicated subjective tests that many courts have wrongly applied in Second Amendment cases, in favor of a clearer, more objective ‘originalist' approach that considers the text, history, and tradition of a law to determine what infringements might be tolerated."

Nearly 5 Million Guns Sold Between January and August

This may have a big impact on November's Election Day.

It is estimated that nearly 5 million people became gun owners during the first half of 2020.

According to the Washington Free Beacon:

Nearly five million Americans became first-time gun owners in 2020, according to a new report. 

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the gun industry's trade group, estimates that 17.1 million guns have been sold between January and August with 4.84 million Americans purchasing their first guns. The sales—especially to new owners—represent a significant shift in American attitudes on gun ownership. 

"This is a tectonic shift in the firearm and ammunition industry marketplace and complete transformation of today’s gun-owning community," Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel, said in a statement. 

Wex Gunworks in Delray Beach, Fla., has been "slammed" with demand from first-time buyers, according to owner Brandon Wexler. Wexler attributed the surge—which threatened to cause supply shortages—to uncertainty fostered by the coronavirus pandemic and rioting in cities across the country.

With Democrats defunding law enforcement and sitting on their hands while rioters are destroying property, causing injury and deaths, the only recourse left for people is to defend themselves by heading to their local gun stores and buy guns.

Kamala Harris Brings Gun Confiscation Support to Dem Presidential Ticket

Besides having an obnoxious personality, having the voice of a rock quarry grinder and is a far-left wacko, Kamala Harris presents a clear and present danger to the Second Amendment.

She advocates gun confiscation, for starters.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has done something unprecedented with his pick of Sen. Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) as his running mate: put a candidate on the presidential ticket who publicly supports gun confiscation. 

During her failed primary campaign, Harris was one of only a handful of candidates to explicitly advocate for the confiscation of what she estimated to be tens of millions of legally owned firearms. 

"We have to have a buyback program and I support a mandatory gun buyback program," she said during an October policy forum hosted by the gun-control group March for Our Lives. "It’s got to be smart. We've got to do it the right way but there are five million [assault weapons] at least, some estimate as many as 10 million, and we’re going to have to have smart public policy that’s about taking those off the streets but doing it the right way." 

While Hillary Clinton advocated for a sales ban and even the reversal of the Supreme Court precedent overturning Washington, D.C.'s total ban on handgun ownership during her 2016 campaign, she never expressed support for any form of direct firearms confiscation. And though Joe Biden has advocated for even more stringent gun-control policies than Clinton—including a ban on all guns without "smart" features—he told CNN's Anderson Cooper last year there is "no legal way" to confiscate guns Americans already own. 

The Biden campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Virginia Democrats Push Weapons Ban and Magazine Confiscation

Virginia residents who cherish their Second Amendment rights had better get on the ball and start organizing recalls of radical Democrats, otherwise, they will see those rights fast disappear.

The latest comes from the Washington Free Beacon:

Virginia Democrats on Friday pushed a bill through the state house of delegates' Public Safety Committee that would ban the sale of "assault weapons" and confiscate certain ammunition magazines. 

The bill, HB961, is the most controversial advanced by Democratic lawmakers and Governor Ralph Northam (D.) since they took control of both houses of the state legislature in November. It would outlaw new sales of some of the country's most popular firearms, including the AR-15, and make it illegal to possess ammunition magazines capable of holding more than 12 rounds, even if they were previously legally purchased. Friday's vote was along party lines, with one Democrat abstaining. 

The proposal could affect millions of Virginia gun owners, according to the firearms industry's trade group.

"This bill would affect more than just your modern sporting rifles like the AR-15," Mark Oliva, a spokesman for the National Shooting Sports Foundation, told the Washington Free Beacon. "It would affect the vast majority of handguns."

Gun Rights Supporters Flood Virginia Capitol

When tyrannical government officials try to infringe on constitutional rights and the citizens get involved in response, things do work out for the better.

In the case of the state of Virginia's gun control battle, citizen involvement did help. Somewhat.

But there is much more to do.

The Washington Free Beacon reported:

RICHMOND, VA.—Thousands of NRA supporters turned out at Virginia's capitol building on Monday in a show of opposition that pushed Democrats in the state legislature to moderate or abandon some of their strictest gun-control proposals. 

"We are beyond impressed by today's turnout," Daniel Spiker, Virginia state director for the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action, told the Washington Free Beacon. "You can see the passion and enthusiasm that the citizens of Virginia have in joining us in this fight." 

The presence of gun-rights supporters at the state Senate judiciary committee hearing appeared to have an impact, as Democrats formally withdrew S.B. 16—a hotly-contested bill that would have effectively confiscated AR-15s and similar firearms—and moderated several other proposals. The NRA, however, said the changes were not enough and promised to continue to oppose the bills as they continue to move forward in the coming weeks. 

Other legislative changes advanced by the judiciary committee Monday included a modification to a proposed universal background check bill, which would now apply to sales specifically instead of gun transfers more broadly. The committee also passed a "red flag" law—which allows a judge to order a person's firearms temporarily seized—but further restricted who could file under the bill for an order for a firearm seizure. It moved a one-gun-a-month purchase limit but included an exemption for those with a gun-carry permit. Lastly, it approved a bill allowing localities to regulate firearms, but only as to whether they can be carried on local government property or during permitted protests.

Virginia Democrats Make Small Concession On Gun Confiscation

Virginia Democrats made a slight, partial cave on the issue of gun confiscation, but that was not enough to satisfy defenders of the Second Amendment. And rightfully so.

The Washington Free Beacon reported:

Virginia Democratic leaders abandoned their gun confiscation proposal Monday following a grassroots outpouring of opposition to gun control across the state. 

Governor Ralph Northam (D.) and incoming Senate majority leader Dick Saslaw (D.) said they will no longer pursue their marquee plan to ban the possession of "assault weapons." Instead, they will include a provision to allow Virginians to keep the firearms they already own. The reversal comes before the newly elected Democratic majority has even been sworn in, after a majority of the state's counties declared themselves "Second Amendment sanctuaries." 

"In this case, the governor's assault weapons ban will include a grandfather clause for individuals who already own assault weapons, with the requirement they register their weapons before the end of a designated grace period," Northam spokeswoman Alena Yarmosky told the Virginia Mercury.

The Democrats' backtracking may indicate a trend in the gun debate in Virginia. Gun-control advocates poured millions of dollars into successfully flipping the state legislature, but the outpouring of opposition to their agenda, even in deep blue areas, may cause some new members of the state legislature to be cautious about backing gun control. The concession is unlikely to end the fight brewing across the state, however, as Democrats still plan to pursue a ban on many new sales.

Gun registration? Hell no! The fight goes on.

At present, there are 59 Second Amendment sanctuaries in Virginia.

Democrat Proposes Taxpayer Funded Dorms For Congressional Members

After she was elected by New York lunatic voters, socialist loon Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY complained that she couldn't find affordable housing in Washington, D.C. as she wasn't drawing a salary as yet.

My response at the time was, "You should have thought of that before you ran for congress!"

Well, another Democrat wants us taxpayers to fund housing for members of congress.

According to American Lookout:

Democrat Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi wants taxpayers to fund housing in Washington, DC for members of Congress. Talk about being out of touch with the American people. Most taxpayers would laugh at hearing such a suggestion.

Democratic members of Congress want taxpayers to subsidize their housing, signing onto legislation that would allow them to deduct living expenses for members of the House of Representatives.

Texas Democrats Call For Decriminalization of Border Crossings

This'll go over very well with Texas voters.

Crossing the border illegally should no longer be a criminal matter, three Texas Democrats running for national office said over the weekend. 

Senate candidate Rob O'Rourke, gubernatorial candidate Lupa Valdez, and House candidate Veronica Escobar all backed the proposal, the Huffington Post reports. 

Illegally crossing the border is currently a criminal act under federal law, with an associated fine and maximum of six months jail time for the first offense. The Trump administration took advantage of this fact in its "zero tolerance" policy, which required U.S. Attorneys in the border states to charge every violator criminally, rather than waiving prosecution and immediately deporting. 

To Escobar, who is expected to win a House seat in El Paso, the case for decriminalizing comes down to not treating immigration as a crime.

There doesn't seem to be any limit on how loony the Democrats will get.

U.S. Caves In To Iranian Nuclear Demands

U.S. negotiators for a nuclear deal with Iran have caved in to Iranian demands.

According to the Washington Free Beacon:

LAUSSANE, Switzerland—The Obama administration is giving in to Iranian demands about the scope of its nuclear program as negotiators work to finalize a framework agreement in the coming days, according to sources familiar with the administration’s position in the negotiations. 

U.S. negotiators are said to have given up ground on demands that Iran be forced to disclose the full range of its nuclear activities at the outset of a nuclear deal, a concession experts say would gut the verification the Obama administration has vowed would stand as the crux of a deal with Iran. 

Until recently, the Obama administration had maintained that it would guarantee oversight on Tehran’s program well into the future, and that it would take the necessary steps to ensure that oversight would be effective. The issue has now emerged as a key sticking point in the talks. 

Concern from sources familiar with U.S. concessions in the talks comes amid reports that Iran could be permitted to continue running nuclear centrifuges at an underground site once suspected of housing illicit activities. 

This type of concession would allow Iran to continue work related to its nuclear weapons program, even under the eye of international inspectors. If Iran removes inspectors—as it has in the past—it would be left with a nuclear infrastructure immune from a strike by Western forces.a administration has vowed would stand as the crux of a deal with Iran.

German Paper: "Obama's Middle East Policy In Ruins"

While the U.S. Obama lapdog media focused on Mitt Romney's alleged gaffe (he said nothing wrong and had every right to say it), the international media has their focus on the failure of Obama's Middle East policies.

The Washington Free Beacon posted a snippet from the German newspaper Der Spiegel:

“US President Barack Obama’s Middle East policy is in ruins. Like no president before him, he tried to win over the Arab world. After some initial hesitation, he came out clearly on the side of the democratic revolutions. … In this context, he must accept the fact that he has snubbed old close allies such as Israel, Saudi Arabia and the Egyptian military. And now parts of the freed societies are turning against the country which helped bring them into being. Anti-Americanism in the Arab world has even increased to levels greater than in the Bush era. It’s a bitter outcome for Obama.”
