2026 Kaiser Willys Jeep Catalog Arrived

The 2026 Kaiser Willys Jeep Catalog was waiting for me at the post office. 

My 1952 Willys Jeep M38A1 made it into the catalog. It is located on page 4 of the catalog.

This is about the third time it made it into the catalog.

George Reeves On "Cheaters"

A few months ago, I was watching an episode of Cheaters when something in the background of a scene caught my attention. 

The scene was of a "suspect" re-capping what had transpired in the episode she was in. In the background on a shelf was a photo from the Adventures of Superman episode, "The Unlucky Number" (1956) of George Reeves and Henry Blair.

The episode of Cheaters was re-played yesterday and I took a quick photo of the scene.

Last night, new photos and video of the assassin of Charlie Kirk was released last night during a brief news conference.

Eric Swalwell's Meltdown Over Photo

This is funny.

Rep. Eric Swalwell had a bit of a meltdown during a congressional hearing over a AI photo of former President Donald Trump with a duck and a cat.

According to the Western Journal:

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California appeared to lose it at a Congressional hearing Tuesday over a comical image of former President Donald Trump protecting a cat and a duck.

The GOP House Judiciary Committee shared the computer-generated image on social media platform X with the caption, “Protect our ducks and kittens in Ohio.”

The picture is in reference to an unsubstantiated account from a Springfield, Ohio, resident given at a recent city commission meeting that Haitian migrants are killing and eating ducks from public parks.

2024 Kaiser Willys Jeep Catalog

The 2024 Kaiser Willys Jeep Auto Supply catalog arrived in today's mail.

Looking through it, I spotted my 1952 Willys Jeep M38A1 on page 8 in the top right corner. I was able to immediately spot it by the garage in the background. This is the second time the Jeep made it into the catalog. It is from last year's Fall Photo Contest.

I scanned the front cover and the page (page 8) featuring the Jeep:

Tombstone Souvenir Photo Now In Den

The "wanted poster" photo I had taken at Madame Mustache Old Thyme Parlor in Tombstone, Arizona last week has a home. It is now framed and hung on a wall in the den/guest room.

I originally thought I would hang it in the living room, but decided against it. So it is now at its "final resting place" in the den. 

Home Again!

After six days of travel, fun and frivolity, I made it home today around 2:00.

It was a long drive (356 miles worth) of mountains, deserts, ranchland and small towns. I left Tucson around 5:00 Arizona time. 

It was an easier drive than the one last Wednesday, but still tiring. I took route 77 through Show Low, Arizona up to Interstate 40 in Holbrook. 

I did make a stop at the Tee Pee Trading Post for some stogies. They expanded and remodeled their cigar room since the last time I went there. They are about 80% done, 

I was going to scan the photo I had taken at Madame Mustache's in Tombstone, but the matte is 11 x 17", too big for the scanning table. So I photographed it and have it below:

National Forest Week Photo Contest

It just so happens that this week is National Forest Week.

I received an email from the National Forest Foundation this morning which stated:

Dear Armand,

Happy National Forest Week™! With your help we’ve been able to showcase the incredible landscapes of our National Forests. With more than 150 National Forests and Grasslands across the country, we wouldn’t be able to share all of the special places without you. We are excited to once again host our annual National Forest Week photo contest to highlight our incredible public lands.

They have three categories. They are Landscape, Recreation and Youth Photographers. I submitted the above photo for the Recreation category. The photograph has to have been taken in a national forest.

Daniel Craig Well Hung

A little while ago, I returned home from Gallup where I picked up the autographed Daniel Craig photo I had framed and matted at Frame 'N Art.

After getting home, I hung it in my den/guest room with some rearranging of some items already on the wall.

I chose the green matte as there are two green light shades in the photo in the background. I think it complements the photo.

Bondage For The Den

Some weeks ago, I obtained an autographed photo of Eon Productions' James Bond no. 2, George Lazenby. It is now on my wall in the den/guest room.

On the way home from Albuquerque, I stopped at the Flying J to pick up my mail. Among the items, was an autographed photo of James Bond no. 6, Daniel Craig. 

Once the snows cease here in Jamestown, Craig will be joining Lazenby on my den's wall when I get it framed by Frame 'N Art in Gallup.

It's interesting that I have these two since Craig's No Time To Die pays a big nod to Lazenby's On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) musically.

Kneeling Lunatic Democrats

Democrats don't like "photo opportunities" unless they do it.

Washington (AFP) - Democratic lawmakers knelt in silent tribute to George Floyd in the US Congress on Monday before unveiling a package of sweeping police reforms in response to the killing of African Americans by law enforcement. 

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer were joined by some two dozen lawmakers in Emancipation Hall -- named in honor of the slaves who helped erect the US Capitol in the 18th century. 

They knelt for eight minutes and 46 seconds to mark the length of time a white police officer pinned his knee on the neck of the 46-year-old Floyd, whose May 25 death in Minneapolis unleashed protests against racial injustice across America.

I just hope they wear out their trousers and panty hoses at the knee.

Lake Havasu Night

This evening, I took a nap to recuperate from the long drive today from Fillmore, Utah to Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Sierra, my cat, woke me up. I noticed that it was dark out and stepped outside. The view I had was one I could not pass up with my camera, so I went back inside and got my camera and snapped some phots of the scene.

Rare On-Set James Bond Photos

Above, here's one Esquire doesn't have. Roger Moore addressing members of the Ancient and Honorable
 Order of E Clampus Vitus when he was inducted into the group during the filming of A View To A Kill.

Esquire magazine's website has 30 interesting rare on-set photos that cover the past 50 years of James Bond movies.

As they said in the post, "these are the moments we never saw in the movies."

Flying Wing and Space Shuttle "Columbia"

After putting the car into the garage for the night, I was rummaging through one moving box and found a metal filing box.

I went through the box when I got back into the house and found a number of things inside, such as my high school diploma, silver dollar proof sets and other stuff.

I saw two large envelopes. I looked in them and found a couple of 8 x 10" photos of the famed Northrop "Flying Wing" in one and several photos of the space shuttle Columbia.

The shuttle photos came from an open house at the Rockwell International plant in Downey, California I attended. It was a "welcome home" event for the most recent shuttle astronauts (it may have been the crew for the second or third shuttle mission in 1981).

I have no idea where the "Flying Wing" photos came from. They could have been from an air show or some other event (I attended a lot of them back in the day). One of the photos had "Northrop" rubber-stamped on the back.

In any case, I scanned both "Flying Wing" photos and a couple of the Columbia photos.

Mesa Photo Modifications

One of my Jamestown neighbors, who is an aerial photographer, did some tinkering with one of my photographs of the mesas across the valley from Jamestown.

Here is the result:

It is almost like living near Zion or Bryce Canyon National Parks out here!

Minnie Winnie Owners Facebook Group

A couple of months ago, the "boss" of the Minnie Winnie Owners Facebook group asked the members to submit a photo of their Minnie Winnie to use for the page's header photo.

I just noticed (it's been up since last Thursday) that the photo I submitted of The Beast is now the header photo. It is a shot taken at the Double J Campground in Chatham, Illinois (near Springfield) I took last November.

The group is open to any Winnebago Minnie Winnie owners.

Nixon Foundation Remembers Elvis

"Earhart" Photo Published 2 Years Before Disappearance

Above, the photo allegedly of Noonan and Earhart.

It appears that the photo above may not have been of aviator Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan after all.

A Japanese blogger found a photo book that published the photo in 1935, two years before Earhart's disappearance.

According to NPR.org:

A Japanese military history buff has found library records showing a photo supposedly depicting Amelia Earhart survived a crash landing in 1937 was actually published two years before the famous aviator vanished. 

The photograph in question was featured in a History Channel special and received widespread media attention.

Kathy Griffin Plays Victim Card

"Comedian" Kathy Griffin held a news conference to shed crocodile tears and play "the victim card" over the uproar over her tasteless photo of her holding a mock bloody severed head of President Trump.

Thanks to The Daily Mail, here's the points of Griffin's news conference:

• Kathy Griffin broke down in tears speaking about the constant attacks from the public and members of the Trump family over the past few days
• She said that she has been receiving constant death threats, which she described as detailed and specific
• Griffin, 56, also said that President Trump 'broke' her and that she does not expect her career to recover from his family's attacks 
• She added that she will not back down from this fight, saying: 'I am not afraid of Donald Trump. He is a bully'
• Griffin said that the photo shoot was inspired by Megyn Kelly, and the comment Trump made to the then-Fox News host about 'blood coming out of everywhere'
• It was also confirmed at the press conference that the Secret Service is investigating Griffin over the image

Families of Allied Troops Donating To Hiroshima Peace Museum

Families of allied soldiers have been making donations of photographs and artifacts to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, according to the Mainichi Shimbun.

They wrote:

HIROSHIMA -- The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum has been receiving donations of materials, including photographs capturing Hiroshima in the aftermath of the 1945 atomic bombing, from the children and grandchildren of mostly Allied troops stationed in the city after Japan's surrender. 

A curator at the museum appreciates the donations, saying that some of the photos "show common people in the streets, and that's something that is rarely found in official military documents."
