Japan Today has reported that hairline cracks have been found in some wings of Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes in production.
The article stated:
NEW YORK —Boeing said Friday that hairline cracks have been found in the wings of some of its 787 Dreamliners that are still in production, due to a manufacturing problem.
A Boeing spokesman told AFP the cracks were found in the composite wings made by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan, but insisted it was “confident that the condition does not exist in the in-service fleet.”
Boeing had been notified by MHI that “a change in their manufacturing process may have led to hairline cracks in a limited number of shear ties on a wing rib in the 787.”To read the full article, go here.

The fate of a Malaysian Airlines flight carrying 239 people remains unclear after a senior Vietnamese navy official said the country's armed forces still have no information on the fate of the airliner, which went missing early Saturday.
Vietnamese state-run media earlier reported, citing the country's navy, that flight MH370 Kuala Lumpur to Beijing crashed into the sea about 153 nautical miles off Vietnam's coast.To read more, go here.
