It's going to be an interesting Thanksgiving week.

...LONG DURATION WINTER WEATHER EVENT SETTING UP FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY PERIOD... AFTER STRONG TO POTENTIALLY DAMAGING WINDS END TUESDAY, A VERY UNSETTLED PERIOD OF WINTER WEATHER WILL LIKELY IMPACT TRAVEL PLANS LATE WEDNESDAY AHEAD OF THANKSGIVING AND LASTING THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT. A MIX OF RAIN, SNOW, SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH PORTIONS OF THE EASTERN PLAINS OF NEW MEXICO LATE WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY. HIGHER AMOUNTS OF SNOW WILL FOCUS OVER THE WESTERN AND NORTHERN HIGH TERRAIN THROUGH THANKSGIVING DAY. A COLDER SYSTEM WILL IMPACT THE STATE FRIDAY, BRINGING WIDESPREAD SNOW TO MUCH OF WESTERN AND NORTHERN NEW MEXICO WITH SNOW LEVELS FALLING TO INCLUDE MANY LOWER ELEVATION LOCALES LATE FRIDAY INTO FRIDAY NIGHT. PORTIONS OF INTERSTATES 25 AND 40, AS WELL AS HIGHWAYS 550, 285 AND 64/87, WILL LIKELY BE IMPACTED BY WINTER WEATHER LATE WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.
