Above, Flagstaff weather forecast. |
The current plan for returning home to Jamestown, New Mexico is to get on the road Thursday.
However, it appears that a storm is heading into Arizona beginning tomorrow with snow showers hitting the Flagstaff area tomorrow night and will continue through the rest of the week.
That is smack dab in my route along Interstate 40. The forecast is likely to change, so I am keeping a watchful eye on the weather reports.
If it turns out that Flagstaff is going to be hit hard by snow this week, then I will take a more southerly route, likely Interstate 10 to Phoenix and then US60 to Show Low, Arizona and then Hwy. 77 from there to Holbrook and Interstate 40. This route will take me around Flagstaff and then up to I-40 to home. It should be a warmer route. Or, I can take US67 through Payson, Arizona and then up.
Luckily, I'm not in any hurry, so I can take a longer or slower route if necessary.
According to the National Weather Servic, this is the week's forecast for Flagstaff:
