Stupid Voters Have Spoken

Last night's election results were not much of a surprise. The only thing they show is that stupid people should not be allowed to vote.

In New York, Zohran Mamdani became the city's mayor-elect. An avowed socialist (some even go so far as to refer to him as a communist due to his past policy statements) will likely drive more people out. Well, those people who voted for him deserve the chaos he will bring to the city. Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an independent, never had a chance. He was damaged goods even before he entered the race. 

In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom's Proposition 50 passed. No surprise there. California is essentially already a one-party state and there are enough idiots there to vote for the measure. Not much will change as a result, except the few remaining Republican members of congress are now in danger of getting Gerrymandered out of office. 

It appears that the current government shutdown had little or no effect on the election. 

The rest of us can sit back and watch the shit-show circus as it unfolds.

"Fredo" Cuomo Suspended "Indefinitely" From CNN

CNN anchor Chris "Fredo" Cuomo was suspended "indefinitely" from CNN as evidence came to light showing that he was working with his brother to dig information on sexual assault victims.

According to the Daily Caller:

CNN announced Tuesday that Chris Cuomo would be suspended “indefinitely” following bombshell evidence that he worked closely with his brother, disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, amid allegations of sexual assault.

“The New York Attorney General’s office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense,” a CNN spokesperson said Tuesday, according to CNN. “The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James released Monday a transcript detailing that Chris Cuomo was involved in what appeared to be a cover-up in his brother’s sexual assault case.

The documents show Chris Cuomo used his contacts in the media to get more information about his brother’s accusers and appeared to work with then-top aid Melissa DeRosa about preparing responses for his brother. 

Actually, Cuomo should resign or be fired.

Sex Crimes: Cuomo Faces Charges, Lujan Grisham Gets A Pass From Crony Attorney General

Disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been filed on with a misdemeanor sex crime complaint.

According to Newsmax:

A misdemeanor complaint has been filed against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in a court in Albany, the state's capital, a spokesman for the New York state courts said on Thursday.

"At the aforesaid date time and location the defendant Andrew M. Cuomo did intentionally, and for no legitimate purpose, forcibly place his hand under the blouse shirt of the victim [redacted] and into her intimate body part. Specifically, the victims (sic) left breast for the purposes of degrading and gratifying his sexual desires, all contrary to the provisions of the statute in such case made and provided," the complaint reads.

In the meantime, another Democrat governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico, seems to be getting a pass on her incidents involving groping. This is no surprise since the state's attorney general, Hector Balderas, is a Lujan Grisham crony. He refuses to even investigate the accusations.

Now, as action is being taken against Cuomo for his alleged groping of staffers, there is silence emanating from the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office regarding scandal-ridden alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. Attorney General Balderas — a Michelle Lujan Grisham ally — has not filed charges or sought an investigation.

Grisham not only is accused of groping multiple men, but she also paid off $150,000 in hush money to alleged groping victim James Hallinan following his claims that he poured a bottle of water over his crotch and then she grabbed his penis through his jeans.

Gov. MLG Pays $87.5K More In Hush Money To Groping Victim

A normal person, when being accused of sexual misconduct (in this case, groping), would fight tooth & nail against such allegations.

Is this how New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham responded? Nope. She paid thousands in campaign money (aren't her donors just a little bit pissed?) to the accuser. 

Now, word is out she paid thousands more in "settlement" money.

The Piñon Post reported:

On Monday, it was reported that alleged serial groper Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham had paid her ex-staffer, James Hallinan, an extra $87,500 more after Hallinan alleged the then-candidate for governor poured water over his crotch and then groped him. She expended these funds from her gubernatorial campaign, making her donors fork over the hush money.

The Governor previously gave Hallinan $62,500, making the total amount of the settlement to the alleged groping victim around $150,000. 

According to Lujan Grisham’s campaign spokeswoman Kendall Witmer, the payments were part of a settlement that “resolved suspect and varied claims made by Mr. Hallinan, including his search for employment and clients following his tumultuous tenure on the 2018 campaign.” 

To shell out this much money would lead any reasonable person to conclude the allegations must be true.

Settlement money? Yeah, right. I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you! The B.S. meter is off the scale!

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned over similar allegations. Gov. Lujan Grisham should follow in his footsteps and do the same.

A man sent cable news host Chris Cuomo into a flying rage when he called the anchor “Fredo” — an apparent insult referencing Fredo Corleone, the ineffective son of Vito Corleone in “The Godfather.” 

“Punk ass bitches from the right call me ‘Fredo.’ My name is Chris Cuomo, I’m an anchor on CNN,” the newsman says in the video, which was shared on Twitter Monday evening. 

“Fredo is from the ‘Godfather,’ he was a weak brother and the use of it to an Italian is disparaging,” he continues.

Uh-huh, right. Someone's got a thin skin.

Why The Push Against Abortions?

Why are some state legislatures putting limits, some very strict limits, on abortions?

Website FiveThirtyEight gives three reasons, and they preface them with:

Republicans have long sought to limit abortion, both at the state and national level. But abortion opponents have stepped up their efforts in 2019, according to advocates on both sides of the issue. Alabama this week enacted a law that bans all abortions except to save a woman’s life. There would be no exceptions for pregnancies caused by incest or rape, and conducting an abortion could result in a prison sentence of up to 99 years. Four other states — Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi and Ohio — have adopted laws that ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat can be detected, which can be as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. 

What’s behind this latest push? There have been three important shifts in U.S. politics.

The reasons they give are:

1. Brett Kavanaugh's appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court. 

2. The rise of one-party rule states. 

3. Republicans aren't worried of a backlash.

But they completely missed one other important development: legalized infanticide.

National Review wrote:

Democrats are increasingly explicit in their support for killing unborn children at any stage of pregnancy — and sometimes even of denying normal medical care to born children. 

In New York state, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a law that makes abortion legal, even after the unborn child is viable, so long as the abortionist makes a “reasonable and good-faith judgment” that abortion will protect the pregnant woman’s health. In Rhode Island, Governor Gina Raimondo has pledged to sign legislation that also makes abortion legal after viability to “preserve . . . health.” In Virginia, state legislator Kathy Tran has introduced legislation that would, she has explained, make abortion legal even at term and in the middle of birth.

These stories in the news caused a backlash by people who are totally repelled by infanticide, no matter what excuse is given. Those actions have fired up the anti-abortionists so much that they are scoring anti-abortion legislative wins. In a nutshell: The pro-abortionists simply overstepped. No wonder Republicans aren't worried.

Pro-choice activists are beside themselves over these limitations. But they only have themselves to blame by going into the infanticide extremes. They brought this onto themselves. Eventually, all passed laws will be decided in the Supreme Court, which is what many states passing legislation actually want.

NY Blacklisting Campaign Causing NRA Financial Trouble

The National Rifle Association has filed an interesting legal filing in connection to a lawsuit in New York.

Rolling Stone reported:

The National Rifle Association warns that it is in grave financial jeopardy, according to a recent court filing obtained by Rolling Stone, and that it could soon “be unable to exist… or pursue its advocacy mission.” (Read the NRA’s legal complaint at the bottom of this story.) 

The reason, according to the NRA filing, is not its deep entanglement with alleged Russian agents like Maria Butina. Instead, the gun group has been suing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state’s financial regulators since May, claiming the NRA has been subject to a state-led “blacklisting campaign” that has inflicted “tens of millions of dollars in damages.” 

In the new document — an amended complaint filed in U.S. District Court in late July — the NRA says it cannot access financial services essential to its operations and is facing “irrecoverable loss and irreparable harm.” 

Specifically, the NRA warns that it has lost insurance coverage — endangering day-to-day operations. “Insurance coverage is necessary for the NRA to continue its existence,” the complaint reads. Without general liability coverage, it adds, the “NRA cannot maintain its physical premises, convene off-site meetings and events, operate educational programs … or hold rallies, conventions and assemblies.”

NRA Sues New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, New York State Department of Financial Services

NEW YORK CITY—The National Rifle Association of America (“NRA”) today announced that it filed a lawsuit against the New York State Department of Financial Services (“DFS”), New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and DFS Superintendent Maria T. Vullo alleging violations of the NRA’s First Amendment rights.  

Filed on May 11, 2018, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York, the lawsuit claims that Cuomo, Vullo, and DFS engaged in a “campaign of selective prosecution, backroom exhortations, and public threats” designed to coerce banks and insurance companies to withhold services from the NRA.  The NRA argues that such tactics vastly overstep DFS’s regulatory mandate, and seek to suppress the speech of Second Amendment supporters and retaliate against the NRA and others for their political advocacy. The lawsuit seeks millions of dollars in damages to redress harms inflicted by the DFS campaign. 

“Political differences aside, our client believes the tactics employed by these public officials are aimed to deprive the NRA of its First Amendment right to speak freely about gun-related issues and in defense of the Second Amendment,” says William A. Brewer III, partner at Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors and counsel to the NRA. “We believe these actions are outside the authority of DFS and fail to honor the principles which require public officials to protect the constitutional rights of all citizens.” 

Among other things, the lawsuit cites a pair of “guidance” letters issued on April 19, 2018, by the DFS to the CEOs of banks and insurance companies doing business in New York.  Styled as regulatory “risk management” advisories, the letters encourage institutions to “take prompt actions” to manage “reputational risk” posed by dealings with “gun promotion organizations.” The same day, Cuomo issued a press release in which Vullo directly urged “all insurance companies and banks doing business in New York” to “discontinue[] their arrangements with the NRA.” 

The lawsuit claims that the “guidance” letters were accompanied by back-channel communications and targeted enforcement actions, which further reinforced the Cuomo administration’s message that it is bad business in New York to do business with the NRA. 

The lawsuit explains that the DFS mandate – preceded by an “investigation” orchestrated by gun-control activists into insurance programs sponsored by the NRA – has already caused several insurance companies to sever relationships with the NRA and to plan to cancel the insurance policies of law-abiding New York consumers. According to the complaint, the directive of Cuomo and Vullo has had its intended effect – to advance Cuomo’s longstanding opposition to gun-rights supporters and to distort insurance markets in the service of a political agenda. 

The lawsuit says, “As a direct result of this coercion, multiple firms have succumbed to Defendants’ demands and entered into consent orders with DFS that compel them to terminate longstanding, beneficial business relationships with the NRA both in New York and elsewhere. Tellingly, several provisions in the orders bear no relation to any ostensible regulatory infraction. Instead, the orders prohibit lawful commercial speech for no reason other than that it carries the NRA brand.”  

On May 2, 2018 and May 7, 2018, Lockton Companies, LLC and Chubb Ltd., respectively, announced they will pay millions of dollars in fines to DFS and cease doing business with the NRA – for no other reason than many of the insurance programs with which they are associated carry the NRA brand. On May 9, 2018, Lloyd’s of London announced that it is directing insurance underwriters to terminate any existing partnerships [with the NRA]. 

The lawsuit explains that these outcomes are the culmination of years of political activism by Cuomo against the NRA and gun rights organizations. As recently as April 20, 2018, Cuomo called the NRA an “extremist organization” and urged New York companies “to revisit their ties to the NRA and consider their reputations…” 

In the face of such attacks, the NRA continues to educate the public about the Second Amendment, defend the NRA and its members against political and media attacks, and galvanize participation in the political process. The NRA claims that in response, Cuomo and DFS are taking actions to silence the organization. 

Citing the Supreme Court’s landmark Bantam Books, Inc. v. Sullivan case, the lawsuit argues that “viewpoint discrimination applied through ‘threat[s] of invoking legal sanctions and other means of coercion, persuasion, and intimidation’ violates the Constitution where, as here, such measures chill protected First Amendment activities.”
