Relaxing By The Fire

Above, this evening's fire. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Tonight was one of those nights I like. It was about 58° out with only 7 mph winds, perfect weather to fire up the fire pit.

So I fired it up and relaxed and watched fire and the colors on the mesas from the setting sun.

The brick paving tiles I bought the other day at Home Depot is working out well. Rather than having the legs of the fire pit stand on the dirt ground, they now stand on the tiles. Too bad I can't have it up on the deck, but it is wooden and hazardous. The fire pit directions specifically said, "DO NOT PUT ON WOODEN DECKS."

Tomorrow, we might have some thunderstorms in the area (Thursday too). If the weather cooperates tomorrow evening, I may head into Gallup to see the Indian dancing at the McKinley County Courthouse square.

Friday looks to be excellent, weather-wise.
