Exploring A Road In Our Subdivision

Following some target practice and break, I did some Jeep driving around. The weather was just about perfect at 63°.

After driving the roads near Cibola National Forest, I decided to explore a dirt road in our community that I haven't been on before. It likely a continuation of the pipeline road that leads west from Whispering Cedars Road (our main road) to the national forest and the shooting area. This section goes east from Whispering Cedars Road.

I went on the road and it goes a little more than a quarter mile to a locked gate. At the gate, is a national forest sign stating that it is closed to vehicles from December 15 to March 31 (just like Cibola National Forest/Six Mile Canyon). Standing near the gate is a short cell tower. There are also homes nearby

Beyond the gate, I can see Maverick Road of the new Mesa Ridge Ranch subdivision. Apparently (and this is only a guess), the land between our subdivision (Whispering Cedars) and Mesa Ridge Ranch is part of Cibola National Forest. Will the gate be unlocked after March 31? That's anyone's guess.

After walking around the area near the gate, I headed back home to call it a day and to have my 3:00 coffee.
