Warmest Day This Year

Above, the mesas from Six Mile Canyon Road. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Today turned out to be the warmest day in Jamestown, New Mexico this season.

According to The Weather Channel, it got to 61°. This is also their forecast for tomorrow. Spring is definitely around the corner.

I spent most of the afternoon just driving the Jeep around side roads near Cibola National Forest (the forest is closed to vehicles through March 31). Basically, I just explored them to see where they lead to. Some just ended at big gullies or were washed out.

Some of these lands are national forest property and some are Navajo lands checkered here and there.

If the weather tomorrow is like today, I'll probably head over to the shooting area and do some target shooting.

The National Weather Service has tomorrow's high at 58°. We'll see who's right.

Tonight
Clear, with a low around 29. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light southwest in the evening.
Thursday
Sunny, with a high near 58. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Thursday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Southeast wind around 10 mph.
Friday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. Southeast wind 10 to 20 mph.
