For those heading up into Northern California and are including Lassen Volcanic National Park in their itineraries, some operations at the park are being modified due to the coronavirus.
According to A News Cafe:
Lassen Volcanic National Park is announcing modifications to operations
to implement the latest guidance from the White House, Centers for Disease Control &
Prevention (CDC), and local and state authorities to promote social distancing. As of March 17, 2020 the Kohm Yah-Mah-Nee Visitor Center is closed and ranger-led programs are cancelled. Where it is possible to adhere to the latest health guidance, restrooms, water, andbackcountry self-registration remain available in the Loomis Plaza and inside the 24-hour vestibule of the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center. All outdoor areas of the park remain open, though visitors should be aware that snow currently covers all trails. Snow clearing operations continue as normal, providing access to the Manzanita Lake and Southwest Areas.
The health and safety of our visitors, employees, volunteers, and partners at Lassen
Volcanic National Park is our number one priority. The National Park Service (NPS) is
working with the federal, state, and local authorities to closely monitor the novel
coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. We will notify the public when we resume full
operations and provide updates on our website and social media channels.
