We returned to the Fort Worth Stockyards today to see and shop at Stockyards Station shopping mall and to see the "cattle drive" that takes place at 11:30 and 4:00 daily down Exchange Ave.
There were plenty shops and eateries at Stockyards Station to peruse through. We did some shopping before the cattle drive (of Texas longhorn steers).
Right on time, the cattle drive took place down Exchange Ave. For some odd reason, the officials of the cattle drive tells spectators to remain standing. (Maybe it's to keep people from having their eyes poked by the cattle horns.)
A Latina lady was standing behind us when a woman told everyone to "remain standing." She asked, "Why?" I said, "We have to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the cattle!" She couldn't stop laughing.
Anyway, here's some more photos:

From the Stockyards website: The Livestock Exchange Building was erected in 1902 as an office for cattle traders, & was once known as “The Wall Street of the West” for all the activity that occurred in the Stockyards. |
