URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...A ROUND OF SNOW IS COMING TO MUCH OF NORTHERN NEW MEXICO THIS
EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY...

.The combination of a strong backdoor cold front and a developing
upper level low to our west will bring a round of snow to much of
northern New Mexico beginning late today and continuing through
Tuesday. The northern and central mountains are favored for
significant snow totals, with lesser amounts across nearby
highlands and valleys. Travel through northern New Mexico will be
impacted tonight through Tuesday, with some road closures
possible.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
5 PM MST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
  Higher amounts between 5 and 10 inches possible across the
  higher peaks. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph creating areas of
  blowing snow.

* WHERE...Northwest Plateau, Far Northwest Highlands, Northwest
  Highlands, West Central Mountains, West Central Highlands,
  Glorieta Mesa Including Glorieta Pass, Sandia and Manzano
  Mountains including Edgewood, Estancia Valley, Central
  Highlands and Far Northeast Highlands.

* WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 5 PM MST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult due to blowing snow and
  icy or snow-packed roads.
