Fort Worth Stockyards

Above, there's no doubt where you are when you see this sign. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Following our tour of John Wayne: An American Experience exhibit. We wandered around the Fort Worth Stockyards area.

It is not quite what I remembered of it when I first was there in 1984 during the 1984 Republican National Convention. Then again, we were there at night to enjoy Billy Bob's.

It is more touristy than before and much cleaned up. While having dinner at Riscky's Steakhouse, two riders on horseback passed by the restaurant on the cobblestone street.

There's plenty of shops to explore at the Stockyards, many of which are western apparel stores, gift shops and boot shops. There's plenty of restaurants to partake at. And, which was nice, they have indoor dining!

There weren't too many people wandering around, which made it nicer for us to take in everything.
