With the spike in coronavirus infections in recent weeks, the Japanese government has declared a State of Emergency in Tokyo.
Foreigners aren't affected by this since none, with a few exceptions, cannot enter the country.
But, it is good to know what the State of Emergency entails. It will last until February 7, at the earliest.
