More GOP Women Owning Guns Thanks To Biden-Harris Policies

More Republican women are buying guns, and Biden-Harris policies may be the reason.

Women are acquiring guns as they feel unsafe with the open border, crime and the instability of the  economy.

Fox News reported:

More Republican women are becoming gun owners, a trend one Second Amendment advocate says is a "direct result of many Biden-Harris policies."

"Ultimately, we feel unsafe," Katie Pointer Baney told Fox News Digital. "When we see a very porous border, when we see rising violent crime, when there's general instability in the economy … And a firearm is one of the best tools out there in order to protect yourself and protect your family."

Baney is managing director of government affairs for Delta Defense and the U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), which provides education and training for millions of gun owners.

Gun ownership rates among American adults as a whole are holding steady at 31%, according to polling data released by Gallup last week. But there has been a slight decrease in men owning guns, offset by a 5% increase in the share of women who reported owning a firearm.

Kamala Harris Burdened By What She Had Been: Border Czar

The liberal media are tripping over themselves trying to rewrite history concerning Kamala Harris's appointment as "border czar". 

Their gaslighting lies are being led by Axios, who themselves reported that Harris was appointed "border czar" back in 2021. 

Well, social media is digging up plenty of "receipts" showing that the liberal media did report that Harris was appointed "border czar", a position she failed miserably.

As she herself has said, "What can be, unburdened by what has been." She doesn't want to be "burdened" by what actually was.

As President Ronald Reagan said, "Facts are stubborn things!"

Grisham Calls For Special Session For Gun Control

New Mexico Gov. "Malevolent" Michelle Lujan Grisham is calling for a special session of the legislature to take up "public safety protections", which is her euphemism for gun control. 

However, if this special session is for dealing with the southern border that the Mexican cartels control, then I would be for it. But she previously said that she wants her gun control proposals passed and may call a special session to do it.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican:

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced Wednesday she will call the Legislature into a special session July 18 "to take up additional public safety protections that New Mexicans demand."

“While we made some progress toward a safer New Mexico during the 30-day day session, we agree that we must do more,” Lujan Grisham said in a statement.

“The special session in July will enable us to deliver additional statutory changes that reduce the danger and risk New Mexico communities face every day," she said. "The best proposals for making our state safer will be under consideration, and I welcome input from my colleagues in the legislature."

She couldn't get all that she wanted during the legislature's regular session in infringing upon New Mexican's Second Amendment rights, so she is trying to ram them through in a special session. Despicable!

SCOTUS: Texas Can’t Block Federal Agents From Border

The U.S. Supreme Court upheld a long-standing rule that the federal government has sole authority to enforce border protection laws.

Unfortunately, the federal government, under His Fraudulency Joe Biden, is not enforcing the border. They are allowing thousands of illegal aliens to flood into the country.

The Texas Tribune reported:

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ordered Texas to allow federal border agents access to the state’s border with Mexico, where Texas officials have deployed miles of concertina wire.

The order did not explain justices’ decisions. For now, it effectively upholds longstanding court rulings that the Constitution gives the federal government sole responsibility for border security.

In October of last year, Texas sued the federal government after Border Patrol agents cut some of the wire strung along the Rio Grande, arguing the Department of Homeland Security destroyed the state’s property and interfered in Texas’ border security efforts.

The 5-4 order from the Supreme Court vacated a previous injunction from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that prevented Border Patrol agents from cutting the concertina wire.

The ruling would have been fine if the court ordered the Biden Administration to enforce border security. But they didn't.

Block Introduces Border Barrier Funding Bill

ALAMOGORDO, N.M.—On Friday, New Mexico state Rep. John Block (R-Alamogordo) announced H.B. 111 to spend $1.5 billion of New Mexico’s surplus revenues on the completion of the border barrier between Mexico and New Mexico. The current amount of unfinished border barrier between them is approximately 50.3 open miles. 

The appropriation follows the current market rate of border barriers, as done in the neighboring state of Texas, at approximately $30 million per mile.

As the border catastrophe continues under the current Joe Biden regime, which has done worse than nothing to stop the flow of illegal substances and immigrants into the country, the need to protect New Mexicans and migrants from deadly drugs, human trafficking, terrorism, and other criminal activity, is now a pandemic.

According to official reports, over seven million illegal immigrants have flooded into the United States under the Biden regime.

As Voice of America reported on January 3, 2024, “U.S. officials processed an estimated 300,000 people at the U.S. border with Mexico in December, which would be the highest number ever recorded, according to multiple news organizations.”

In recent history, New Mexico saw a record-breaking fentanyl drug bust, with one such seizure of over 1 million fentanyl pills, per the FBI.

“With the truly criminal failure of the Joe Biden administration to stop the border crisis, our border state is now forced to do the job of the federal government to protect our citizens. I will not stand idly by and allow my constituents to continue to be saddled with the consequences of Biden’s failures,” said Rep. Block.

“In 2023, I sponsored a memorial to bring awareness to the humanitarian catastrophe on our border, but it was killed by radical Democrats who refused to acknowledge this crisis on our doorstep. There is no better way to spend these excess revenues than by protecting our residents.” continued the representative.

“Now that records are being shattered with the unparalleled numbers of illegal border crossings and tons of fentanyl flowing in, maybe now Democrats will finally begin to act to protect their constituents’ safety from this unprecedented border catastrophe. People continue dying daily due to the Cartel’s caravan of deadly fentanyl and human exploitation. The depravity and inhumanity must end — and I will do everything in my power to make that happen.”

RV Border Crossing Tips

Over the years, I have been to Mexico once and to Canada twice. Never have I been to either country in an RV. 

RV Life has posted an article with tips on crossing the border to each country. 

There apparently are special rules involving crossing the border in an RV. My late aunt and uncle used to drive their Class A motorhome down to San Felipe quite often. They never ran into any problems that I am aware of. They traveled there back in the 1970s and 1980s.

Lots of RVers dream of taking the long pilgrimage through Canada to Alaska, while others want to enjoy the sunny weather in Mexico. You’ll definitely need to plan ahead if you want to cross international borders because these are carefully guarded. There are well-established rules and practices at each border, although the specifics may vary depending on whether you’re going to Canada or Mexico. Japan Dropping COVID Border Measures Saturday

Japan has moved up the dropping of COVID border measures from May 8 to this coming Saturday.

According to the Japan Times:

Starting on Saturday, passengers arriving in Japan will no longer be required to submit proof of vaccination or negative test results, according to media reports, as the country braces for an influx of travelers during the Golden Week holidays.

Currently, all incoming passengers — including Japanese nationals and foreign residents — are required to present proof that they have received at least three COVID-19 vaccine shots or have tested negative for the virus within 72 hours before departure.

The government had previously said it planned to end the border measures on May 8, when the category for COVID-19 under the Infectious Disease Law will be downgraded from one similar to Class 2 to Class 5, which is on par with seasonal influenza.

Japan Ditching COVID Border Controls May 8

Japan is finally ditching its covid travel requirements for inbound tourists. Things will be getting back to some normalcy beginning May 8

Kyodo News reported:

TOKYO - Japan will end the current border control measures on travelers from overseas on May 8 in line with its decision to categorize COVID-19 as a common disease the same day, the government said Monday, in a major shift toward normalizing social and economic activities.

The government will simultaneously start a new genomic surveillance program, under which entrants with symptoms such as fever are tested voluntarily, with the aim of detecting new infectious diseases.

Currently, all entrants are required to present certification of three COVID-19 doses or a negative coronavirus test taken within 72 hours of departure.

The end of the COVID-19 border controls, first introduced in February 2020 and considered by some the most stringent among the Group of Seven industrialized nations, is expected to help revive inbound tourism to Japan, where spending by foreign visitors in 2021 plunged to a fraction of the record 4.8 trillion yen ($36 billion) in 2019.

Drug and human trafficking across our border is skyrocketing."   Pearce also addressed the lack of political courage of El Paso’s mayor Oscar Leeser:   “Mayor Leeser last month had declared a state of emergency in his city because of the migrant crisis and the thousands of people pouring into his community. Now he’s covering up this evidence by quickly cleaning up the streets and migrant camps and hiding the problem from the President and national media. Shame on him for his lack of integrity and blatant cowardice to not admit the crisis is happing around him and to not confront the catastrophe head on.”   Former New Mexico Congresswoman Yvette Herrell also issued the following statement on today’s presidential border visit:   “For too long this President and his administration have ignored the crisis at the Southern border. His visit today is too little, too late, we need real leadership and a path forward to secure the border and reform legal immigration….Republicans in Congress have commonsense solutions to keep Americans safe and put an end to the crisis, but President Biden refuses to act.”

Panel: Japan Should Ease COVID Border Controls For Foreigners

The Japanese government panel met today and they say Japan should ease COVID-19 border controls for foreigners.

They call for a gradual reopening of Japan's borders for foreign tourists.

According to the Mainichi Shimbun:

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japan should aim to normalize its coronavirus travel controls for foreigners as soon as possible, some members of a government panel said Wednesday, calling for a gradual reopening of its borders for tourists to boost the economy.

The government should relax its daily limit on foreign visitors and ease additional immigration procedures needed to enter Japan once such restrictions are confirmed less effective in curbing infection cases, private-sector members of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy said.

Amid criticism of the country's strict border controls, Japan raised the daily cap on overseas entrants on April 10 from 7,000 to 10,000. Visitors are limited to business people, technical interns and students. The ban on tourists remains.

Japan Times: March 1 Border Rules Explained

Japan is set to reopen its borders to foreign national (to a limited extent) on March 1. Foreign tourists will still not be allowed into the country. But, things are slowly creeping in that direction.

The Japan Times has posted an article explaining what Japan's border rules are come March 1.

They start it off with:

Japan is set to ease border restrictions from March, allowing foreign nationals who are not tourists, including students and business travelers, to finally come to the nation.

Another significant change for travelers, including Japanese and foreign residents, is the shortening of the quarantine period for people who are entering the country — from the current seven days to three days.

But navigating the government’s documents and websites to find out exactly who can enter and under what conditions can be tricky.

A few minutes ago, former President Donald Trump finished his remarks at the border wall in Texas.

It was a good thing he finished his talk when he did. I was sitting out on the deck watching and it started to rain at about the same time.

He was in good form. He pointed out how secure the U.S.-Mexico border was while he was president and what a humanitarian mess His Fraudulency Joe Biden turned it into.

Before his talk, he spoke at a briefing that was covered by the Houston Chronicle:

Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday slammed President Joe Biden and his administration for stopping construction of the border wall and his other immigrations policies, which Trump said is why the border is now seeing a record surge of illegal crossings.

“We did a hell of a job,” Trump said at the briefing at the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Weslaco Regional Office. ““Now we have an open, really dangerous border.”

Trump spoke at a briefing near the Texas border where Gov. Greg Abbott and the Texas Department of Public Safety told him that border security has only gotten worse since he left office. Abbott said the situation has become “amazing and disastrous” on the border.

Biden Blames HIS Border Crisis On Trump Administration

His Fraudulency Joe Biden is either delusional, senile, dishonest or a combination of all three.

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden blamed the Trump administration for ongoing problems at the U.S.-Mexico border, citing its failure to cooperate and share critical information during the presidential transition period.

In an exclusive interview that aired Friday with "TODAY" show co-anchor Craig Melvin, Biden said his administration inherited “one god-awful mess at the border” from former President Donald Trump. He said it’s the result of “the failure to have a real transition — cooperation from the last administration, like every other administration has done.”

After the November election, Biden said that he had dispatched his transition team to meet with the officials leading the major departments across the government.

In any case, this is definitely high on the bullshit meter.
