They hypocrisy of Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham knows no limits.

The flap over Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham's jewelry buying refuses to go away. I'm sure that she would like it to, but her own non-candor is feeding more suspicions.

She refuses to fully answer questions in an interview setting that was requested by KRQE.

They reported:

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – In April, non-essential businesses were closed. But, one opened just for the governor to buy jewelry. 

KRQE News 13 first reported the story Tuesday and on Thursday, was the first time Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham responded on camera. “Well, let’s start with the first part, there’s a story that’s wildly inaccurate about my personal practices,” Lujan Grisham said. But, the governor did not point out at Thursday’s press conference what was inaccurate about our story. 

The governor has refused to do an interview with us and she has never reached out to us to say anything was inaccurate since the story aired Tuesday. After not letting us ask more questions today, her office later told us Thursday afternoon they took issue with us saying a store was opened in early April and that jewelry was delivered to the governor. 

Even though, in an email from the governor’s office, it said the governor called an employee at LIlly Barrack and purchased jewelry over the phone. The employee went to the store got the jewelry, and left it outside their home where the governor’s friend picked it up for the governor.

While everyone else had to just buy what was essential for living, Her Majesty apparently felt she's too important to sit and wait to buy jewelry after the lockdown and stay-at-home orders end.

In her case, it's Do As I Order, Not As I Do!

Japan Lifts State of Emergency

Japan has ended their coronavirus state of emergency in the last remaining prefectures.

This was after 16,000 tested positive for the coronavirus and 800 deaths. They achieved this without any lockdowns. The United States could learn a lot from Japan.

The Japanese people practiced stay-at-home without threats and penalties, unlike places like New Mexico where the state government threatened people through tactics by the State Police that many called "Gestapo" and issued fines.

According to News On Japan:

The Japanese government has lifted the state of emergency in the last five of the country's 47 prefectures. 

The prime minister said it showed the strength of what he called "the Japan model," a reference to the public's adherence to stay-at-home policies without the threat of penalties. 

Abe Shinzo said on Monday, "Today the government will lift the state of emergency across the nation. We've set some of the most strict criteria in the world to lift the declaration, and we concluded that prefectures across the country have met that standard." 

The final five are Tokyo and three surrounding prefectures, as well as the northernmost island of Hokkaido. 

The state of emergency once covered the entire country. But it was scaled back in recent weeks, as the number of new infections declined. 

Abe said economic activity will restart in phases. He said he aims to create what he calls a 'new normal' in the country.

Gov. "Wuhan Lujan" Grisham and NM GOP Clash

Federal courts in different states have struck down stay-at-home and lockdown orders by Democrat governors during the past two weeks as "unconstitutional" and/or "overstepping their bounds" and "unlawful, invalid, and unenforceable".

So far, no case has reached any New Mexico federal court.

But, that hasn't stopped the feud that is rapidly building up in New Mexico between the Republican Party and the Democrats who run the state. The New Mexico Republican Party demanded that the state be reopened by 8:00 this morning.

The feud between the New Mexico Senate Republicans and Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham has now reached Fox News.

They wrote:

New Mexico Senate Republicans and Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham exchanged biting words in a pair of letters this week over Republican demands that the governor reopen the entire state by Thursday. 

After a Monday letter from most of the GOP members of the state Senate demanding the state reopen, Lujan Grisham responded with a letter of her own Tuesday, obtained by the Las Cruces Sun News, accusing the legislators of an "utter failure and unflinching surrender to the virus ravaging our communities, your communities, and those your represent whether you believe in the danger of this disease or not." 

The conflict in the southwestern state comes as legal battles and protests rage in states around the country between those opposed to the economic shutdowns and stay-at-home orders aimed at slowing the spread of the virus and governors intent on keeping them intact for at least the immediate future.

Things will probably escalate in the near future before the state gets reopened.

NM Republican Chairman Steve Pearce Statement On Gov. Lujan Grisham's Press Conference

RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce issued the following statement after Gov. Lujan Grisham's press conference updating her public health order:

"Gov. Lujan Grisham continues her piecemeal solution to our serious problem of treating constituents fairly. We've now learned it will be at least June before dine-in restaurants, salons, gyms and other establishments can be considered for a partial reopening. The continued shutdown is killing livelihoods while other businesses are partially opened and national chains take in New Mexico dollars. This is unjust and unfair. The inequitable order is forcing hundreds of restaurants to close, bankrupting other establishments and collapsing our state's economy."

L.A. County Could Keep Stay-At-Home Orders Through Summer

Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina made the following statement during questioning of Dr. Anthony Fauci, which is very important to remember (transcript courtesy of RushLimbaugh.com):

SCOTT: We didn’t set out with the goal of preventing 100 percent fatalities. That would be unrealistic. It is impossible. And we didn’t set out to keep quarantines in place until we found a safe and effective vaccine. That would take too long. While I respect the need for caution, we’re too often presented with a false dichotomy, either saving our economy or saving lives. 

We’ve seen the goalposts around flattening the curve move. And I think that’s unfortunate. Because at the same time we’re doing that, businesses collapsed, mental and physical health have declined, deaths of despair escalate, educational outcomes nosedive, as we wait in our living rooms praying for some good news around therapies and around vaccines. We set out to flatten the curve, and I think we have done a pretty good job of that.

Instead of flattening the curve, the Democrats are seeking to flatten the U.S. economy.

Not a month goes by when a news story makes me even more glad that I moved out of Commiefornia, specifically, Los Angeles County.

Los Angeles County’s stay-at-home orders will “with all certainty” be extended for the next three months, county Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer acknowledged during a Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday. 

Ferrer later added that even if the orders remain in place through the summer, restrictions will be “gradually relaxed” under a five-step plan. 

“We are being guided by science and data that will safely move us forward along the road to recovery in a measured way—one that allows us to ensure that effective distancing and infection control measures are in place,” Ferrer said, adding that the county is counting on the public’s compliance with the orders to be able to relax restrictions. 

Testifying before the Board of Superviros, Ferrer stressed further progress will be guided by efforts to contain the virus. Los Angeles County is now the Calfornia epicenter of the coronavirus, with more than 1,300 deaths so far.

We know what political party runs California and Los Angeles County, don't we?

Arizona Sheriff Refusing To Criminalize Making A Living

Unlike Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham and her New Mexico State Police "Gestapo", who are making criminals out of people who are trying to make a living, this sheriff in Arizona refuses to enforce lockdown/stay-at-home executive orders.

Los Alamos Reporter: "Our Mother Governor"

With a governor running New Mexico like a dictator, it is good that there are newspapers and columnists speaking out against Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham's actions.

The latest is an opinion piece from the Los Alamos Reporter by Tom Wright. The title: "Our Mother Governor".

It begins with:

The editorial boards of two major New Mexico newspapers have pointed out the heavy-handedness and lack of openness of our governor in dealing with her orders to shutter businesses and reopen our economy. 

Diane Rowe, owner of Papas Pawn and Gun in Grants was cited and is facing a $60,000 fine for disobeying the governor’s closure order. Papas Pawn opened again in April and allowed no more than two customers in at a time and required social distancing. On April 14, she received a cease-and-desist order. After she made a public statement about her right to open, six state police arrived on April 27 and delivered a citation charging $60,000 for twelve days of unlawful operation. Heavy-handed? Yes, mom spanked her pretty good.  

Aside from exercising her civil liberties, Ms. Rowe’s defense may be that a pawnshop is a financial institution for many who can’t get bank loans and perhaps exempt from the closure order. 

The governor needs public cooperation, but has told us her handpicked Economic Recovery Council is not subject to the open meetings law and therefore the public has no right to know what they discuss. The New Mexico Foundation for Open Government has taken issue with this and they make a good point. All citizens of New Mexico are affected by their discussions and advice and we do have the right to know their thinking.

There's a lot more to the article and it is well worth a read and it should be passed around. Wait until you read the part about the county sheriffs and the New Mexico State Police.

NM GOP Chairman Sends Letter to Attorney General Barr

Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce has sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General William Barr asking for an examination of the lockdown orders of Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham and the resulting constitutional rights violations.

A little while ago, I received the following email from the NM Republican Party:

Dear Friends, Chairman Pearce was interviewed this morning on Fox & Friends. He explained on national television how Gov. Lujan Grisham's public health order is unfair and unjust. The Chairman pointed out that the shutdown of small businesses, while national chains remain open, raises legal questions and is discriminatory.

Later today Chairman Pearce will also send a letter to U.S. Attorney General William Barr. The letter exhorts the Attorney General to examine Gov. Lujan Grisham's public health order as it pertains to civil rights violations. It asks Mr. Barr to look into the unjust, unfair policies and practices involving small business shutdowns in our state.  

Our economy is now collapsing, and small businesses are suffering and even being fined and threatened. Questions are being raised about our constitutional rights and free commerce. 

There is no reason why small establishments cannot practice safe social distancing. It's a matter of fairness and equity, and small businesses are going under.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham Sending Her Gestapo To Grants

Chasing people away from churches, beaches, hiking trails, and parks, and arresting those who do not meekly comply, is not enforcing the “law,” it is enforcing the whimsical edicts of people unqualified to craft and issue them. When all of this is over, can the damage be undone? - Jack Dunphy, PJ Media, 4/24/20.

Trouble is brewing in nearby Grants, New Mexico (about 45 miles from here).

Cibola County Commissioner Robert Scott Windhorst reported:

The times we live in. I was informed that the Governor will be sending State Police Officers to Grants this Monday to enforce the Governor's small businesses closures of businesses she deems unessential. The fines will be $5000.00. Where is the fairness in allowing large corporate stores to be opened and closing small Mom and Pop stores? Where is the fairness of allowing early release of questionable inmates and closing all gun stores? Why can't barbershops and beauty parlours work by appointment? No elective surgeries, but abortion clinics are allowed to open and take lives that the Governor swears she is trying to save? God must be disappointed with our State of New Mexico and the heavy handed assault on our rights for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness! I feel great love for our community and see tremendous devastation for our State's economy. The Governor will go down in our States history as one of the worst Governors ever.

I wonder what Cibola County Sheriff Tony Mace (who is also president of the New Mexico Sheriffs Association, which I am a member) plans to do about this? Would (or could) he have sheriffs deputies intervene?

As I said before, Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham is using the New Mexico State Police as her personal Gestapo.

Perhaps good citizens should show up and do a sit-down protest in front of the State Police.

UPDATE (4/27/20):

Well, she did it!

Later today, it was reported by KOAT Channel 7, the governor's Gestapo (New Mexico State Police) reneged on their agreement with Sheriff Tony Mace to stay out of Grants. They came in this afternoon and served a notice of violation to the city for "violating" the governor's lockdown order. Apparently, the governor leaned on the chief of the New Mexico State Police.

From KOAT:

Shortly after the Mayor declared the city was open, the state police showed up at the town’s golf course and gave them a “notice of violation.” It indicated if they continued to remain open they could be formally cited $5,000. 

That did not stop Mayor Hicks. He rushed to the golf course, told all of the golfers who were coming off to get back on and finish their games. 

“What's wrong? Social distancing guys get a shot of that,” Hicks told reporters while holding his arms up and walking towards a wide open golf course. “How is that for social distancing.” 

“I am going to come back and golf today for sure and haven’t golfed in years.” 

About 20 people were on the course at the time including City Councilor Rick Lucero, who just finished 18 holes.

Mayor Hicks says that if the city is formally cited, he's going to sue in federal court.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's Gestapo

As regards the closure of any kind of business, know this: All this was done via Exec. Order, EO. EO's are not law, These businesses being closed is in fact, in law, a "seizure" of their property; a seizure must be committed only with a warrant. There was a Herbal store somewhere in NM which I read about on a FB page that told the NM state cops that showed up, when they threatened to close her, to leave, and come back with a warrant, and also to call her lawyer; they left. - A Facebook contributor who did some independent research.

Governor "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham continues to use the New Mexico State Police as her personal Gestapo in forcing businesses to close under her Executive Orders.

The latest is an Albuquerque gun store, Calibers, who tried to defy the EOs and opened up.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico State Police issued a cease-and-desist order for an Albuquerque gun shop who publicly defied the Governor’s public health order that requires nonessential businesses to close. 

“State police showed up to Calibers and issued a cease and desist for us to operate,” said Louie Sanchez, owner of Calibers. “Which isn't very fair because of the fact that we feel like maybe we're getting picked on because we took a stance again them.”

Calibers announced their reopening last week even though the governor’s order deemed them nonessential.

“We don't think this is fair, the governor is literally picking winners and losers for who will stay in business,” Sanchez said.

The State Police may have issued a cease & desist order, but was there also a warrant by a court?

The governor's executive orders on stay-at-home and business closures is set to expire in 10 days. That is, unless she decides to extend them. But if she does, the proverbial "fit hitting the shan" will ensue. The next ten days will be quite interesting!

New Mexico GOP Calls For Reopening of Small Businesses

The Republican Party of New Mexico is calling on the governor to reopen small businesses before the closures ruins them permanently.

KRQE reported:

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico’s Republican Party is coming out against the state’s continued COVID-19 related closures, worried that it put a lot of small businesses in rural parts of the state out of business for good. 

New Mexico Republican Party Chairman Steve Pearce convened several small business owners and GOP lawmakers in a virtual news conference Monday, arguing for the reopening of small businesses around the state in “a responsible manner.” 

Referring to the health order related closures, Pearce says small business owners are “going broke because of lack of common sense.” 

“We can maintain the five or less in an establishment and still be open for business,” Pearce said.

"Lujan Virus" Lunacy

Thanks to the stupidity of Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham, the above is what the people of New Mexico have to contend with. It is far safer for people to camp out in the great outdoors than to flock to Walmart. Where's the logic in closing campgrounds?

Thankfully, the national forests in the state remain open for dry camping.

She closes down "mom and pop" stores such as garden supplies, gun stores, liquor stores, et al, but allows the "big box" stores such as Walmart and Home Deport  to remain open where more people congregate and "may" transmit the coronavirus to others.

The state is also tracking people's cell phone signals to see if they are in compliance with her "stay-at-home" order, which (to put it mildly) raises a number of privacy questions.

Thankfully, at least the gun rights advocates are fighting back by filing a lawsuit last week in federal court against her closure of gun stores throughout the state.

At present, the stay-at-home order expires on April 30. But if she again extends it, a rebellion may just be around the corner.

Up On A Ridge

My main computer was finally finished with repairs and upgrades. One of them was upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10. It is going to take some getting used to, but I do notice that it is slower than before.

After returning home, I got some carrots for Christmas and the two horses across the road from her.

When I was done feeding the horses, I headed over to Six Mile Canyon to re-find the overlook for "The Bowl", a crater-like area of Cibola National Forest.

Well, I didn't find it, but I did find a small road that goes up a ridge overlooking Six Mile Canyon. I'll have to ask one of the guys where the road to the overlook of "The Bowl". I went there once last year. It was a nice view of Six Mile Canyon.

After driving, I headed home to treat myself to a mug of ice tea. It is now clouding up and the area will be cooling down a tad.

Having our Six Mile Canyon "playground" makes enduring the stay-at-home order a lot easier.

Making The Best of It

One nice thing about being out in God's County is having great views and decent weather to sit outside with a class of ice tea if one is under a stay-at-home order.

The mailbox had three magazines in it yesterday, so I poured some Arizona ice tea and brought out the CD player and read.

Two of the three magazines were outdoors oriented, Motorhome and Outside. The third was from AMAC (the conservative alternative to AARP).

My improvised attachment of the old side view mirror of the Jeep didn't last too long, so I have to wait until the new one arrives in the mail. I can still drive it in Six Mile Canyon, but would probably get cited if I try driving to the Flying J.

At least I have plenty of food and other necessities here to avoid trips into Gallup, at least for a week and a half.

NM Governor Extends Emergency Stay-At-Home Order; Closes Liquor Stores

Well, she went and did it. People are hopping mad.

New Mexico Governor "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham extended the emergency stay-at-home order from the former date of April 10 to April 30 today.

KRQE reported:

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has extended the emergency ‘stay-at-home’ order Monday to combat the spread of COVID-19. Additional businesses deemed non-essential in the new order include automobile dealerships, payday lenders and liquor stores and according to the governor’s office, they must close. However, the order states that new and used automobile dealers may sell cars through the internet or other audiovisual means. 

The order goes into effect April 7 at 8 a.m. and through at least April 30. The governor still encourages social distancing. In the original public health order, New Mexicans are instructed to stay at home except for emergency or essential outings and non-essential businesses that had been ordered to close in-person operations must remain closed.

If grocers can remain open, why can't liquor stores? How is closing down liquor stores going to make everyone safer? Are grocery stores who have beer, wine and liquor departments in them still allowed to sell beer, wine and liquor? The Flying J here in Jamestown has a walk-in beer cooler and they also sell hard liquor at the cashier. Will this order stop them from selling any of those products?

How are people able to pay their bills and buy food and necessities if they cannot get loans? I had a conversation with my banker in California today and he told me that people are getting desperate and are breaking into ATMs and burglaries are on the rise.

I can somewhat understand extending the current emergency order, but adding these businesses to the Governor's "non-essential" list is ridiculous. And, she still is ignoring the Department of Homeland Security's position that gun stores are essential.

Today, I went to Lowe's market and liquor store in Gallup and the floor of the liquor store was marked every six feet for people to stand while waiting to advance to the cashier. It's a good thing that I picked up beer and wine today.

We have ourselves a little dictator.

New Mexico's Stay-At-Home Order

Just in case anyone in New Mexico is wondering about the state's stay-at-home order, KRQE has posted all the information one needs to know with FAQs.

It is a mandatory order, not a "suggestion".

They begin with:

On March 23, 2020, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and the New Mexico Department of Health announced a new public health emergency order, closing all businesses and non-profit entities to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 in New Mexico. The “Stay-at-Home” order went into effect at 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 24 and will remain in place through the end of April, unless otherwise amended.

 The post has a list of what is considered "essential" businesses in the state. Contrary to what the Department of Homeland Security said, gun stores aren't considered "essential" under New Mexico's order.
