On March 23, 2020, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and the New Mexico Department of Health announced a new public health emergency order, closing all businesses and non-profit entities to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 in New Mexico. The “Stay-at-Home” order went into effect at 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 24 and will remain in place through the end of April, unless otherwise amended.The post has a list of what is considered "essential" businesses in the state. Contrary to what the Department of Homeland Security said, gun stores aren't considered "essential" under New Mexico's order.
