Mexico Passes $42 Immigration Tax for Cruise Passengers

There's nothing like being welcomed as a tourist to a foreign country. Unless, of course, that country wants to charge tourists an immigration levy who arrive aboard a cruise ship.

According to AP News:

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Cruise ship industry players are up in arms after the lower house of Mexico’s Congress voted this week to charge a $42 immigration levy for every passenger on cruise ships that dock in Mexico.

Two-thirds of the money raised, moreover, would go to the Mexican army, not to improve port facilities.

The Mexican Association of Shipping Agents cried foul late Thursday, saying the charges could make Mexico uncompetitively expensive for cruise ships.

In the past, cruise ship passengers had been exempted from the immigration fee, because they sleep aboard the vessels and some don’t even get off the ship during port calls. They would apparently be charged the $42 fee anyway, according to the new budget law.

Japan: New Entry Requirements You Need To Know About

Above, Godzilla peering over a building in Shinjuku. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

It has been over a month since Japan opened up to foreign tourism. Things have gotten easier to get in, but there's still some "rigmarole" travelers have to contend with.

SoraNews24 has posted an article on just what they are.

They begin with:

It’s been over a month now since Japan reopened its borders to international tourists on 11 October, but unlike a lot of other countries, there’s still a bit of rigmarole to get in.

Last month, visitors were required to enter personal details such as vaccination status into an app called MySOS, but from 1 November, that requirement was abolished, and has now been replaced with “Visit Japan Web“, a website designed to smooth out the immigration process.

One of our reporters flew into Japan from Singapore the other day, and upon using the Visit Japan Web site, they noticed three major differences.

Tourists To Japan Can Pre-Register Their COVID Documents

Above, Narita Airport arrival lobby during pre-pandemic times. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Japan has finally re-opened to foreign visitors, but there are some procedures that have to be done when entering the country.

Time Out has posted an article on how tourists can pre-register their COVID documents to make the process easier.

I took a look at the English version of the Instruction Manual. Frankly, it seems like there is a whole lot of stuff to have to complete and, therefore, overly burdensome. Even registering on the site has a lot of stuff to do. Whomever is completing it, I hope they have a lot of patience.

The article begins with:

Japan is finally reopened to the world and tourists are able to come in and explore all the new attractions that have opened since the pandemic. Thankfully, Japan has dropped many of its entry restrictions, but still encourages travellers to prepare for their trip by pre-registering all Covid-19 documents before entering the country.

Previously, this fast track pre-registration was done through the MySOS app. However, as of Tuesday November 1, the pre-registration system has been changed to Visit Japan Web. You’ll only be able to use MySOS until January 13 2023 if your information was previously registered in the app. If not, you will have to submit all your documents through Visit Japan Web.

Travelers who don't pre-register at the website can do so at the airport.

Japan To Favor The Rich In Immigration

Above, Narita Airport arrival lobby. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

It looks like being wealthy will give one some special privileges when traveling to Japan if the government's plan for wealthy visitors is adopted.

Meanwhile, the "messy masses" (i.e., the non-wealthy) will have to put up with less favorable Immigration rules.

The Japan Times reported:

The government plans to simplify the immigration procedures for foreign travelers arriving in Japan by luxury transport such as private jets and superyachts usually used by the wealthy, sources close to the matter said Monday.

The move comes as the government hopes such affluent travelers will bring considerable spending power and help accelerate a postpandemic economic recovery, the sources said.

Currently, those arriving by private jet for tourism need to apply 10 days before landing in a Japanese airport. The government is considering shortening the period to three days, the same as entering for business purposes, the sources said.

GOVERNOR’S RESPONSE DEMONSTRATES A DISREGARD FOR OUR CITIZENS’ SAFETY AND WELL-BEING

Source: Press Release

GOV.  LUJAN GRISHAM AGAIN SHOWS WEAK LEADERSHIP DENYING CONGRESSWOMAN HERRELL’S REQUEST FOR NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS TO PROTECT OUR NEW MEXICO BORDER

GOVERNOR’S RESPONSE DEMONSTRATES A DISREGARD FOR OUR CITIZENS’ SAFETY AND WELL-BEING

Albuquerque, April 11—The Republican Party of New Mexico is shocked and dismayed that a request from Rep. Yvette Herrell to Gov. Lujan Grisham to deploy the New Mexico National Guard to the Mexico border was dismissed. The Governor’s refusal to take action reeks of politics and manifests her lack of concern for the health and safety of New Mexicans.

Rep. Herrell had written the Governor, stressing the need for the troops to stop the massive wave of migrant families and unaccompanied children who are coming across the border. The Congresswoman informed the Governor that New Mexico is on the front line of the border problem that’s been exacerbated by the Biden Administration’s weak immigration policies. She added the influx of migrants also threatens public health as New Mexico continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Governor’s Office rejected Herrell’s request, suggesting she take her concerns to federal agencies.

“This is another case of our Governor being derelict in her duty as Chief Executive,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce. “She continues to fail New Mexicans with her poor choices and bad decisions. It’s harrowing to know that after virtually destroying our state with her pandemic policies that the Governor would risk the security and safety of New Mexicans along the border. When she cannot deal with a problem, she deflects. This is poor leadership and a dangerous way to handle the threat at our state border.”

Rep. Herrell also pointed out to the Governor that the U.S. Border Patrol is overworked, undermanned and under-supplied. She said it’s the Governor’s duty to protect her citizens.

“If Governor Grisham was serious about the health and welfare of New Mexican citizens, she would move swiftly to send National Guard troops to the border," said Herrell. “She does not need to wait for the federal government to do her job. We already know many migrants coming across our southern border illegally have been exposed to or have COVID-19.”

The U.S. Border Patrol last week reported nearly 170,000 encounters with migrants on the U.S.-Mexico border in March. That was a 20-year high. That figure includes almost 19,000 children traveling by themselves across the U.S.-Mexico border. The crossings are happening in record numbers.

Biden Is Already Screwing Up

It didn't take very long for President "Plugs" Biden to screw things up after he was sworn in.

From the Republican Party of New Mexico:

Albuquerque, January 20—Today President Biden signed two executive orders that will have a serious impact on New Mexico and its workforce. Hours after his inauguration, Biden stopped funding for President Trump’s border wall. He also signed an executive order that will have the United States rejoin the Paris accord.

The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce on the two executive actions:

“While we wish success for any new administration and commend President Biden in his call for unity, the executive orders he signed today present serious problems for New Mexico and our country. Cutting off border wall funding will have a harmful impact on immigration policy and will make our American border less secure. Biden’s executive order to re-enter the Paris climate accord will also have a devastating impact on New Mexico, which relies heavily on its vital oil and gas industry. The accord mandate, transitioning away from fossil fuels, will hurt our state even more than COVID-19. This move would mean crippling job losses and billions in lost revenues for New Mexico."

The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico. Led by an Executive Board and its Chairman, former NM Congressman Steve Pearce, RPNM serves all New Mexicans via its headquarters in Albuquerque and can be contacted at (505) 298-3662.

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas had this reaction to Biden's executive orders on the Paris climate accord and the border wall:

By signing this order, President Biden indicates that he’s more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh. Rejoining the Paris agreement isn’t about ‘restoring America’s leadership abroad’ or ‘solving the climate crisis,’ but instead it is about Democrats’ plans to destroy jobs they don’t like—including thousands of manufacturing jobs—and cede control of our energy future to other countries. America’s ‘commitment’ to the Paris Climate Agreement will be used by the Biden administration as justification for a whole litany of new executive actions and burdensome federal regulations to shape our energy and environmental policy—which will burden American families, manufacturers, and businesses with higher energy costs at a time when they are already struggling.

If the Biden administration believes that rejoining the agreement is something the American people should support, then he should submit the Paris Climate Agreement to the Senate as a treaty and let the people decide through their elected representatives. But he knows that it would fail. So like his Democratic predecessor, President Biden is governing by executive fiat.

Without the Paris Climate Agreement, the United States has led the world in emissions reductions. Likewise, the United States over the last 50 years has dramatically reduced the levels of some of the most harmful pollutants and improved the air quality for all Americans, while at the same time helping more people get better paying jobs and improving their lives.

Rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement will do little to affect the climate, and will harm the livelihoods of everyday Americans all across the country. I’ll continue working with my colleagues to fight for blue-collar workers and to defend America’s energy independence.

It is deeply troubling that most of Joe Biden’s first acts as president were to protect illegal immigrants and encourage illegal immigration at the expense of American jobs and workers. Not only has he chosen to halt construction of a wall on America’s southern border and to continue Barack Obama’s illegal executive amnesty by preserving the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, but he is promoting open-borders legislation that would gift citizenship to over 11 million illegal immigrants, roll back immigration enforcement, and promote and increase foreign labor at a time when many Americans desperately need work.

These actions illustrate that today’s Democratic Party puts people here illegally – or attempting to come here illegally – before American workers. President Biden and his administration may not see a problem with illegal immigration, but millions of working men and women do. His executive actions and policies make a mockery of the rule of law, and his deeply unserious legislative push demonstrates that, despite his rhetoric, he is fully on-board with the radical open-borders agenda.  I will continue to fight for measures to secure our border, reform our legal immigration system, and uphold the rule of law.

We're in for a rough ride, folks!

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's "Anguish" Staged

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is getting a lot of heat over some old photos of her supposed crying in anguish at a chain-link fence over migrant children in a detention center in Texas.

New photos have turned up with different angles showing that what was on the other side were not children, but cars in a parking lot or a road.

According to Fox News:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was called out on social media over photographs near a migrant detention center that critics said appeared to be staged during her 2018 campaign, a charge that her office denied.
The "previously unpublished" pictures came to light when a photographer, Ivan Pierre Aguirre, posted them on his Twitter account. He said that they were taken last year in Tornillo, Texas.

The New York Democrat tweeted out the post, writing that she'll "never forget this, because it was the moment I saw with my own eyes that the America I love was becoming a nation that steals refugee children from their parents,& caged them. More kids died after this. To date, no one has been held accountable. We need to save these kids.”
The tweet was, however, called out by some on social media who claimed that the pictures near a chain-linked fence appeared to be "staged." There's one image of Ocasio-Cortez apparently bent over in anguish and there's another with her hands covering her face.
"Did the cars cause all that pain and anguish?” a social media user wrote in a tweet, sharing pictures from the protest showing that the Democrat, on the far left, looking at an empty road with a few cars.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham "Horrified" Her 2022 Voters Are Being Deported

Poor New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. She's "horrified" that President Trump will be deporting her 2022 voting base.

KOAT reported:
SANTA FE, N.M. —Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is responding to President Donald Trump's latest order about giving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents the go-ahead to "remove" millions of undocumented immigrants in the country.
"I'm horrified by his efforts," Lujan Grisham said Wednesday. "This isn't new. This has been an effort to leverage resources for a wall."

On Monday, Trump tweeted that "ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States."

She's a fine one to complain. She initially denied that there was a border crisis, removed the National Guard from the border and then did an about-face and went to Washington to seek funds for reimbursing localities for costs incurred for managing the influx of illegals.

Now she's upset that illegals will be deported. No doubt she's worried that without votes from illegals, she won't be re-elected.

Buffoon Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham Suing Trump Administration

Let's see.

What governor of New Mexico wants to make it a "sanctuary state" for illegal aliens?

What governor of New Mexico pulled the National Guard from the New Mexico-Mexico border, thereby allowing a flood of illegals into the state?

Who declared that the immigration crisis is a "charade of border fear-mongering"?

Who went to Washington, D.C. recently to beg for funds to reimburse cities for the "humanitarian crisis" aid costs they incurred?

The answer to those is Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham!

Now she's filing a lawsuit against the Trump Administration over quick-release of illegals into the state's communities.

According to KVIA:
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - The state of New Mexico is suing the Trump administration over its quick-release asylum practices for immigrants, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced Monday afternoon.
The suit, filed in U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico, seeks to halt what it calls the Trump administration's "indiscriminate practice of releasing migrants in communities in the state's borderland area," which the governor said is in violation of the federal government's own "safe release" policy.
The U.S. Justice Department declined to comment on the lawsuit when contacted late Monday.
Under the "safe release" policy, asylum-seeking individuals were provided assistance in reaching their final destinations while waiting for their claims to be processed. The lawsuit alleges the "sudden and unlawful abandonment of this policy was done without notice or opportunity for input by affected jurisdictions."
That federal program was canceled in October 2018 amid a tide of migration from Central America into the United States. Asylum seekers typically are released almost immediately, while New Mexico cities including Las Cruces, Albuquerque and Deming have borne some of the brunt.

This governor is such a buffoon. She caused a lot of this mess by pulling the National Guard from the border and is refusing to re-deploy them now. And she has the nerve to beg for money for pay for the "charade" of her own making.

Apparently, her recent trip to Washington to beg for funds didn't go too well.

NM Gov Changing Her Tune On Immigration

About a week ago, I posted a blog about New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's trip to Washington, D.C. to seek reimbursement for state and local funds spent on dealing with the migrant crisis that has hit the state.

Initially, Lujan Grisham denied there was even a crisis and pulled the National Guard from the border. Her nonfeasance made the problem into the crisis we see today. Others are now taking notice of her incompetence.

Liberty Nation posted:
The radical-leftist governor of New Mexico, who sent National Guard troops packing in February, needs federal help now, it seems. She’s in the Swamp to beg for funding as illegal immigrants overwhelm the state. After months of neglecting the border cities and towns, toeing the DC elite party line of no “crisis” here, and facing a veritable citizens’ revolt in the Land of Enchantment, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is demanding federal government assistance for the dire situation – one she exacerbated through indifference to constituents.

And it comes on the heels of yet another county drawing a line in the sand and refusing any further influx of illegal immigrants seeking asylum. Sierra County, boasting a population 11,116 and a 21% poverty rate, joined Otero and Lincoln counties in passing resolutions opposing the relocation of migrants to their communities.
This isn’t just happening in these three counties, either – it’s an untenable and cruel situation being thrust on an impoverished state by government officials who seem to be mere puppets for the Democratic Party.
In February, Grisham made national news for thumbing her nose at the president, her citizens, and national security when she sent the National Guard packing. She blithely stated: “New Mexico will not take part in the president’s charade of border fear-mongering,” and received a blast of positive kudos from Democrat toadies in the Swamp. It fit their narrative perfectly and from a border state to boot.
But three short months later, after recall and impeachment petitions*, shameful national news coverage of cities and towns overwhelmed by the “charade,” and 31 of 33 counties expressing their disdain for Grisham through resolutions, the governor is now asking President Trump and the Department of Homeland Security for their help.
Yes, people in New Mexico and around the nation have taken notice of what an incompetent governor Lujan Grisham is.

Gov. Lujan Grisham Seeks Migrant Reimbursement For Her Nonfeasance

Above, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

Nonfeasance
The intentional failure to perform a required duty or obligation.

Soon after taking office, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham pulled most of the National Guard troops from the New Mexico - Mexico border. Since then the state has been flooded with illegal migrants entering the state.

Grisham has also denied that there was even a "crisis" at the border.

Now, in an incredible display of chutzpah, she is now going to Washington, D.C. to get reimbursement from the federal government.

According to the Corvallis Gazette-Times:
SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — The Latest on immigration and border-related concerns in New Mexico (all times local):
2:20 p.m.
New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is traveling to Washington, D.C., to press for more federal resources to cope with an influx of asylum seekers at the U.S. border with Mexico.
Lujan Grisham spokesman Tripp Stelnicki said the governor was departing Tuesday for a scheduled face-to-face meeting this week with acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan.
Stelnicki said the governor will advocate for federal reimbursements to local communities as they provide humanitarian relief to migrant families.
Lujan Grisham also wants to discuss the U.S. Border Patrol's withdrawal from interior checkpoints in southern New Mexico that has riled local residents.
The first-year Democratic governor also is seeking an introductory meeting with Energy Secretary Rick Perry regarding his oversight of nuclear waste storage facilities and federal weapons laboratories in New Mexico.
The governor's trip includes partisan fundraising activities.
———
1 a.m.
A dozen Republican state legislators want Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham to reverse course and deploy more National Guard troops to the border with Mexico.
GOP House lawmakers including minority leader James Townsend of Artesia provided a letter Monday to the governor's office that urges Lujan Grisham to deploy more state National Guard troops to border communities.
Lujan Grisham has challenged President Trump's description of a security crisis on the border and withdrawn all but a dozen national guardsmen who continue to address humanitarian needs in a remote corridor for border-crossing immigration.

It is due to Lujan Grisham's nonfeasance that there is a crisis in New Mexico. She has a lot of nerve!

NM Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham Pisses Off Colorado's Governor

Above, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

If busing illegal migrants from New Mexico to Denver, Colorado wasn't bad enough, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham made matters worse by pissing of Colorado's governor.

According to KRQE:
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - The governor of Colorado is speaking out saying Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham did not provide a warning before sending migrants there.
A group of migrants were bused to Denver with the help of the governor's office. The Denver Post reports that Lujan Grisham's office paid $4,000 for the transport of 55 Central American migrants.
The Denver Post states that this was in coordination with a nonprofit, Annunciation House, that helps send migrants to Denver due to the overcapacity of shelters. This is reportedly the first time the organization sent migrants to another state.
The Denver Post says Governor Jared Polis supports providing assistance, however, was not provided any notice.

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham Busing Illegals To Denver

The Looney Left Report

Lunatics abound in the Democrat Party, and that also includes New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

The latest concerns the flood of illegal immigrants into New Mexico. She's now busing them to Denver, Colorado. The cost: $4,000 (so far).

From The Gateway Pundit:
Earlier this year, far left New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham withdrew 118 National Guard troops from New Mexico’s southern boundary with Mexico.
Governor Grisham called President Trump’s policies a “charade of border fear-mongering.”

Now the New Mexico border is being overrun by the drug cartels following the governor’s brilliant plan to remove troops from its southern border.

A local sheriff said he saw $60,000 in deadly drug shipments in April, up from $3,500 in January.
Now this…
The flood of illegals is too much for New Mexico to handle so now the liberal Democrat governor is busing the illegals to Denver.

Now New Mexico's problem (brought on by the Governor and her party in Santa Fe) is also Colorado's problem.

News From The New Mexico Political Journal

Albuquerque Mayor and City Council Make Illegal Immigrants the City's Top Priority—The Goal is to Encourage More Illegal Immigration to Albuquerque

Friday, May 10, 2019
In a sharp departure from Governor Susana Martinez's focus on economic expansion and job growth for New Mexicans, Governor Michelle Grisham is reorienting the state's priorities to encourage more illegal immigration into the state, seeing it as an alternative form of economic expansion.
Grisham has joined with Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller and City Councillor Pat Davis in diverting New Mexico taxpayer dollars toward encouraging illegal immigrants to settle in Albuquerque, claiming that the people wandering in from Honduras and other Central American countries are "asylum-seekers," akin to famous dissidents such as Alexander Solzhenitsyn and Andrei Sakharov.

EXPO NEW MEXICO TRANSFORMED into a HOUSING UNIT for ILLEGALS
Expo New Mexico, the home of the New Mexico State Fair, is now prepared to house illegal immigrants on its 236-acre property in central Albuquerque. The families will stay in dormitories which had only been used by New Mexico children showing their livestock at the State Fair. More than 2,000 illegal immigrants have come through Albuquerque in recent months claiming to be seeking "asylum."
However, there are no actual asylum seekers identified thus far—none of the illegal immigrants have been shown to be dissidents, or to hold any standing at all of concern to the Central American countries from which they are emigrating.
Instead, they are abandoning their homes, essentially at the open invitation of US Democratic Party elected officials as part of their efforts to grow voter rolls—regardless of the cost to American taxpayers.
Albuquerque has established an "Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs," a preposterous entity, given that the individuals migrating to New Mexico are not refugees and they are not "immigrants," but rather illegal immigrants who are merely walking into the US at the invitation of politicians.

POLICIES ARE FOOLING MANY NEW MEXICANS

As we have reported before, a number of otherwise intelligent voters we have interviewed, including attorneys and other professionals, have mimicked the lines used by Nancy Pelosi, telling NMPJ that what appears to most Americans to be an obvious crisis at the border is in fact "a manufactured crisis invented by Trump."
Grisham promotes the same concepts in discussing the illegals, saying:
"These asylum-seekers are primarily women and children and are not a danger to us; they need rest, hydration and minor medical checkups before they resume their journeys,” she said. “I’m proud of the courageous nonprofit network that has done such incredible work on the border and in Albuquerque.”
But our own interviews with Border Patrol agents reveal a different story. Relatively few of the supposed "families" are in fact even related, as mules and coyotes and single men work together, linking abandoned children with unattached males and females to engage in the ruse of presenting a nuclear family—one of the requirements for obtaining refugee or asylum status.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham PULLS Nat’l Guard Troops From Border, Drug Smuggling Explodes

If anyone needs a clear example of the word lunatic, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham fills the bill.

According to Borderpac.org:
New Mexico’s new, Trump-hating open-borders governor has taken radical actions just to spite the President — but the results are proving disastrous for her own state, and likely nation as well.
Trump deployed National Guard and U.S. Army troops to the Mexican border to deal with a huge increase in illegal entries in January.

In act of what she called “resistance” against the president, New Mexico’s Democratic governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham withdrew 118 National Guard troops from the state’s southern boundary.
She said she did it to counter what she called Trump’s “charade of border fear-mongering,” and as a “protest” against Trump’s move to ban “transgendered” troops from the U.S. military.
The results have been nothing short of disastrous, with drug smuggling activities “exploding” since her deranged move.

Unfortunately, there is no provision in New Mexico's constitution or laws providing for the recall (removal) of an elected state official by the vote of the people.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1.  BORDER CRISIS: NEW MEXICO AND EL PASO CONTINUE TO TAKE CENTER STAGE

The Washington Examiner reports that the U.S. Border Patrol has arrested 424 migrants, its largest-ever group ever in Sunland Park:
  • This past Tuesday morning, Border Patrol agents stationed on the U.S.-Mexico border arrested a group of 424 people who illegally crossed into New Mexico. Authorities said the group is the largest ever apprehended at once.

  • The massive group of primarily Central American families and children traveling without parents arrived in Sunland Park shortly after midnight.

  • Hours later, a second group of 230 people illegally crossed the border and surrendered to agents from the El Paso Sector.

  • Border Patrol's parent agency, Customs and Border Protection, said the groups are not traveling to the U.S. on their own, they are paying human smugglers and cartels to get them into the U.S.

At the same time, the U.S. Border Patrol also admits that they have no choice but to release thousands who were exposed to diseases like tuberculosis.

From the Conservative Review:
  • [Last] Sunday, Aaron Hull, chief patrol agent of the El Paso sector, divulged to the public what we already suspected but most government officials assiduously covered up. The head of the second busiest illegal immigration corridor told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is increasingly “caring for more and more sick people, because a lot of these aliens coming in are carrying contagious health conditions, things like chicken pox, scabies, tuberculosis, lice.”

  • Tuberculosis. That is the disease we sought to eradicate through our laws as early as 1907 by requiring every prospective immigrant to wait at Ellis Island, away from the population, until they got the green light to enter.

  • It is simply inconceivable that this is not a priority threat to the American people. It is certainly a violation of current immigration law.

    • The law (8. U.S.C. §1182(a)(1)(A)(i)-(ii)) states clearly that any alien “who has failed to present documentation of having received vaccination against vaccine-preventable diseases, which shall include at least the following diseases: mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, pertussis, influenza type B and hepatitis B, and any other vaccinations against vaccine-preventable diseases” are inadmissible.

Moreover, 8 U.S.C. § 1222(a) requires the government to detain them “for a sufficient time to enable the immigration officers and medical officers to subject such aliens to observation and an examination sufficient to determine whether or not they belong to inadmissible classes.”

But that is not what is happening.  In fact, after Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham went on CNN and dubbed New Mexico as the next Ellis Island, she along with Democrat Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller have opened up state facilities at Expo New Mexico to house migrants.

In response to the border crisis, Otero County is taking proactive measures to prevent their county from becoming the next place to house migrants.
  • “The Board of County Commissioners of Otero County declares its opposition to the United States Border Patrol and other federal agencies dropping off immigrants in Otero County instead of housing them in federal facilities,” the resolution states. “(The commission) declares its opposition to the use of funds, staff, facilities and other resources of Otero County to sustain immigrants as this should be done by the United States Customs and Border Patrol and other federal agencies.”
  • “Otero County has a limited tax base, struggles to meet the needs of its current residents, lacks facilities to house immigrants and cannot meet the needs of an influx of immigrants,” the resolution states.

2.  DEMOCRAT JUDGE RELEASES CHILD PREDATOR ON FURLOUGH, NOW ON THE RUN

As if it's not enough for the Albuquerque metro area to average one shooting per day, including the recent murders of U.S. Postal Service mail carrier Jose Hernandez and UNM student athlete Jackson Weller, now we have state judges threatening public safety by releasing dangerous criminals on furlough.

From KOB Eyewitness News:
  • Benny Valenzuela was awaiting sentencing this month for pleading no contest to multiple counts of sexual contact with a child under 13-years-old. He has a violent history – his record shows charges of kidnapping, battery and murder.

  • Last week, Judge Cindy Mercer allowed him to be furloughed. He had from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to come to Albuquerque to see his newborn granddaughter and return to Valencia County, but he never did.

  • County prosecutors opposed the furlough but ultimately the judge decided to allow it.

Cartels Thriving In New Mexico After Checkpoint Shutdowns

There is a crisis at the border between New Mexico and Mexico, but the governor has turned a blind eye and, even worse, is in denial that there's even a crisis.

The New York Post reported:
ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — In this sprawling desert city in the shadow of the Sacramento Mountains, local officials are fed up with the border crisis — and have gone rogue.
Otero County last month became the first border community to declare a state of emergency after the federal government shut down two local checkpoints in the area, which had traditionally provided a second line of defense against shipments of drugs and illegal immigrants who managed to sneak through the border at El Paso, about 90 miles to the south.
“It’s a green light for the cartels when border checkpoints are down,” Otero County Sheriff David Black, 56, told The Post.
Black, who has lived in this city of nearly 32,000 people his whole life, said he has 44 “gun toters” overseeing the county’s 6,628 square miles of lonely ranchland and pistachio orchards nestled among national parkland and Holloman Air Force Base.
Now the lawman said he has to deploy his own overworked forces to stop drugs such as methamphetamines, marijuana and fentanyl from coming through his territory, which is home to some 65,000 people.
Otero County is undefended because US Customs and Border Protection shut down two inspection facilities on US Routes 54 and 70, Black said. The Border Protection agents were sent south to El Paso to help with the massive influx of migrants. More than 800 have been arriving per day at the border near El Paso, according to Border Protection statistics.
In addition to the federal government’s shutdown of the checkpoints, New Mexico’s recently installed Democratic governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham, withdrew 118 National Guard troops from the state’s southern boundary, in defiance of President Trump. Earlier this year, she called Trump’s policies at the Mexican border a “charade of border fear-mongering.”
In the wake of the Border Protection withdrawal, Griffin and Black want the governor to redeploy the National Guard, and they are determined to sue the state if the governor continues to refuse to cooperate, Griffin said.

Gov. Grisham Rolling Out Red Carpet For Disease

This morning, I spotted a post by New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham on ObamaCare following a Tweet stating that she's "temporarily" housing illegal aliens in university dormitories, all on the taxpayers' dime!

I couldn't leave her post unanswered:

Democrats Don't Want Illegal Aliens In Their "Sanctuaries"!

Democrats everywhere are going absolutely nuts over President Trump's idea about dropping illegal immigrants into their sanctuary states and sanctuary cities from Speaker Nancy Pelosi to New Mexico Gov. Michelle "Loony" Lujan Grisham!

Isn't that what they've wanted when they started their "sanctuary" B.S.? The irony is priceless!

All of a sudden, after Trump's announcement, they have made a complete 180° reversal. It clearly shows the Democrats to be the phonies they are.

This is very funny to watch!
