Holbrook/Petrified Forest KOA

While roaming around the Holbrook, Arizona vicinity over this weekend, I stayed at the Holbrook/Petrified Forest KOA in Holbrook.

The KOA was nicer than I expected since the town has a sparse amount of trees (at least that's the way it seemed). The KOA has a nice abundance of trees (some areas had more than others) and the interior roads were easy to navigate.

They serve a morning pancake breakfast and a Chuckwagon dinner in the evenings. Before checking in, I was wondering where I was going to eat at, but the solved that problem.

The KOA Kampground has the usual amenities one expects from the chain: playground, pool, Kamping Kabins, store and dog walks.

It is situated off old Route 66 in the western part of Holbrook just north of Interstate 40.

For dinner, I had the grilled chicken filet, beans, potato salad and petrified toast (it was better than it sounds, so I didn't break any teeth on it).

Speaking of petrified, they have on display a 200 million-year-old petrified log. The KOA is 16 miles from Petrified Forest National Park.

I enjoyed my stay there and I would stay there again.
