No Fires!

A few days ago, I noticed a posted bulletin about no open fires in Six Mile Canyon/Cibola National Forest due to the low humidity conditions on the Whispering Cedars community bulletin board.

Then yesterday, as I was driving into Six Mile Canyon, I noticed this sign just inside the gateway:

According the posted bulletin, NO FIRES means no campfires or even barbecues are allowed in the national forest, which is directly behind our community.

The fire watch has expired, only to be replaced by a high wind advisory.

The forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today
Sunny, with a high near 68. Breezy, with a west wind 5 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
Tonight
Mostly clear, with a low around 38. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 25 mph decreasing to 5 to 15 mph after midnight.
Friday
Sunny, with a high near 66. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
