Worldwide cruise lines have suspended operations during the coronavirus pandemic.
A lot of news about quarantined cruise ships with coronavirus-stricken passengers was made during the beginning of the "pandemic". This is not surprising since generally cruise ships have around 2,000-3,000 passengers in confined areas, essentially making them "floating petri dishes" for diseases.
One such cruise line, Royal Caribbean, has extended their global suspension.
According to TravelPulse:
In light of the ongoing health crisis, Royal Caribbean has announced that the cruise line is suspending global cruise operations through June 11, 2020.
In a statement, the cruise line said: “We are working with our guests to address this disruption to their vacations, and we are genuinely sorry for their inconvenience. We expect to return to service on June 12.”
